DETROIT - Police are working to positively identify a body found early Thursday morning in a field on Detroit's east side.

The body is believed be 13-year-old Deontae Mitchell, who police said was abducted by a man Tuesday night on the city's east side...

Detroit police are holding a news conference at 10 a.m. Watch it live here.

I suspect the news conference will be official confirmation that the body is DM

You know Tealgrove, it sounds like all Deontae did was bend over a pick up a bill that was left on the ground. (From what we know so far)

My heart hurts this morning.

It's so hard to log in to news like this, but thank you to everyone who has been updating and following along with me. Like everyone else I think, I just keeping thinking "why??" No answer could ever be satisfactory.

If this grown man, not even an immature adult like college age, but a fully mature adult MALE had children operating under him with some drug business, I hope he 's happy with himself. You make children play an adult game and then give them the same consequences as adults ? They're babies ! They should be climbing trees and getting blushed cheeks when a cute girls goes by. I will wait until it is confirmed in the presser but it appears there is little doubt at this point that Deontae has been found

I'm watching the press conference on TV, you can see Chief Craig is extremely disturbed. He is saying no confirmation officially from the ME's office on the body yet.

Also, just comparing arrest photo and the video, there is no question they have the correct person. Press conference saying there was a companion female and has named 2 additional male suspects by name, telling them to turn themselves in.
