It actually was a very interesting case, but no coverage, either. Martin Zale = a grumpy old man with an anger problem. Shot a man in Howell, Michigan, and blamed the victim. Jury found him guilty of 2nd degree. (The victim's wife was in the car when this occurred, they were in their way to pick up their little ones from school).

Zale testified Tuesday that he intended to kill the man, Derek Flemming, who stood at the driver's side window of his Dodge Ram pickup while it was parked on Grand River Avenue at Chilson Road on Sept. 2, but he said it was in self-defense because Flemming hit him in the face, threatened to harm him and reached into his cab as if to carry out the threat.

I guess we mostly have to wait for the end of the day report from Macomb Daily:

Furtaw (sister in law) described learning about body parts found in St. Clair County on Jan. 31 on television. She said she didn’t think the remains could belong to Ramsay but then saw her sister-in-law’s image from surveillance video and a reporter asking the public for information about “this person of interest.”
“I just felt sick,” she said. “I knew it was Ramsay.”
She immediately called police. Scrivo was at the home of her other brother and sister-in-law.

I really only pay attention when we are in playoffs --around here you don't have a choice!! I get more sports stuff when I visit my sister in Ga. She is also into college games.

Only tested for Ramsay DNA, not Donna. Donna had some scratches and bruises on her wrists and forearms, no where else.

Recorded 2 of Donna's calls while in jail in February. Donna called Linda, crying and can't understand her. Something about Jason (other son). Said a man dressed in black was in the house, threatened to kill Ramsay and her, she tried to jump him and he beat her. The man told her what to do and was there for several days upstairs in the home.

The sound was really bad. I couldn't make out anything Donna said on the second call, or even who the man was that she called. The judge let the jurors use a transcript when listening to the call.
