Misty's New Interview

The reason I can't believe the drug theory, is I think RC would have kept his drugs very well hidden. Not only could he not trust MC not to take them, but her whole family and RC's friends. He probably kept them hidden in his truck or on his person.

If the wall was truly taken down in the MH it was probably for far more nefarious reasons. JMO
well it couldve been someone elses drugs that had been there .. i dunno i just have a gut feeling she died from some kind of overdose .. but that is just my opinion i hope someone spills something soon .. however on the flip side of that if it WAS an accident why dont they just fess up .. i have alot of mixed feelings on this anything couldve happened to that baby .. i just think tho she got into something in that house and died as a result of it ..

ITA!!! BBM :)

Any person not under the influence would think the same way. IF this is what happened to HaLeigh, i can give a reason in my opinion as to WHY they would hide her. (it is a very twisted way of thinking) They had to hide her body as the autopsy would reveal what she OD from. Then Ron would go to jail, if nothing else for neglect and he would loose JR.

I guess in the end, it doesn't really matter, b/c he is in jail for 15 years and lost JR anyhow.

I'm going out on a limb here to say that after hearing this interview I have a glimmer of hope for the first time in a long time that Misty will eventually tell her story. Do you remember when Misty kept saying in early interviews/tests/jail visits that Ron was a good father, that Haleigh was Ron's heart and that he would never hurt her??

But now...we are hearing from Misty that Ron abused his kids. And that he abused Misty whenever she intervened on the kids' behalf. I have believed all along that there was child abuse ongoing in that household, but it is really good to actually hear Misty say it, finally. Misty stated in court in St. Johns that Ron was sometimes rough with her, but that's as as far as she went on the subject of abuse, and AFAIK she has never admitted Ron was abusive to the kids until now. This is progress, IMO.

Poor Haleigh.

Snipped --- we also heard that Misty was the best girlfriend, how much HaLeigh loved Misty and wanted them married, and she was like a mother.

That mutual admiration fan club sure went south.

If Misty were handled right--maybe if she got some counseling from a therapist she could connect with, I think her story would come out. The therapist would not be allowed to share any of it due to confidentiality laws but if therapy progressed well, Misty would come out with the facts herself.

Possibly Misty is receiving counseling already but if she isn't, I don't see the authorities arranging anything for her because, unfortunately, LE is done with this case, IMO. I think if anything occurred that was worth their looking at, they would look at it, but I do not think anyone in authority is actively seeking answers anymore.

Poor Haleigh.
This is what I mean by Misty manipulating certain things. Yes, I believe her when she says she and the children were abused. But why come out with that now? It's like she's using it now to defend herself against something. But what is that something? lol...I'm racking my brain but can't find anything. This is the way I see it...Ron made a deal and swore to be truthful. Personally, I think LE is holding him to his end of the bargain...as we speak. They're either getting the truth out of him, or he's gonna get it. If Misty knows he's talking, then she knows what he's saying, hence, the need to defend herself. So, now we hear about Ron's abuse and drug use. I know I sound jaded, but IMO, it seems that what it took for Misty to open up, is for Ron to turn on her. Ron's being forced to talk and Misty in retaliation, is talking. But as long as the truth comes out, does the motivation even matter? NO. We always knew these people would have to turn on each other for the truth to come out. Anyway, this is just MOO based on current events and this interview.

IIRC Misty revealed a long time ago he was shooting up and also stated she believed both Amber and Crystal when they claimed he had been abusive..So Misty NOW claiming Ronald was abusive is not something new for me...JMHO

It does not matter to me who turns on who, or whether self-preservation is anyone's motive...as long as it leads to the truth.

For all we know, what Misty will confess to is that she wasn't there, that the kids were alone and that they were often left alone. Misty still thinking of herself as their mom and protector, and that she was better at it than their real mom, could be holding her back from admitting she wasn't there.

