GUILTY MO - Eddie Salazar, 8 months, Carthage, 4 February 2010

Have they suspected the father all a long? I am just wondering because the fact that he said he was beat up you would think that the LE would look his body over for bruises etc...

This is so sad. RIP baby Eddie.

I think they did - if not immediately, soon after they started getting 'details'.

Police said Salazar told investigators one name of an individual in the kidnapping who was found to have a credible alibi. Police said other details from Eddie Salazar were also found to be false.

And I'm guessing 'Sr.' didn't look as beat up as Brandon Lockett (wondering if he even had a bump on his head).

Not to mention the home was 'ransacked' & no one heard a thing.

New here, and so very sad this has happened (again!).

What clinched it for me was reading Dad'd been "knocked unconscious" but had not been hospitalized. When one has taken a blow to the head hard enough to make one lose consciousness, there are clear after effects of it - headache, dizziness, neck pain, visual disturbances as well as possible hematomae.

I am both a student nurse and rider of horses. I've been thrown (badly) and lost consciousness briefly, and had to talk the ER doc out of admitting me (which one can do). But the after-effects took easily three weeks to clear, and I had headaches for nearly two months from the accident (although I was riding and at school two days later...).

And frankly, it isn't easy to lose consciousness...it takes a goodsized wallop (which will leave marks, if not bruises) to make one pass out (unless there are other factors - drugs, bp issues, et cetera) from a physical assault, and Dad didn't show any of that (from what I understand, and from his mugshot). Avieon Lewis' stepfather had more indication of possible LOC, and this guy has nothing visible.

God rest you, Little Eddie. May you now know the love and peace which you were denied on earth.

I think so WillenFan. LE has continually said that the elements would be harsh for a baby in a onsie. I think LE was hoping that this 🤬🤬🤬 threw the baby away alive and that LE would be able to get to the baby before he succumbed to the elements. :( That's just the way I read it. LE has been very concerned about the weather since the beginning of this case.

I think this LE did an excellent job. They worked this case from both angles - abduction and parent involvement. I send them many cyber kudos.

May you soar with the Angels, little Eddie. Maybe you can play with little Aveion? I hope you both have fun up in heaven, riding the clouds.

God bless you, little one.

Law officers are now confirming that the body of a child found this afternoon in Spring River is believed to be that of 8-month-old Eddie Salazar, who was reportedly kidnapped from his home Thursday night at 227 E. Mound St. in Carthage.

“The primary suspect in the death of the infact is Eddie Salazar ... the child’s father,” officials said in a statement.

Local TV showed the sheriff, visibly shaken, relaying the story of how baby Eddie was found.

Prayers all round.

Again I see no signs of a man that has been knocked unconscious. How did he think he was going to get away with this???

BL didn't really look beat up at all, if you look at his prior photos.

Bastards.

When was the family's car towed away?

"Boswell [a neighbor] said she saw a tow truck come in early Friday morning and take the family’s car." (from a Carthage Press article)

And Sr. was arrested that evening.

Good on Sheriff Dunn and Chief Dagnan.

Tip led officers to body of missing Carthage boy
(February 06, 2010 07:52 pm)

A tip helped law officers pinpoint the location of a body believed to be that of 8-month-old Eddie Salazar, law officers said at a press conference that is now under way in Carthage. Officers found the body of the boy in Spring River east of Carthage this afternoon, but they have yet to release any details about the tip.

They also have not specified a cause of death, but said the body will be autopsied.

No additional charges have been filed against the father as of this time, according to officers.

Probably more to come this evening.
