Nancy Grace has twins early

AAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW...........Congratulations, Nancy!!!!!
My prayers go out for you & the babies. I wish every happiness in the world to you & the twins. You deserve it!!!!

I love Nancy Grace!!!!

I admire Nancy and her tenacity for finding truth. Hard to say what any of us who had our fiance murdered in the prime of our lives would react to the 'criminal' world.

I bout jumped out of my computer chair when I saw the news about the NEW babies. GREAT news, she and her husband deserve this blessing. OLDER parents make great and careful parents and appreciate their children. You donut often hear of MORE mature parents being in the news headlines having purposefully HURT their own children. God Speed to all of them.

AGE does slow the body down, when dealing with tiny children, OOPS etc.

Just wondering HOW this blessed event will be handled with her heavy crime work load. A true King Solomon decision here, splitting her intense interests right down the middle. She is one of a kind, imop.

Awww I can't wait to see pictures of them. I bet they are gorgeous!!!

Congrats Nancy and David!!!

OK I am 44. Just starting a new relationship. Is it possible to get pregnant at my age?
And I am thrilled for Nancy and the babies.

Of course! And "naturally" as well. One of my friends at Church had a daughter three years ago at 46.

My former husband had two aunts, each of which had a baby after the age of 50, both unmarried at the time! This was 30 yrs. ago long before IVF and other medical intervention. Both were UNPLANNED!

Just found out today that one of my best friends is pregnant with her 8th child and she is 45....she'll be nearly 46 when the baby arrives!!

I am 47. I WOULD CUT OFF MY HEAD rather than have a baby at this late age. My BABY is 23.

That made me laugh! We are basically raising our granddaughter and she just turned 4 months! My husband said he didn't remember babies being so much work....Yeah, well they are...He asked me if I was ready for #5!!!! LOL I failed to see the humor in that question! I would rather cut my left foot off than go through that again, and I'm 41!!!!

Congrats to Nancy and David!!!!!!!!!!!

Welllll, a woman cannot git pregnint at age 20, 30, 40 er 80 if'n she donut have a BOYFRIEND, even I knew that hee hee.

Remember a year or so ago story about a woman who had cared for her elderly mom, then the mom died. This caregiver was 65 years old and looked younger and she convinced a doctor to do artificial insemination and SHE gave birth to twins. Wish they would do a followup on that!!!!!!! Think she lived in Brazil or someplace. :waitasec:

My mom gave birth to ME when she was 44, she was a great mom and so PROTECTIVE :behindbar <<<--THATS ME!!!!!!!!!!!!:boohoo:

I want to see pictures toooooooooooooooooo. Bet the media will make a circus out of Nancy and the babies. A great life, for all of them!!!
:blowkiss:

Do 'WE' think the Enquirer will do a spread on Nancy??? Hmmm.

As for the question on whether or not a woman can even have kids at the age of 48, obviously IVF with donor eggs was likely used. Anytime a woman is over 45 and has twins (with rare exceptions) generally donor eggs are used. The woman in Italy that had a baby in her 60's, also donor eggs. It is virtually impossible for a woman over the age of 49 to get pregnant using her own eggs even with IVF. My friends mom had her at age 47, total unplanned oops, and that is extremely unusual.

It is possible though nocgirl. My mom's friend at 46 went in to the dr because she thought she was going into menopause and she was three months pregnant her youngest was 20 at the time.

Actually twins can be more common during erratic ovulation, I was told this by my obgyn. Some months you may not ovulate and some months you might ovulate with two eggs with hormones fluctuating greatly.

becklynn, my daughter who is also 44 just had a beautiful baby girl. 6 lbs. 4 oz.

She'd had two invitros prior, this was natural.

SURE you can have a baby...........but at your age they'd consider you high risk so if you do get preg. try and a doctor with that speciality;

This happened with my mother. She was 43 when I was born and my dad was 52. I'm an only child.

I know that people live longer and are healther now than when I was born 61 yrs. ago, but the problem of late life pregnancies usually means the children don't have the benefit of knowing grandparents, and their elderly parents may not live long enough to see grandchildren. That's sad. I miss not having that experience of knowing grandparents.

Again I am not saying it is impossible for women in their 40's to get pregnant, but it is extremely hard, especially on their own. once you hit 40 the rapid decline in fertility generally starts. Most fertility clinics will not even do IVF on a woman over 45 without the use of donor eggs. The odds of a woman over 40 getting pregnant without fertility help is only 5% and it drops slightly with each year over 40.

My friend is 43 and pregnant with twins after her 4th round of IVF. Getting preg was a totally exhausting task for her and not easy. Most women cannot even afford to go through this much treatment but her insurance covered the first 3 rounds which were unsuccessful. she switched Dr's and the first time with the DR she got pregnant and I am not sure whether or insurance covered this one or not. The fact she even had IVF coverage through her insurance is a miracle.

Women need to know that the bio clock REALLY starts to tick in the late 30's. Ask Martha Stewart's daughter Alexis. She is 41 and has been open about her fertility struggles. she spends 20k a month in injections and treatments trying to get pregnant. She will tell any woman not to put child bearing on hold after 40. She got bad information from her ob/gyn who made it sounds like 40 was not too old to have a baby naturally.

I am 35 and 7 weeks preg with number 2. I am grateful I do not have fertility problems, alhough this one took over 6 months to conceive because i had a mass on my cervix that was blocking sperm. Once it was removed, I got prego next ovulation cycle

I'm 54 and still having regular periods. My doctor told me he has a patient who is 65, non menopausal and is on birth control pills because she is still fertile. Fertility does diminish for most beginning in the 30's, but not for all. As my doctor said, there are always some on each side of "normal".

We don't know if Nancy used fertility treatments or if this pregnancy was a natural thing. Either way, I am very happy for Nancy and her husband.

Preiods does not mean fertility, especially in the 40's and 50's. These women that still get their periods that age are very likely not fertile. sorry but not all ob/gyn's know their fertility stuff, some are not trained in that area at all. Egg quality is VERY poor and most likely the eggs are not good quality. A DR can test the quality of a womans eggs by giving an FSH test (follicle stimulating horomone) and I bet the FSH levels in most women over 45 are so high they are not fertile, but they still get periods. Most women in their late 40's early 50's are peri-menopausal with high FSH and estrogen levels. Women on birth control still get their periods but again most women on the pill do not ovulate.

Not a Dr of course
