It appears it is a habit for JY to leave all of the hard tasks to the women around him. He has his Mum call LE and speak for him. He runs into the house and leaves his Mum, Sis and Bil to deal with LE when he does return to Raleigh, he leaves the cleanup of the mess made at Birchleaf to his Sis - hmmmm.

and now we find out that a cookout was planned?

don't tell me Michelle was supposed to organize that too?
Buy the beer, hamburgers, hot dogs, steaks and charcoal.

that plus overnight guests is a lot of pressure to put on a woman, especially one that was five month's pregnant.

maybe we'll be hearing next that it was a Weber BBQ grill that jason
had to swing by his mom's house and pick up or an Aero inflatable bed.

imo

The bottom line is Jason would not have missed his old friend that evening for anything.....Except, Michelle was dead.

Bumping for Sami as I too would like to know why Jason's sister is the custodian of the house. Interesting turn of events.

Morning all!

Again, may be a little bit of misinterpretation on Jake's part? I have no idea.

However, on my agency's inventory form (which I think was related to the context of Jake's statement about the house being turned over to his sister; I could be wrong!), it is required to be left where the the inventory was done and items were taken. If no one is there, they leave it on the counter, etc. I'm only wondering whether LE giving the form to the sister was misinterpreted that LE deemed her as custodian of the house. In actuality, that's not what they were doing.

Now, maybe Jason had told LE (through his atty) that his sister would be there and was entitled to be there on his behalf (because heaven forbid, he didn't want to look eye to eye with any LE :chicken: )

DD,

Good Morning!

I think if one looks at the warrants rather closely, one will be able to determine that they are not complete in some sense by just comparing them. Several have checked boxes for "See Attachments". In other words, WRAL, the N & O posted links to what they chose to publish to the public. I suspect if someone was industrious they could go to the Wake County Courthouse and obtain these same warrants and maybe see something with considerably more information. What the press released may have been limited to x amount based on bandwidth considerations. Beggars should not be choosers nor complainers - anyone can go in and purchase these documents when the courthouse is open.

Also on several of these warrants one will note they have been forwarded to Roger Smith, no mention of a direct family member. Once LE released the house from their control I doubt they really cared who JY gave the "keys" to as that would of course be his right and no obligation to inform LE of anything. It seems to me that LE made every effort to forward warrants to the owner via his lawyer of choice. So Jake has more answers than he knows, studying what has been made available would be helpful and might help him to understand that some of his accusations against LE are actually quite unfounded.

Good Morning Saint, I just remembered that this was a special weekend because of the big game, and we learned that really right away in the case. So it wasn't really a cookout at their house, but rather one of those tailgate parties close to the University.

I remember because I wrote a post back then about all that Michelle had to do plus she would have had to go shopping for groceries and plan a menu, buy beer, etc. for the partee. We just didn't know then that they had a couple coming from out of town to spend the weekend with them or that MM and Steve were coming up either, who did cancel we learned later, due to their little boy being sick!

Off to run some errands, see you later in the morning!

evidently not if it is evidence or is in a warrant that is under seal, is that correct RC?

imo

Saint,

I am going to have to look that one up to be sure I answer correctly - I have found that NC has some rather unusual turns in laws concerning such matters. I will see what I can find and post it here.

I think we also need to remember that JY's lawyer has just as much of an interest in keeping some information sealed as does LE.

ETA - Smith is savvy - remember the article about him requesting the return of the SUV ? He got it back and it was entertaining to watch the boards at that point - the range of thought from there was no evidence found or they would have kept it to long time board members remembering that vehicles are often returned and seldom dragged into a courtroom as pictures work just fine, unless of course the vehicle is in fact the actual crime scene. This move was purely public relations and nothing more.

I am sooo confused!

Howdy,

Sorry you are so confused, Strach. I'll just repost my post from earlier, since that seems to be confusing you.

Now, can I help clear up something for you?

As your post points out, this is total BS.

Howdy,

I'm afraid my total Best Sharing has this poster, Barney Fife AKA RPD, totally confused. Sorry about that. I'm sure it must be my fault for faulty communication. I hope he won't mind if I do some correcting so others on the board will not also be confused.

