I think all family and others are suspects. This guy may have been the one to take her home last night. He may be the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. He does make some wild music, though... one album entitled: Life:Love::Love:Murder. The band is Early Black and they play in the Tucson area. Maybe someone with more insight into this music could add to this. Otherwise, it is reported that he taught biology.

There's absolutely nothing "wild" about the band or their music, I took the time to listen to them. Not sure where this is coming from, 50 year old teacher plays bass, it's more like a hobby at this level. I know it's not, like, country music or something, but genre-wise, nowadays, drill-rap could mean we should have a closer look at him

Could have been a bruise from a blood draw or IV during surgery (I saw the picture, too, but can't remember the placement of the bandage).

I noticed the bruises and assumed that they were the result of taking blood thinners. My Mom took blood thinners and I recall she occasionally had similar bruises as a result.

It is my understanding- someone correct me if I’m wrong - that the front door camera was not a nest. The front door had a recording/working camera, so was maybe a ring camera??

The front door camera was almost surely a Nest. I am 99.9% sure. There is a clear and close-up photo of the front door area showing the locks as well as the (now empty) door camera/doorbell bracket, and it looks exactly like a Nest doorbell mounting bracket, for a battery-powered (not wired) Nest doorbell. I suppose it's possible that some other brand uses an identical bracket, or that they had somehow mounted a different brand on a Nest mounting bracket, but I think it's pretty unlikely. Occam's Razor says that it was a Nest doorbell.

I think the sole purpose of taking her out of the house was to get rid of any evidence which to me means it was someone already in the database or like a fam. member who LE can compare possible traces of dna with.
Also i think it's someone that has something to lose, someone with a job and a family.
For example, a meth addict wouldn't care or even think about being caught, so getting rid of evidence is not their priority after commiting a crime.
Some thought has gone into taking her from the scene.

What are the chances the one responsible was a healthcare person, gardener, maid, electrician, etc? 40%

What are the chances the one responsible was a family member? 60%

What are the chances the police and FBI will eventually solve this case? 80%

When do I think a person(s) will be arrested? Within the next 10 days.

I am pretty close to your percentages...I would however raise the percentage on electrician, etc and lower on family member.

Does anyone remember early on when the ransom note was reported on, that it was mentioned somewhere about the Thursday/Monday deadlines. But then in the last 24 hours people were responding like it was new information. I could have sworn I'd already heard that somewhere earlier. From what I recall, it was ransom to be sent by Thursday and to be received in their account by Monday. When I heard that I thought well maybe they are allowing time for the transfer - so pay by Thursday and it better be in my account by Monday.

I thought it was originally reported as pay x amount by Thursday or the price goes up and you have until Monday to pay the higher amount or else. Seems like i heard that the day TMZ reported the ransom note but not sure about that

So what did taking NG actually accomplish?

If the ransom was not the main objective:
1. We know it prevented SG from going to Italy. Covering the Olympics usually means feel-good stories. So, did she have something else on her schedule that might have been destructive to someone's life? The possibility of her discovering a dark secret in TC's background tugs at my mind. However, since he's been in the family for such a long time, surely SG would have already checked him out if she wanted to. Has something come up recently?

2. It also brought the son home from Vermont. How did that change his schedule? We simply don't know.

3. Did it prevent something happening in the life of Annie and TC?

4. Or was it a break-in gone bad and simply scheduled on a bright full-moon night?

What has been accomplished? How could something be big enough to risk prison for kidnapping, possibly murder?

I really, really want to know more about this. We have heard that NG had not attended church in person since Covid. Was NG planning on making an exception to attend this particular Sunday? Did the perp think she would keep up her normal routine of watching the service remotely? Or did the perp know ahead of time that she had made special arrangements to attend in person this particular Sunday?

Me too. This is a piece of the story that is still ambiguous. It’s a simple question: was she in the habit of attending church in person, every Sunday? I realize we the public aren’t owed an explanation, but it’s an innocuous bit of information that one would think wouldn’t jeopardize their investigation. IMO. I haven’t seen an official disclosure that gives a definitive answer.

MOO I think this is “smoke” (as in, ‘where there’s smoke there’s fire’), and I don’t know why there was no further information about this pivotal (IMO) point in the narrative. (The other point is who dropped her at home and
when) It’s a small question, but I think the answer is a big piece of the puzzle. And we don’t know it. JMO

I've been leaning on the AB theory, but now leaning on a possible scenario in which this is someone living in Tuscon, who knows TC/AG. Previous criminal background, maybe a drug problem and/or psychopath. (TC's bandmate is reported to have a criminal history).

Given NG's connection to SG the 'abduction' would get the media attention they crave, and with SG's wealth, they might have a chance at actually getting the Bitcoin. A nice older lady with trouble walking, living alone in an isolated neighborhood, would not be hard to subdue for them.

Did the perp know that TC went to drop NG off that night, and therefore, if they did it then, TC would be the last person to see her, and they were alone together, so TC would be suspect not them, throwing LE off.

