MI - Bianca Jones, 2, Detroit, 2 Dec 2011 - #4 - *D. Lane guilty*

It's a beautiful day in the Motor City - the sun is shining and temps are expected to be about 60*. The annual Thanksgiving Day parade is in progress, and Bianca should be there with her mom, grandmother, cousins, friends. She would have been nearly three - the perfect age to experience the awesome floats, holiday music by marching bands, clowns, dancers, and, of course, Santa Claus. Bianca should be here for this joyful, magical season. Gone too soon.

:waitasec: I have no idea what is going on with D'Andre's sentencing. It seems that he is still in the Wayne County jail as there is no prison listing for him on the MDOC site. I will send an email to WDIV and ask if there is any new information regarding the date of sentencing.

ETA: Wow! That was quick.

XXXXX

The sentencing is now scheduled for December 3rd……

Thanks.

Thank you, BDE. I was wondering what was going on with the sentencing and had sporatically been checking the MDOC inmate search.

I wonder if the move in the sentencing date was buried in an updated older MSM article? That seemed to happen with a lot of the info on this case. Made it very difficult to find updated info.....

anyhoo, thank you soooo much for getting the info, BDE. Monday it is. I think Monday is the 3rd. Yes, it is.

Any chance you can be there for the sentencing BDE? A WS'r sure can wish, eh? lol.
I want to see DL's face when the sentence is read, or at least have someone describe it!

So I've been checking back in anticipation of some sort of new news.

I know this may be far fetched but I keep wondering why sentencing was delayed ...... one could only hope that DL decided to talk in hopes of a more lenient sentence???? :please:

Sure hope MS has some sort of coverage {sigh}

I was wondering along the same lines...... The sentencing was moved to the day following the 1st anniversary of Bianca's 'disappearance'.

..... and I still go back to wondering and wishing we knew why the prosecution believed her remains were not recoverable. (paraphrasing from memory.) By their statement that they believed she's in an incinerator, do they mean the one main one which serves Detroit and it would be similiar to LE/Pros in another jurisdiction to substitute landfill for incinerator, or are there numerous incinerators in Detroit?

I doubt that an ordinary citizen can dispose of something in the incinerator, so my guess is that LE believes that D'Andre put Bianca's body in an alley trash bin or dumpster somewhere along his driving route. Trash from neighborhood pickups and/or commercial dumpsters would be loaded onto a trash hauler, then be driven to the incinerator for disposal.

Thank you, BDE. I wasn't sure if there were many or only the one incinerator in Detroit. I guess I thought perhaps certain businesses may have their own incinerator, which DL might have found access too?

But I agree, the possibility that he disposed of her in a trash bin making her way to the incinerator makes sense.

I'm still holding out hope she'll be found allowing her family to give her a proper burial.

One year and one day ago little Bianca "disappeared".

Kim Worthy and her team took this to trial and got their conviction.

Bianca has still not been found. This will make the second Christmas for her family without her. I can't imagine the pain...

Whatever D'Andre Lane recieves is nothing compared to the sentence imposed upon her and the family who loved her.

She will never walk down the aisle, she will never graduate from high school or college, she will never run and play with her friends, she will never get to toss and turn on Christmas eve waiting for Santa to come.

For everything D'Andre stole from you baby girl he will pay for - in this life and the next.

God Bless you BB - we will never foget you! Let your light shine bright from heavan sweetness....

Mandatory max for the felony murder is life without parole. Not sure what he'll get for the aggravated child abuse, but I'm confident that DL will be in prison for the remainder of his earthly life. :moo:

I listened to the 11:00 news on WWJ radio (CBS) followed by local headlines. Reporter on scene at Courthouse, but still no mention of the time of sentencing. Local TV stations have noon news reports; I hope the sentencing time is given then. DL is probably shivering in his shoes right about now and probably needs http://www.depend.com/mens-solutions/products/10544

D'Andre Lane has been sentenced to Life w/o Parole for felony murder of his daughter, Bianca Jones, plus 30 years for child abuse to be served concurrently.

If you didn't watch the sentencing, you missed an opportunity to witness the REAL D'Andre Lane: arrogant, narcissistic, disrespectful of the Judge - called her a liar in the Courtroom. WOW! She had some words for Mr. Lane, and it wasn't pretty. Judge Evans wasn't too pleased with Lane's attorney, either. Banika still thinks the Prosecutors and jury got it wrong and plans to prove it