1. Rather than Mama, I usually refer to her more respectfully as Mrs. Young, or Jason's mother.

2. Jason left Raleigh somewhere around 8 pm

3. He called his mother around 9 pm, but I don't know if it was on his cell. It may have been.

4. I didn't say he made "last minute" plans. Perhaps he was only confirming earlier plans, as I would suspect is true.

5. I didn't say anything about baby furniture. In fact, the furniture was not baby furniture. This furniture, however, would allow Jason and Michelle to move Cassie to another room and redecorate the nursery for the newborn baby boy.

6. I believe Jason called Michelle around 11 pm, possibly after he arrived at his motel, and confirmed with her that it would make sense for him to go on to Brevard from his meeting. I believe this was because, as Jason and Michelle had already discussed, they would have no room for the furniture at a Thanksgiving trip with Cassie and luggage. They were eager to get started on the newborn boy's room.

7. I said nothing about Jason's "best college bud" and have no idea how this poster connected me with information about him and his wife. Possibly another poster gave this poster that information.

Again, I really regret that this poster has been confused by my poor communication and that I have had to take up so much space to correct him. But this is totally the Best Sharing I have.

Sssooooooo,

If Jason **really** needed to get that 'furniture' so badly and the meeting was in 'Western VA'.......

He could've left earlier on Thursday for mommy's at Brevard, got there, loaded the stuff in the car, stayed overnight then got up early to drive to his meeting in 'western VA', had his meeting then driven home to his wife. Certainly would've saved hotel costs.

Why did he not do that?

Oh that's right, there'd be no reason to call Meredith and ask her to go play 'fetch' and he didn't want to be the first to find Michelle's body.

Sami

Hi, Sami,

I think we can all postulate that Jason COULD HAVE done many things. But we are stuck with what he DID DO. Why don't we stick with that.

Yeah , we really don't need links to who said Jason was not happy imo.

Howdy,

I've come back to this statement several times and still can't believe what I'm reading.

It seems ANYBODY can say anything derogatory about Jason and "we" just accept it. Unbelievable.

Pity we can't have voice posting, lmao.....sarcasm just doesn't cut it in writing. :(

The 'I have furniture for you Jason' discussion at 9pm, then waiting 2 hours to 'get permission' from Michelle to pick it up sounds like complete utter baloney to me.

If he could phone his mom at 9pm he could've phoned Michelle straight after he hung up.....but I don't think Michelle would've minded because..........

She was just a lovely woman who had no choice in the matter anyhow! Even if she said yes, and wasn't murdered...he probably would've went anyway.

Sami

Howdy,

I have posted previously that Jason did call Michelle around 9 pm. She asked him to call back after the GA show. I'm sure the police officers have this information.

So is she expected to just take time from her job and family to handle JYs affairs for him? I fail to see why an unemployed, healthy male can't manage to take charge of his own affairs instead of allowing these additional burdens to be placed on family members. Proximity to Raleigh is a pretty poor excuse IMO.

Jake,

Back to your bloody shoe print that you said was obviously smaller than Jason's foot. I assume this was in the master bath ? As they did with the carpet under Michelle, any prints in carpet would be cut out for lab analysis. Well I guess I just answered my own question....sorry.

Howdy,

I don't know what "custodian" means in legal terms, but I know Jason's sister had the house locks changed and had the only key. Perhaps that made her custodian.

I understand that search warrants were left in the house and were eventually given to Jason's attorney. Which raises the question for me, again. How can a search warrant be sealed? The copy the police officers hold could be sealed, but not the copy left at the house. And, police officers can seal their copy of the inventory of items removed from the house, but not the copy left at the house.

Jake,

I know the lamp and sheet rock wall by the bed that had blood spatter were not removed by lE. However, there were other sections of sheet rock removed from the house. Do you recall where in the room or bathroom this was ? Bloody finger /palm prints were most likely cut out.

Howdy,

You (and others) seem to make no allowance for the grieving of a man who has had his wife and baby boy beaten to death.

Jason is fortunate to have family and friends who will help him in his time of need.

I for one, think the big weekend festivities were very carefully planned before he left Thursday evening. Unfortunately, they suddenly changed.