Either way surely LE is onto not only looking at family but those close to them. Maybe when LS declined the rule out family publicly, it was a red herring, they were trying to make the perp or perps think that family was the suspect instead of the actual suspect they are looking at.

Maybe it did not go as planned, and NG was no longer with us which is why the ransom letter says this will be the only contact. They can't give proof of life, and also more risk getting caught.

Such a disgusting, sad, shocking and unbelievable event. My heart goes out to SGs family and friends. Heartbreaking to watch this go on.

Yeh. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Either way, i don’t think the motive for taking her was actually for ransom. It almost seems like they know this, so they aren’t taking the ransom seriously?? That’s why i don’t think ransom was the motive. Maybe the note IS real, but was only written to throw LE off the right track.

I agree. I’m feeling this may have nothing to do with a ransom and that the actual motive is something entirely different than what’s being discussed. Not wanting to elaborate just now.

Lots of "parts" to the disappearance of NG but not the one thing to pull it together. Extremes are she's either deceased or the entire disappearance is a hoax. Money is somehow involved - maybe. As baffled as everyone, including law enforcement.

I do think if the perp was hired help that they would have taken valuables from the house - unless the person was paid solely to abduct NG for someone else. Maybe a reason posters don't know about? Beginning to think this was not just done by one person. Just think the intruders are gone from the area, state, maybe the country.

She couldn't be abducted w/o a car so why can't LE get a hit on a vehicle? Even a vehicle on an adjacent street at that hour of the morning?

With the proliferation of ring cameras and other video systems, I am 100% certain LE has seen a vehicle that is involved.

However, at night it is very difficult to get a detailed view of a license plate of a moving or even stationary. At least LE is going to be able to get the make and model and possibly the color (or light or dark) vehicle.

With that, as they fan out to neighboring area, they might find where the vehicle entered the area... and possible an actual clear picture of the vehicle stopped at a traffic light or something.

In a case like this where YOU KNOW there is a vehicle involved, it takes a very long time to gather all the video to trace the vehicle from where it came from. I fully expect they have done that an maybe have followed that thru governmental websites to see that the car came from Ora Valley for example.

Are we too harsh on AG and TC? We have no proof that they are involved.

After all, we might be looking at a very different situation.

Two children, both successful, have demanding lives and careers far away.

The third one lives next to the mom (who owned her house since when? Long, long ago). They are not wealthy. But the daily
needs of the mother are met by them.

So what if AG and TC were good people who didn't bother anyone with their mom's needs? And nothing more than that?

And maybe a mother who is retired and a daughter who is a poet and her hubby who is an elementary school teacher are in a bad spot just because they took it upon themselves to meet all mom's daily needs?

I am not prepared to suspect them unless I have better proof.

i agree with you that she was probably living frugally (IMO) but part of that is because IMO she is not wealthy like people keep alluding to being a reason for her abduction.

we don't know that they took care of her. the only thing i've seen is she has people come in to help (assuming gardeners, house cleaners, pool person). my sister lived minutes away from my parents (I'm across the country) and she rarely if ever was around to do things for them. when i would ask my mom if sis helped with this or that it was always "she's busy". so i'm not giving a blanket "they took care of all mom's daily needs to them" without verification.

BUT i'm not in the camp that either of them had anything to do with NG's abduction and i feel really bad what this is doing for him/them.

Ok maybe the ransom note mentioned the band which played in the Tucson area and that is why HL from TMZ thinks the perp is from the Tucson area or its surrounding area.

Question for Sleuthers: why do you think there are pieces of boxwood or other shrubbery by the front door? Near the doormat and drops of blood?

I think the doorstep simply had not been swept in some time. I think the blood is old and not related to her disappearance at all. LE has not mentioned any other blood in the home, have they? If this was some sort of serious injury, there would be a lot more blood, for one thing. The elderly have very thin, fragile skin. It's a normal part of aging. I wouldn't be surprised if she nicked herself on a finger or her arm at some point in the past and lost a few drops of blood on the doorstep. That's been my thought process thus far.

IMO the only way family could be involved with this, and it have a purely financial motive like inheritance or property, is if she were left in a location where she would actually be found or someone associated with them facilitated a ransom demand (in which case she would likely be alive and medicated). But family can't get an inheritance or claim someone's property without a death certificate, and the state wouldn't declare her deceased for years without a body. So if they were involved it would not be in their financial (inheritance) interest to take her away from the scene at all, and if they did take her away not to put her in a place that she couldn't be found easily.

This is why I'm not thinking family financial motive.

I have been thinking about the Erin Patterson case, and wondering (MOO) what her text messages Saturday evening into Sunday morning will reveal. Could she have been poisoned at the dinner? Could she have felt some malaise and contacted the perpetrator on her phone to come assist her? Only for them to not have good intentions? Or googling medical symptoms from a personal device.

And along that front, have detectives/LE checked local dumpsters? I also have the Emmanuel Haro case in mind (PS, where is that boy?!) and the parents claiming they put the boy in a dumpster. Could the perpetrator(s) have put her into a dumpster as well? In addition to all of the desert out there which I have seen discussed. I don't have foundation for either of these to be clear!
