Support for Officer Wilson is fast approaching $185,000.

I'm so happy to see that people are educating themselves about the facts of this case and not listening to the propaganda and such being spewed forth by MSM, attorneys and "activists" with agendas.

Unfortunately, I have a horrible feeling that Officer Wilson will be sacrificed because most higher ups don't have the guts to stand firm on what is right. I hope I'm wrong.

You know what?? I thought that at first myself. But the more I think about it, the more I realize that it's going to be OK. These things tend to have a way of working themselves out. It is very rare that someone in a very high profile case like this is going down without a major fight, particularly if the person is innocent, which I believe very strongly that he is. Zimmerman was "not guilty" even though there was a huge push to get a conviction on him and he wasn't even a cop! The Duke rape case - yes, they were put through the ringer, but were ultimately exonerated. This is still America, and I cannot honestly think of one high profile case like this where I felt an innocent person was convicted based upon "mob rule." I've seen plenty of people who were clearly guilty get off (OJ, Casey Anthony, etc....) But the one great thing about this nation is that the legal system, does do its job and it will be very difficult to get a conviction on this police officer under the gleaming lights of a courtroom. I predict right now that this will run its course, as the Trayvon Martin case did, as the Duke case did, and many others. It worries me that certain people what to agitate racial tensions as they are. It saddens me that many allow it and think that all of this craziness is going to make a difference. No. It doesn't. It makes it worse.

I am not naïve enough to believe that racism doesn't exist in our world. Of course it does. But it isn't as rampant as many would like for us to believe. I am a white woman and have a Hispanic and an African American child, as well as a white child - all adopted. And for the most part, they are treated the same in all of our social circles. Our neighborhood is almost all white, but my kids are among the very most popular kids in their schools and in their neighborhoods. They have more friends than they know what to do with. In all of my years being their mother, there has been only one racially difficult situation, and that was actually against me.

At the end of the day, the rule of law will prevail. Don't worry. Officer Wilson will be defended, he won't be fed to the wolves. There are plenty of people who "have his back."

LOL! I can only laugh. Where do you think this crowd got the idea to ask McCullough to step down?

It is so blatantly obvious that once again this is part of their agenda. How sad and truly pathetic.

Seems like the crowd is being allowed to congregate. They are calling for the DA to step down.. Why do I get the feeling that this is not going to end peacefully??

Because the one feed said the crowd has increased by 40-50 ppl in just the last 10 minutes?

Because we all get to pick when we have finally had enough??

Two sincere questions, I swear to you I am not trying to stir the pot. Trying to understand some things I currently don't. I often refer to decisions in the realm of, "is this the hill I want to die on", figuratively speaking. Sometimes I pick a battle in the beginning (often with my wife lol) and later realize I picked the wrong hill. So, first question is, do you have any pause that maybe this case isn't that hill? Second question...while I could never fairly even wonder what it is like to be black, I often look at the black on black violence and wonder why that never appears to be a phenomenon where people have finally had enough. Based on the number of deaths, it seems inner city street victims far outnumber white on black police victims. I think one reason people label Al and Jesse race hustlers is because the narrative on senseless deaths of young black men only seem to earn their attention when a white person is involved. I get the history and the scars that remain today. But as a community of black people, it would seem the Chicago type problem is a far greater threat to black young people than the Wilson/Brown case.

I hope you don't take my questions with any disrespect, none is intended. I'm not minimizing the impact of harassment and profiling, I'd be happy to learn more of your thoughts on that. I merely would like to know your thoughts on the comparison of youths dying way before their time. If you are not comfortable answering, that's cool, I promise not to make any negative comments...I still may on the case details and in the PP though! :)

I don't think he plans on being a cop anymore. Maybe. But I think he is more afraid of he or his family being attacked or killed in retribution.

I'd like to think that if Zimmerman is still walking around, Wilson will be safe. Fingers crossed! But I can certainly appreciate his fear, especially now.

Odd, that there is so much discussion about black parents warning about interactions with the police.

My parents had the exact same conversation with me, repeatedly. I'll admit as a teen, I was mouthy and sometimes defiant.
But the talks my parents had with me sank in... I was NEVER mouthy or defiant to a cop...ever. And it would never even cross my mind to.

When I was a teen I got mouthy with a judge and a police officer at different times. The officer threw me in jail and the Judge threw me in detention. I fought the law and the law won. I had to learn the hard way. Today if the judge says something to me I say yes your honor. The police tell me to move or not go somewhere or what ever they want me to do I say yes sir. Where would you like me to go. I have learned I do not want to pay the consequences for my actions today.I live by a saying. "If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.
Nothing changes.If nothing changes.

That's kind of funny since yesterday there was also a source saying there was a broken eye socket. I wonder if Gateway Pundit retracted what their source said yesterday. I checked earlier and they had not.

