Conscious neck restraint and the witness says yes

They are back in session

Asking witness about neck restraint. Just asked about physics degree and that witness would not know about the amount of force used
THANK YOU!

That’s what I’ve been saying all along

Witness:
Contrary to our training to indefinitely place your knee on a handcuffed proned person for that length of time

I vehemently disagree that that was the appropriate level of force

And now they classifying questions again!

But when he was telling them he couldn't breathe it was obvious he was alive, but in distress. In the last few minutes of the video his face has relaxed and you can see that he is dead. Maybe that's what he meant.

chief used it as an example he was in pain

It’s not a singular decision making process

Witness yes

Someone who is handcuffed can equally be a threat to an officer as one who is not

Witness yes

Conscious neck restraint

De-escalation have to take in reactions of the crowd

I know! I’m sure glad you typed it out though!!!

Bless you. I am not someone who wouldnt write it even if I did or didn’t like it. Transcription to me means exactly what is said as I can catch it. Nothing to do with my opinion xx

Ex19 video cam footage being shown

Camera perspective bias! Not sure where Nelson is going with this....

Schleischer is sharpening his knife! Lol.

ETA: So Nelson is saying Keung’s camera shows the knee on the shoulder blade. So which camera is biased? Obviously Nelson wants to say the spectator camera is biased. Smh.

This is when ems are arriving part

Familiar with camera perspective bias?

Witness no I am not

Ex1019 same footage but from a diff body cam. One of officers

I think what happened to George Floyd was a perfect storm of poor health, poor decisions, drugs and non-compliance during police interaction

pretty much the same thing that killed Eric Gardener

I will agree as to all four of your points that they did occur, imo:

1. GF did have poor health re: just getting over covid.
2. No doubt he made bad decisions ($20)
3. He did use drugs.
4. There was non compliance during his arrest initially, until they got him on the ground, imo.

Here’s where we get into the meat of it.

What about the 5th variable, DC’s knee on his neck.

Do you believe this played a role? As a “5th Element”, so to speak?
Was this is a contributing factor? Do you think his knee on his neck for 9:00+ cut off the oxygen/blood?

Which again, brings it full circle:

He had poor health wrt post covid imo, made bad decisions, had drugs in system, and resisted arrested, but would he be alive today without DC’s knee on his neck? This for me is the bottom line, jmo. It comes down to the knee being a “substantial causal factor”, which I think is all that the prosecution needs to prove.

I agree with you, as evident by your opinion, and the opinions of some others who have posted here reflect, that it is possible the jury may have some doubt.

So, who knows what’s going to happen.

But my opinion is, people were yelling to get off his neck, he knew, he could “felt” GF’s responsiveness (or lack thereof), DC should have known and would have known imo that this was a life threatening means of restraint, and should have gotten off his neck, that this was beyond a dangerous move. (Short answer)

He's getting deeper and deeper in it. Probably why he already feels like "it's been a long week."
He seems to still be focusing on the angry, threatening crowd as a major factor in the decisions the officers made that day. He pointed out the reflection of the guy who stepped off the curb. I guess we'll have to wait to see what he says about that.

My concern here is, the autopsy gives no indication of neck-area damage.

(You and I have been cool over the years, L4J, let me respectfully ask you this: (not arguing, asking respectfully, honestly curious—if this is tricky per moderator, no worries, apologies please delete)-do you think GF would be alive right now if DC hadn’t kneed on his neck? Not inciting conflict, quite the opposite, just a question. :) )

I will answer that--- yes