Sometimes I think she wasn't there, other times I think she was, but I have always felt she has not told everything that needs to be told. Even if Misty knows nothing about what happened, if she ever sees fit to give an honest accounting of everything she did and everyone she or Ronald talked to--not only that night, but for a week or two prior to February 9, 2009--the Haleigh "mystery" might be solved.

No, it's not new. What is new is that she admits he abused his children. She always called him a good dad before, even when she believed he abused Amber and Crystal.

I agree up to a point, but if the truth is finally revealed only because of Ron's self preservation, I'm not going to be ok with it...but I can live with it. It just doesn't seem fair at all. I guess LE knew what they were doing when they included him in the sting. I've always thought of Ron as an extreme self preservationist, and knew when and if push came to shove, he'd do what was necessary to take care of himself. MOO. Misty's no slouch when it comes to looking out for herself, but one on one, she's never going to win a war of words. She needs to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. and let the chips fall where they may. MOO.

I agree.. But IMO we don't really know what all she has told LE.. We do know she has claimed LE has not been interested in hearing anything about Ron C being involved and she even stated in this interview it was apparent LE wasn't doing anything to solve this case...JMHO

All true.

It all just makes ya wonder WTF!!!???

How much abuse did she believe was normal?

How much abuse did she believe was normal?

I am thinking quite a bit. All too often, abusive parents do not see what they do as abuse. I think Misty knew he was abusive to the kids but IMO she could never really see how abusive.

ETA: Misty could have at times been abusive to the kids as well and to this day may not even know it as abuse.

Perhaps when RC was high on drugs he could have been careless with them and little Haleigh had taken them, as you said, and then OD's. I just think on whole he would have been very careful and very selfish with his "stash."

A random thought: When Misty talks about Ronald pulling in the driveway and he didn't really look like he was upset, he was just messed up with drugs, and how she called him many times and he didn't answer it sounds to me like she was expecting him to come home already upset, even though he wouldn't have known about it yet.

I suppose she's just expressing her thoughts in a less than cronological order and leaving things out, and means to convey that he didn't look upset when he was told

Another random thought: Misty says in the beginning of the video that everybody's against her and she's in prison for some stuff she shouldn't be there for. It sounds defensive and even though I desperately want you to be correct and she's closer to telling the truth about Haleigh I'm not so sure... If she's not ready to admit that she's in prison because they sold drugs which is against the law I'm not so sure she's any more ready to admit her part in the disappearance and cover up of a little girl. She might be more willing to spill on someone else but IMO it doesn't sound like she's ready to admit she's ever done anything wrong, and she'd probably have to if she revealed the truth about Haleigh. If nothing else she'd have to confess she's told a lot of lies to LE to hinder the investigation.

Poor Haleigh.

Crystal Sheffield said that. Not Misty.

Misty is feeling targeted I'm sure, and she was, but oh well...that's the chance you take if you're a drug dealer. And that goes for all of them. IDK how this tape was edited, but some of Misty's randomness seemed like answers to specific questions, IMO.

I don't believe the abuse claim, nonsense imo. She's aimed at the other family, Tommy, Joe, and now Ron. Crystal never said he had abused the children and we've never heard Amber speak. She's grasping at straws imo. I wish someone had asked her about the one story Flo said she was told by someone, about Misty hitting HaLeigh with a piece of wood or something, mind you it's just heresay and I also don't believe stories that I am guessing are from some Croslins. Jmo

And I also wish they'd asked her why the Tommy/Joe story? And what significance the "couch" had, I remember Lisa being cut off about Tommy on the couch, and we've all heard the other couch story. Not sure if any is true of course. Jmo

IMO.. LE needs to ask Ron C and his family WHY the Tommy/Joe story...I highly suspect the Cummings/Neves Sykes clan were the ones who wanted Misty to implicate her brother, Tommy along with her cousin Jo when she took that LVA test.. And IIRC Ronald Cummings also insinuated to Cobra... Jo did it.. And even told Cobra he thought Jo had fed Haleigh to the gators... JMHOOTS
