I think with all the breaks...late starts....1.5 hour lunches etc. this will go longer than one month. The witness list is very long and if they call even 1/4 of them...long trial. Another late start...thought they are arguing motions today at 9am...maybe that was cancelled.

There were no known motions at end of court yesterday. Judge set 9am in case any possible motions came to light by morning. None must have materialized overnight

Thanks, I can read this one. Is there one for Chauvin and Tao?

I had no idea that both Keung and Lane were both just less than one week out of training, and riding as partners for the first time... still reading Lane's transcript.
If I find it I will post. Will be in and out here today.

anyone have an opinion on Maurice Hall and his testimony? I think if he can do paid interviews he should be on the stand in the case...he is a critical witness for what happened inside that car. I hope they force him to at least show up. I watched his interview on some channel and not buying anything he says...nice to know these guys come to Minneapolis to "clean up"

Interview on tv he can say whatever. In court is different... e.g. scenario "I gave him a counterfeit bill, he gave me change, I then gave him the pills in return for him giving me that change from the cigarettes as part of my counterfeit money laundering scheme." <<-- hypothetical here

That's why he wants to plead the 5th.. above just an example and nothing we know that this happened...

JUDGE NOW: We are ahead of schedule and will take tomorrow afternoon.... Out about 12:30.

And...............we are off!

Who’s this lady on the stand? Courtney something.

  • #46
Her face when she hears about George and how she met him. She LIGHTS UP!!!!!!! I don’t know what her relationship with him was, but she clearly adored him.

I’m surprised the court is allowing this long drawn out story. And defense is not objecting!

Edited to add: Her affect is inappropriate JMO

why in the world did defense not object....she has been all over the media here with her interviews...she lost credibility with me long ago. This is crazy. My big question...is she "spark of life" testimony or was she in the back seat. AT least two women purport to be his girl friend.

As his girlfriend, this is cathartic for her, and many times courts and defense attys don't attack such victims/witnesses on the stand as it makes them look bad.

This is their time to have their voice and tell their stories. MOO To let the jury know the victim.

(I’m wondering where this is going, in terms of prosecution strategy. Is it just to humanize him?)

this testimony is really not hitting the mark for me...this happened because his "mama " died?

Im guessing this is spark of life testimony. Probably smart for defense not to object and risk coming off cold. I haven’t seen any of her interviews but I can imagine based on her affect right away here. I’m not convinced by this overwrought performance. Sorry!

Was she in the backseat? Or is this "spark of life" testimony.

Spark of life, introducing George's drug use, showing the good and the bad in a compassionate way.

It is only going to be a matter of time before the defense will be trying to denigrate George as much as they can.

It appears we’re starting the day off with romantic partners (who have no involvement with the case as far as I can tell) of the deceased to show a brighter side of GF.

Hopefully we come full-circle and bring the pregnant woman who was held up at gun point by GF, as well.

Don't know, but gives insight to many folks. Some folks perhaps don't have the same pain and or empathy of others as to losing a loved one. MOO We are all different and what "hits the mark".

When my mother died, I went off the deep end into an addiction for two years. A downward spiral in my life. I'm lucky that I recovered. It took 2 years to get out of it. MOO

So yes, this is to give insight and let the jury understand him as a person.
