Well that was rough. I'm sure she is glad it's over...

This is a frustrating witness. But I kinda in a small way like witnesses like this because they make the lawyers work for it!! Haha! Nelson will try to make this witness look bad.
I feel bad for this young woman. She comes off as a mess but she has to be really nervous.
Maybe she feels distrust for police and the System. Maybe concerns how her friends will perceive her testimony.

Alright Mr. Williams! He’s properly attired and seems confident!

Nelson asks Oyler about where she was standing when she took the videos, honing in on the concept that her camera can only capture one view point.

Nelson asks, "Would you also agree ... the crowd of people started becoming more and more vocal?"

Oyler says, "I think so."

8:46 seconds now for them all to take a knee and prayer.. was planned to be for silence.

@SouthAussie and others over ponds... are your channels covering as this initially caused worldwide protests?

It is getting a detailed mention that the trial has started on our morning TV shows - Tuesday morning here.

We have reporters on the ground there ... some footage is being shown (Rev Sharpton kneeling, video of George dying) and a quick recap of the case - including the prosecution and defense positions.

Donald Wynn Williams is up next.

The third witness of the day is Donald Williams, who has a place about a block away from Cup Foods. Williams has worked in private security for several years, from being bouncer to providing security for celebrities.

Assistant Attorney General Matthew Frank is questioning Williams about martial arts background and experience working alongside MPD officers both when officers respond to an incident and when they work security while off-duty.

Why is this witness’s wrestling background relevant?

Nelson - “you’re not a police officer, correct? You didn’t receive police training, right?”

from two weeks ago:

Witness in George Floyd death will be allowed to use MMA knowledge if called to testify

Donald Williams, who witnessed George Floyd's death and whose testimony could be critical in the murder trial of Derek Chauvin, will be allowed to use his mixed martial arts experience and knowledge if called to testify.

Williams, wearing a black "Northside Boxing Club" sweatshirt, was among those who pleaded with police as Chauvin pressed his knee on Floyd's back while three other Minneapolis officers stood by.

"He is not even resisting arrest," Williams said to the police, according to one of the police body cam videos. "You think that's cool? What's your badge number? You're a bum for that. You're a bum for that, bro. He's not responsive right now. You call what he's doing OK?"

Not sure how he'll be as a witness, but I'd love to have lunch with this guy. Very likable.

He’s the one calling Chauvin a bum in the bystander video we saw during opening.

Nelson - “you’re not a police officer, correct? You didn’t receive police training, right?”
I guess he's knowledgeable in chokeholds.

Thanks everyone for the updates.

(Wow, the witness is drawing on the photo live to mark arrows, etc. That’s pretty cool, I haven’t seen that before in a courtroom.)
