Hello Strach !
It really does not seem odd to me that there are so few warrants being returned for public consumption. You will note that many of the returned warrants leave out much of the inventory of items collected (i.e. the residence). This tends to make me believe that warrants with inventories containing true evidence are either not yet returned or have been sealed to prevent release.
As to what Mr. Smith gets - he gets a copy of warrants issued directly to his client - such as the house, the SUV, the computers etc, but that is all he gets. Since his client is not charged with any crime, he is not entitled to any information other than what is public knowledge. Sealed warrants, Smith would not have nor would he have inventory lists of evidence collected beyond those returned as required (what we have seen). LE and the DA is under no obligation to provide any of this information to JY or his lawyer at this point. If JY is charged, indicted and brought to bear - the process of discovery begins then, not now. Hope that helps !
Have a good day Strach !

ETA - since Team JY chose the silent non cooperative stance, I have no doubt they are receiving exactly the same in return.