For some reason I thought a member of LE reported Wilson had the blowout fracture.??

Snipped by me

My belief is that regardless of the decision by the grand jury, the riots will escalate!

If he is not indicted, the blacks will be furious and will come into Ferguson by buses. If he is indicted, it will be a mixture of white and blacks that will swarm Ferguson. Yes, I know there are many good blacks that do not have the same mentality as those protesting in the streets of Ferguson!

Using Officer Wilson as a scapegoat to bring peace to Ferguson is not the solution!

My opinions only!

I think that WS'ers are more apt to looking at the full picture before forming an opinion.

I think the crowd quickly formed the opinion that this was an execution, and feel there is no need to hear any facts of the case other than he was shot 6 times. Cop should be arrested and convicted NOW for murder, no questions asked. And if you dare to suggest waiting to see what all the facts are, you are stupid, hateful, and a racist. :-)

I think the overall majority of protesters are asking for justice. Although they may believe justice means Wilson convicted.
Why do you think there are so many that hold this conviction, yet here on Websleuths it seems we are getting the exact opposite reaction? I don't know the answer to that, I am asking because I really would like to know peoples opinions why.

I worked in South Central LA for 10 yrs with At Risk kids tutoring program. I am not at all surprised that there is an exact opposite reaction between different world views.
For example, when I worked in the suburb that I lived in, with kids that needed help graduating, the parents tended to 'trust' me and accept that I told the truth about their kids missing school work, needing to make up tests, and not doing term papers. They would assume I was just a tutor attempting to help their kids graduate.

When I began working in the much more urban environment in south central, it was totally different attitude. I was often seen as 'the enemy' who was trying to prevent the kids from graduating. If I said there was a missing term paper, I would often be accused of taking the paper and throwing it away. There was a complete distrust of 'authority' and I was apparently authority, even though I wasn't at all. I was supposed to be a HELPER in a free program designed to aid kids at risk of not graduating. But the general attitude was so different to what I had been used to before.

I am sure there is a reason for the mistrust. But it might also be a vicious loop. The mistrust breeds mistrust and vice versa. IDK

Our neighbor was having a problem with neighbor kids in the neighborhood. Apparently, several had walked through his yard, ding-dong-ditched his house, etc...he'd just had enough. Couldn't take it any more and wanted it to stop. Well, the straw that broke his camels back was someone knocked down his mailbox one night. He was convinced it was my kids for some reason, I guess because we live the closest, and called the cops on us. He was mad, I mean really, really mad and demanded that the police arrest my son for doing this even though he had no proof that my son did it. I mean, enough was enough...someone had to pay!!! Well, guess what...my entire family, including my son, were out of the STATE at the time of the mailbox incident and had just come back that very morning when he discovered the mailbox. We had plenty of evidence to show that we were out of the state and there was NO WAY my son did anything to their mailbox.

To this day, my neighbor is still angry. He's angry that he couldn't pin it on my kid. He didn't get his justice and somehow, that was our fault. He is now committed to catching my son (and my other 2) in the act of doing something wrong. He comes out on his porch and stares at them when they walk home from school. He gives me dirty looks whenever I pass his house.

Now - we were lucky. We had proof that my son was innocent and he had no proof that my son was guilty. So while my neighbor is certainly justified in his anger that enough was enough, but guess what, no matter how angry he was he "picked the wrong straw." My guess is that some drunk came barreling down the road at night and hit his mailbox. Or maybe some other kid decided to break it for some reason. I don't know. But if his anger was a good enough reason to demand the prosecution of an innocent kid, then we'd be in big trouble right now.

So no - it doesn't matter that the black community is sick and tired of being harassed. Not in this case. It's not enough. In this case, all that matters is if Officer Wilson feared for his personal safety and was justified in the shooting. Period. End of story. I'm sorry. It's not how things work in this country.

For some reason I thought a member of LE reported Wilson had the blowout fracture.??

Fox is still reporting it as an orbital fracture, as of a half hour ago. Fox also had several captions where they stated Officer Wilson was "severely beaten", and "beaten nearly unconscious". Hannity, about half hour ago. (Sorry-- no screen caps, but I think it will be available either on youtube or in archives.)

Yes, you may be right, it may have been the governor. Holder did say however that he stands with the people of Ferguson.

No good deed goes unpunished.

Does anyone have a link to what the community wants? I'm not talking about the arrest of officer Wilson, or the DA or police chief to step down. What do they want? Do they want officers to spend more time in the community? Going door to door to meet the citizens they serve? Do they want in community recruitment days where locals can apply to be a police officer? Do they want more positive interaction? see Brimfield Police Facebook page for an example. How about the personal cams for the officers. Would they like to volunteer to help set them up for each officer? When this simmers down what steps can be taken to keep the community active, verbal, and involved?
