I have never been so nervous watching testimony lol

I was pretty sure that he could refute it without the "new" results they found.

But court is new to Dr. Tobin..

The shot of the judge holding his head in his hands in disbelief was really something to see.

really counting on Tobin to mind his answers carefully and not stick foot in mouth and cause mistrial. I do believe this is a case the state is winning, it would be a shame for it to end in mistrial.

MOO, was strategic error to bring all this up. 98% oxygen saturation and you told us 0%?

I completely agree. Legal rules drive me crazy at times. It almost makes me wish that jurors would watch the news to get a broader picture of what’s happening. (Not that the news isn’t full of disinformation...)

At any rate, DC held him down next to the tailpipe, so even if a juror gives CO undue weight regarding death, DC is still the one who forced GF’s face toward it.

That is exactly right!!!!

The O2 saturation levels have already been previously introduced, so I don't think Tobin has violated the ruling at all.

Maybe if the judge would of given the state more time to prep this witness, that wouldn’t of happened!

Judge Cahill rules carbon monoxide blood results will NOT come in as evidence today. Cahil argues state has had the evidence for months & knew Dr. David Fowler might suggest a CO theory in relation to #GeorgeFloyd death. Judge says even a hint of "unseen blood results" =mistrial.

Our courtroom pool reporter spoke to Arthur Reed, #GeorgeFloyd cousin about Chauvin invoking his 5th. Reed said, the prosecution “would have chopped him down second by second,” about why he knelt on Floyd for so long. “We didn’t think they were going to put him on at all.” (1/2)

(2/2) #GeorgeFloyd cousin Arthur Reed on #DerekChauvin decision not to testify: “We’re just ready to get this over with, make sure he gets the justice he deserves. We think the state has put on an excellent case.” This from our courtroom pool reporter on today's big development.

BREAKING: Defense rests its case in State vs #DerekChauvin. The defendant will not testify. State now calling a single rebuttal witness, Chicago area pulmonologist Dr. Martin Tobin.

In fairness... they had all night to prep this witness. Nelson said he just got the rebuttal or the "new" results at 7:45... he also couldn't get in touch with Fowler after that because he was on a flight. So who should get more time? ;)

Tobin and Blackwell were nervous, walking on eggshells due to the judge’s threat of mistrial. IMO.

where is Nelson? They should just have Chauvin get up...nothing at all to lose.

Problem is, this judge is biased. IMO

Yes, I think his testimony was fine even without the "new" evidence. He clarified that the oxygen level was 98% so the highest amount of carbon monoxide that could have been in his blood was 2%, which is normal.

Reconvene until quarter to the hour???

I'm guessing Nelson is wanting to talk to his "experts".... recess until quarter too... so 10 minutes or so

It is the new blood gas evidence Tobin called prosecution about last night that can NOT be testified to according to the Judge. Tobin nearly tripped up just now in his testimony. Judge stated he will declare a mistrial if new evidence is brought up by Tobin, imo
