I have lots of thoughts and things to say but unfortunately it's about the protests and protestors. I was under the impression that this thread was only for posting about the Grand Jury in relation to OW and Brooks?

ETA: no one was here what I started typing this...Thanks Lamby, I get it now :loveyou:

"After all the violence last night, we're done," he told Daily RFT referring to the tussle between police and protesters Thursday night that resulted in several arrests after Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson marched with protesters.

By now, Wurm knows which individuals incite violence and which ones are protesting peacefully. He says after he told protesters they had to move early Friday morning, most of the people graciously picked up and left, but two boys told him they planned to throw bricks through his windows that night.

Alexander says he stopped working his jobs at Seoul Taco and at an auto body shop to join the protests in Ferguson. The group originally camped out at the furniture store and at Red's BBQ restaurant before setting up tents at the vacant Ponderosa.

Gray says she doesn't see an end to the protests in sight. "It starts with an arrest," she says.

I hear you. I've almost been tempted to join twitter just to say to one or two that the world doesn't hate them. It breaks my heart that's what they've been told. I don't think they're in a place to hear right now, but hope they get there.

I think the Ferguson TownHall is tomorrow, but there could be something else tonight.

yup, you're right 5-7 p.m. & double header

I think it is so fascinating watching the glaringly obvious double standard, being set up by some of the protestors. Last night I was watching the live feed and saw an amazing example of it. First, there were some very heated moments when a line of officers tried to push back the hundreds of protestors, to move them back further from the police station. The protestors were throwing bottles and rocks and some were yelling death threats at the cops. The chants were also very threatening. Alog the lines of 'YOU are ALL Darryl Wilson, we want ya all DEAD. '

So the cops pulled back and retreated, the crowds cheered, and later just a few cops came out and were talking to various activists, negotiating with them about the release of the 7 that were arrested.

Once cop was standing in the street, trying to keep it clear for traffic. He was not a Ferguson cop, some nearby town. So a very loudmouth female, who has been very vocally abusive for weeks, starting yelling at him, "Where's your Name Tag???!!!! Officer, Where is It !!!!"
She was yelling it over and over, and finally, he turned his head to her and smiled and said quietly " It's OK, ..."

I didnt hear him say 'babe' but apparently this woman did, and she immediately yelled back " SIR, are you SEXUALLY OBJECTIFYING ME????"

And the livestreamer jumped in and said ' were you being sexually inappropriate with this woman, officer? ' WHATS YOUR NAME, for the report!

And suddenly the crowd is screaming for a supervisor because they want this guy reported for innapropriate something or other...RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!

It is such a lose/lose situation for these officers. He was trying to calm the situation and then gets called out for a BOGUS accusation. Later on in the night the livestreamer continued to discuss the 'incident' AS IF an officer really did act inappropriately with a female marcher. SMH

ETA: THis Is not a racial remark, as the livestreamer is white and the officer is Hispanic and the woman is AA.

So, from that article, most protestors left Wurms' lot as asked, but two threatened to vandalize the store. After him hosting you for a month?? Couldn't believe my eyes that one protestor quit two jobs to join the protests. And one of those arrested last night was homeless. Same guy?? I hope they get back to taking care of their real lives. For those who haven't been arrested before, a record won't help them move past this once Michael's case is decided.

Update: Just got #Ferguson police report of attempted molotov cocktail attack on #FaraciPizza on Sunday. bit.ly/1pm2u5Q
https://twitter.com/D_Towski/status/516635885530382336

We interviewed Dawne Marshall Sunday night. A few hours before she'd discovered three scorched patches of sidewalk and broken glass outside the store, the result of what she believes were Molotov cocktails that rolled off the restaurant's sloped roof.

"Well they started surrounding him. I'm sure there were cuss words thrown back and forth, and when we finally got my husband back in here they were all at my windows, pointing at my husband and saying, 'We're going to get you.'"

On Saturday the restaurant received a flood of fake pizza orders over the phone.

The social media attacks on Faraci Pizza continued over the weekend.

Long two story article with pictures here:
http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/da...son_police_orders_pizza_restaurant.php?page=2

From police report at link:

The bottles were located on the southwest corner. the bottles were both charred as if they were set on fire, and had paper wick located inside of the neck of one of the bottles. The ground where the bottles had been smashed was completely charred as if it was on fire at some point.

Thanks for posting that, katy. I missed a bunch of last night online. Yeah, it's strange. Same with Faraci's above. A perceived slight turns into Molotov cocktails? There must be so many there walking on eggshells (too, lol). I wonder how long that's been the case. Was it a more subtle siege that the law abiding residents and LE dealt with? Could that be one of the reasons Chief Jackson and apartment managers were working together?

Are there any protests planned for tonight? Wonder how they feel about what happened today with Mr. Brooks? I would not post the links as I believe everyone knows what they are. Unless a poster wants the link you can just tell them and they can watch on their own. The protesting has been written up by MSM.

Thanks! Agenda here. I wonder if it will help? There sure are a lot of opportunities for people to talk about this there. I've never lived in a neighborhood with this many meetings, lol. Do you guys think they're helping? Hopefully some ears are ready to hear.

Ferguson was off the chart last night... I went to bed very disgusted by many things, including those doing the live streaming for encouraging the protesters. In the beginning they were pretty neutral, not so much now. jmo

I haven't seen anything specific about protest location or technique tonight, but haven't looked for awhile. I did see some say they won't stop til GJ finishes. Can't imagine they could do this with this intensity til mid-November!

I thought the bike protest was creative, and they're getting lots of exercise with the stay moving rule. The protestors thought they were being sneaky with the bike thing, but instead I think some of this interaction with LE is actually helping some of them grasp how to operate within the law. Some didn't care and invaded the street again and seemed surprised when arrested as they were warned. Makes me the think of Michael and advancing when told to freeze.

they're setting up the relationships prior to the g/jury announcement = smart imo. hopefully they're doing alot more cause it was so sad to read what those business owners are going thru.

that faraci article is a must read as it gives both sides of the story. a pistol turned into a shotgun - oh my! and the comments are also pretty interesting.

They are at Ferguson PD already and Zachary from Lost Voices 14 just tweeted he's being arrested.

Speaking of building relationships and prepping for the decision, these guys are coming this week. Originally, they weren't gong to come until the Ferguson October rally.

Leaders from the Ten Point Coalition, an Indianapolis-based anti-crime group, are heading to Ferguson, Mo., this week to meet with members of the troubled St. Louis suburb’s faith community.

Harrison said Ten Point ultimately wants to help Ferguson brace for the results of a grand jury investigation into Brown’s death.

“They tried to apologize but they didn’t make much headway,” said Harrison. “Seems like the people that were there demonstrating really didn’t want to hear that. The only thing that seems to satisfy them is that the officer who shot Michael Brown being arrested seems to be the only thing that will calm them down.”

“What seems to be absent right now is the lack of leadership and you really don’t have anybody in charge and some of the people who seem to be speaking, in my opinion, are encouraging this kind of disrespectful behavior we are seeing right now in Ferguson.”

On live stream, protesters were telling LE that he actually shot at them the night he pulled the gun. They told LE... we have video of it..oh, we can't find it right now! :gaah:
