Regarding the pacemaker's role in the investigation, the department said, "Investigators are attempting to locate the device and are working with the manufacturer and other experts in the field to assist in that effort."

The department's comments come after law enforcement sources told CBS News they are using a "signal sniffer" to assist in the search for Nancy in an attempt to detect signals from her pacemaker

David Kennedy, a former NSA hacker who created and provided the device to authorities, referenced helicopters flying "really low to the ground" near Nancy's home, and noted that the distance to be able to ping a signal from Nancy's pacemaker is "very low," CNN reported on Monday, Feb. 16.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department previously highlighted the significance of Nancy’s pacemaker in the investigation, revealing additional details about its role in an approximate timeline of her last known moments.

At 9:48 p.m., on Jan. 31, Nancy’s family dropped her off at home and the garage door was opened. Two minutes later, at 9:50 p.m., the garage door closed. This was the last time she was reportedly seen.

Several hours later, at 1:47 a.m., her doorbell camera was disconnected. At 2:12 a.m., the camera briefly detected a person. Then, at 2:28 a.m., Nancy’s pacemaker was disconnected from the monitoring app on her cellphone.

I’ve also floated the idea that he used the flowers to try to lure her to the door but I’m just not sure. If she saw something weird on the cam would she really open the door to see what it was, as an 84 year old woman living alone at 1-2am? But I suppose it’s possible, if she’s felt comfortable and safe in that house and neighborhood for all these years.

As a married older woman in a good neighborhood where I've lived for 30 years I have to say I don't even answer the door during the day unless I look at Ring on my phone and it shows me it's someone I know. In the middle of the night I would look at my phone first plus, I don't know about Nest but with Ring I can also talk with whoever is out there. I just have a hard time (like many of us) imagining a mentally sharp but not as mobile 84 yr old answering the door in the middle of the night unless it's someone she knew well. (I'm not in any way insinuating it was family. IMO they had nothing to do with it). MOO

I am also watching him ATM. Is it allowed to mention things we see in the live video from this person, or is that also against the rules? Just want to know, so I can do the right thing.

Thought it was interesting they were going through neighbors camera just a moment ago.
I can't believe the interest in the neighbor's camera on day what? 16. I would have thought that would be first day.

I am watching NewsNation on tv, they just reported that the FBI used a ladder to access a camera or a light on the back of Nancy's home.

JMO as I have nothing to link to..

I saw a live video from a source that is not allowed here. But it was the neighbors house they were doing it at.

I’m just hoping this is related to the dna in the house and not on that glove.

Glad they are on top of it. Even though this DNA is not in CODIS, I'm hopeful that LE will an close family member through DNA.

Since FBI and LE likely have processed the DNA of the people temporarily detained on Friday night and of the guy driving the Land Rover, those potential suspects must not match the DNA found.

We have heard very little about the DNA found in the house or on the property. I'd started wondering if LE was taunting possible suspects and trying to frighten the perpetuators with info about their DNA being in the house in order to get them scared enough to make a mistake (cell phone calls, rushing to somebody's house, etc)

Hoping this is the DNA on the gloves since that's the DNA that was supposed to have finished quality control by yesterday and be checked by FBI in CODIS.

"Nancy was last seen on January 31 at 9:45 p.m. when her "daughter" dropped her off at her Catalina Foothills home in Tucson"

So now I know what Sheriff Nanos meant when he said "approximately" and "I can't stress this enough" about the dropping off of Nancy and the garage door opening and closing.

Statements like this should have been shared early on imo.
It would have cleared up much speculation.

One on One interview with Sheriff Nanos:

WATCH: One-on-One interview with Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos on Nancy Guthrie case

Wait...her daughter dropped her off, not her son in law? I thought all this time people were saying he dropped her off.

Seems to be a camera? Is he checking it with his phone? Like positioning it different ways to see what the video would look like?

Maybe the neighbors camera had something and they’re trying to confirm exactly where the something was?
I may only hope that they recovered footage a while back and not just now.

Not NG’s house, the house next door, from the Mac Colson video tweet posted above.

That seems quite possible.

Hopeful about this possible lead.

Wishful thinking. I can't see them flat out lying like that.
My thought exactly. The FBI put out a statement after the glove went through preliminary DNA analysis. My suspicion is it matched DNA in the house. Why else put out a statement on a random glove found 2 miles away?

I hope they have looked at commercial and government satellites to see if any were in the general area around the time this occurred. They're not as fancy and as detailed as TV and movies portray, and video isn't likely either, but they can be used retroactively to identify and track vehicles, etc. if they were over the area.

Can someone please refresh my memory, did we ever hear WHERE in NG’s home the unidentified DNA was located?

I ask because since we know that the DNA is not Nancy’s nor any family member’s, I’d have to assume it was in some out-of-the-way place?

Obviously Nancy’s DNA SHOULD be in her home, along with AG’s and TC’s, since they lived nearby and presumably were often in her house.

This may well have been explained 1000 pages ago, but at the moment I cannot recollect it.

TIA
I don’t believe they’ve revealed that information.

LE has made a renewed appeal for any dates in January and perhaps people have now gone back to early January on their cams rather than the days right before and the night of the crime. JMO

As someone who pops in and out and doesn't always post or comment, I notice the thread is slowing down (it was NUTS last week), and that saddens me.

Yeah a universal cheapo vinyl holster profiled for a 6" large frame revolver hanging low off a belt loop in some goofy approximation of appendix carry with a late gen small frame semi auto tucked in is not the way to go if your life depended on it, or if you just don't want your gun falling out w/ any real movement. You also see them in $5 dollar bins at gun stores or yard sales.

But what's also strange is having a list of 40 guys and checking gun shops. AZ is a constitutional carry state that allows face to face cash private sales with no paperwork for handguns. It is also legal to borrow a gun. I highly doubt this guy went to his LGS and filled out a 4473 to buy the gun. But given the footage we saw on the Nest cam maybe Mr. Walmart Ninja did.
But maybe he needed ammo.....

Would you need to remove a camera to get the footage though? Is that common?
Maybe if you haven’t been able to get in touch with, or permission from, the home owner, until you get a warrant?
