The Trump administration’s efforts to investigate Renee Good and others around her, and not the ICE officer who shot her in Minneapolis, is wreaking havoc on the US attorney’s office in Minnesota, which is leading the probe.

At least half a dozen federal prosecutors in Minnesota resigned amid growing tensions between state and federal officials since the shooting on Wednesday, a source familiar with the matter told CNN.

When asked by CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil what he [Trump] wanted to say to Good’s "heartbroken" father, who the host described as a “big supporter” of Trump, after the administration "so quickly has come out and said she’s a domestic terrorist," the president replied, “I want to say to the father that I love all of our people."

"I would bet you that she, under normal circumstances, was a very solid, wonderful person, but her actions were pretty tough, he added.

Renee Macklin Good’s wife says she nurtured kindness:
Renee Macklin Good’s wife, Becca Good, said that the 37-year-old poet and mother of three was made of sunshine.

“She literally sparkled,” Becca Good said in a statement. “I mean, she didn’t wear glitter but I swear she had sparkles coming out of her pores. All the time.”

But behind that light was a well of deep values that Macklin Good lived by, including a conviction that every person — regardless of “where you come from or what you look like” — deserves compassion and kindness.

“Renee was a Christian who knew that all religions teach the same essential truth: we are here to love each other, care for each other, and keep each other safe and whole,” Good said.

Those were the values that brought the Goods to stop during an ICE operation in south Minneapolis on Jan. 7. Though they were relatively new in town, Becca Good said they wanted to support their neighbors.

“We had whistles,” she said. “They had guns.”

Three men arrested for attempted murder of feds in Minneapolis identified as illegal immigrants from Venezuela

The three men arrested for ambushing an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Wednesday have all been identified as illegal immigrants from Venezuela who were let into the country under the Biden administration, officials said Thursday, calling the attack an “attempted murder” of federal law enforcement officers.

“What we saw last night in Minneapolis was an attempted murder of federal law enforcement. Our officer was ambushed and attacked by three individuals who beat him with snow shovels and the handles of brooms. Fearing for his life, the officer fired a defensive shot,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement.

From CBS News: ACLU sues ICE, Border Patrol over ‘suspicionless stops, warrantless arrests and racial profiling’
ACLU of Minnesota has announced that it, along with several other law firms, has filed a new class action lawsuit against the federal government on behalf of three Minnesota residents who say their constitutional rights were violated by ICE and Border Patrol.

ACLU referenced the detainment of 20-year-old Mubashir Khalif Hussen, a U.S. citizen, in December.

As previously reported, Hussen said he was on a lunch break when he was stopped by ICE. Despite telling them that he is a citizen, Hussen said that agents refused to look at his ID and detained him. He was let go after having his fingerprints taken and showing a photo of his passport to someone at the Whipple building, he said.
There's a video of the press conference at the link.
