It stands to reason valuable jewelry would not be overlooked. But maybe you can tell all of us why Jason would steal his own jewelry? Whoops, maybe I can answer my own question: maybe Michelle willed the jewelry to her sister or mother?

I just checked a photo: the closet door was closed when I was there. The photo doesn't show blood, but shows some bluish/purple stuff on the door frame.

Re the ransacking of the closet: Isn't it possible that the investigators went thru the closet attempting to find something of Jason's -- shoes or clothing, perhaps?

I've checked my photos, and I see no jewelry box. But I do remember seeing one with two drawers missing on a dresser in the room. This one had been heavily dusted for prints and had bluish/purple stuff on it. This is just my opinion, of course, and could mean anything. Pour salt on it.

Someone mentioned earlier that the possible reason for the friend of Mrs Young/McIntire taking pictures was for insurance purposes. Perhaps Michelle had a seperate policy for her jewelry. Perhaps someone was trying to make it look like her jewelry was stolen. Of course the police report would have to state there was jewelry missing. Maybe they filed a seperate police report. That type of insurance would surely pay out quicker than any life insurance. :twocents:

If the jewelry was taken on the night of the murder, it was done in an attempt to stage the crime scene to make it appear that robbery/burglary was the motive. imo

Sorry, I didn't get any photos of the inside of the closet. I did peek in, though, and saw stuff thrown around. Maybe someone else first used the word "ransacked" and I picked it up. I still think the cops could have done some of that, though. But, who knows?

It's just my opinion, but I highly doubt the police were remiss
in anything pertaining to their investigation of this case.

Since you looked in the closet, can you tell us if the Youngs had some sort
of safe or locked box in any of their closets?

Please keep in mind that any pictures I have and anything I saw was a couple of weeks after the house had been returned to family. I also don't know anything about a police report.

So, jake, why don't you set up a little blog or an album on a photo sharing site and post all those pics so we could refer the them instead of having to bother you all the time with all these pesky questions? I know it would be a lot of trouble, but just think of all the time and aggravation it would save you if everytime one of us had a thought, we could just look for ourselves. Whaddya think?
