Does fentanyl make someone lethargic? All I know it can be deadly. Even the dust from it can be very harmful from what I've read.

I admit I know next to nothing when it comes to these kind of drugs though.

Isn't fentanyl 100 times stronger than morphine? Tia!

I don't think any of this testimony will make a difference in the end unless the defense has a convincing expert stating since he had just taken these drugs, and had heart disease too it caused him to have a heart attack or go into cardiac arrest. I highly doubt they will be able to prove it though.

Even if it happened George was in the care of the defendant who failed to help him.

Yes it is ridiculously more potent. I was given some after surgery. I threw up, I do recall feeling very spacy and not with program but that might of been anaesthesia xx

How is the order of witnesses selected? Wondering if it would it have been better to have the bystanders go later, closer to decision time, or first to set the emotional tone.

Details from yesterday’s video (while we are on break):

Floyd’s struggle with three police officers trying to arrest him, seen on body-camera video, included Floyd’s panicky cries of “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” and “I’m claustrophobic!” as the officers tried to push Floyd into the back of a police SUV.

At one point, Floyd bucks forward, throwing his upper body out of the car. Officers eventually give up, and Floyd thanks them — and then is taken to the ground, facedown and handcuffed. Chauvin knee pins his neck, another officer’s knee holds his back and a third officer holds his legs, with the officers talking calmly about whether he might be on drugs.

“He wouldn’t get out of the car. He just wasn’t following instructions,” Officer Thomas Lane was recorded saying. Lane also asked twice if the officers should roll Floyd on his side, and later said he thinks Floyd is passing out. Another officer checked Floyd’s wrist for a pulse and said he couldn’t find one.

Did someone just replay a recording of what judge just said in court through live feed and in the courtroom? Immediately... judge is saying for lawyers to go to his chambers.

Help me out, I'm not seeing how it matters if he was calling out for his girlfriend, mom, or grandma - or to all of them collectively in his distress. Does that make a difference in how he was treated at the scene?

Didn’t see it, but as I mentioned the other day, I’ve got my eye on this judge since he was, what I considered to be IMO, very abrasive & harsh in tone towards GH JMO, and afterwards, there was what was described as door slamming, which I did not see bc my feed cut off.

When I think of the term “judge”, I think of someone who does not, or shall I say, should not, portray “emotion”.

#DerekChauvinTrial - During questioning by Nelson is comes out that #GeorgeFloyd has Ross' numbers saved in his phone as "mama". On redirect Frank also has Ross clarify that Floyd called his mother, "mama.

Ross is finished testifying. Now the morning recess.

After a long extended morning break, judge gets on the bench and immediately calls attorneys in chamber. They were out for a minute or two, now court is back in session.

His mother died two years ago, but I don't think it makes a difference whether he was calling out to his mother or his on and off girlfriend. I think it's more likely he was referring to his mother, since he was also saying he was going to die and may have been thinking he was about to join her.

Maybe he had the feeling he was going to die because of the drugs he ingested.

Ross said about a week before GF died she had a similar experience where she felt like she was going to die. The pills made her feel like she was going to die. She said she didn’t remember saying that but it was in her early testimony.

Legally, there is a difference in what types of questions that are allowed to be asked on direct and cross. That is sometimes why witnesses are called for both.
