is it possible they're just using AG & T's house as a base for processing and documenting evidence found at NG's? would that ever happen? if they believe it's a legit ransom from someone who still has NG and they believe them to be in the area, maybe they don't want to go too far?
Wouldn't that involve potentially harming or contaminating evidence? I know vehicles are often transported and processed to more specialist centres for evidentiary inspection, however.

Of course. It is as most likely intentionally crafted by the fbi.

Interesting. I try to put myself in the situation of me and my 2 siblings and our mother is missing. Possibly 1 of my siblings has right or wrong, been deemed a person of interest, at least in the public eye, from the get go. That same 1 sibling has a partner who might be involved and I'm wondering what my 1 sibling knows or doesn't know. The most recent video to me seems like SG and her brother now know something about AG, and or her partner and my guess is that AG perhaps didn't/doesn't know exactly but now is possibly suspicious too and her grief, guilt is the emotion we saw. All JMO
IF the partner/ husband...I can't remember his name and know nothing about him...is involved, where is he now? Is he included in everything 'family' going on this last week?? Are they all congregated in one place waiting, grieving, etc.?

Can you imagine dealing with the disappearance of your mom, the possibility of her death, on top of having media surrounding your home and being scrutinized as possible suspects?!? I would definitely live somewhere else if I were in their shoes!
And that brings me to another wonder.

There has to be a serious embargo or superinjunction on photos of anything to do with this case.

I was watching Brian Entin's youtube last night... something I didn't know... The family didn't find the blood by the front door, Brian thinks it was the Sheriff deputies that noticed it.

It should be cued up at the right time, but it's around the 24 minute mark.

Having elderly parents myself that really surprises me. When I come over to check on them and they are present, I still scan everything to give me an idea of what happened when I was at home.

If one of them were missing I’m sure I’d be in a panic, but I also believe I’d be looking at the surroundings of their home even more carefully.

I agree. The emotion from AG could be for herself. The realization that she or partner/husband are still under scrutiny. A more self serving emotion...sadness or fear... or maybe she is/was unaware that someone close to her is/was involved and now she knows and it's guilt. IMO, her partner/husband is involved possibly with others. The event of what was to come totally unknown to AG and that realization brought out this emotion finally. We know SG was very close to her mom and supposedly AG was too but to what extent we do not know and her brother CG, we know very little about him or his part in any caregiving of NG
Everyone handles stressful situations differently. My sister is calm, matter of fact, and a cheerful demeanor. I hold my breath when I'm stressed, talk breathlessly, close my eyes to hold back full-on sobbing. I don't see anything from the Guthrie children that indicate they are part of this disappearance. But we know the earlier Instagram video was filmed at AG's house, implying they were living there at least earlier this week. And then they leave and the searches are carried out while they are elsewhere. Interesting...
I would leave too with all the media there.

It could be that the family said, sure, go ahead and search, we have nothing to hide. I imagine LE still got a warrant anyway, but no attorney being there seemed odd for me if the family was concerned at all about the search. And if the deputies that were there found anything alarming, I would have expected crime scene tape to be put up or at least the house to be secured, but they left after a few hours.

All JMO

My thoughts on opening the garage door... if someone is dropping me off at home, I would walk in through my front door. If I'm not parking a vehicle in the garage its not likely I'm opening that door. Do people really do this? Maybe it just makes more sense with the layout of her house. Was it opened because someone knew there would be a record of it being opened?

MOO
It’s easier for our family to come in through the garage. We also have a keypad opener mounted outside the garage. We routinely use the keypad/garage instead of the front door.

If they are still not cleared a week later what does that say?

It looked like they were doing luminal testing, which, imo, is far beyond what is done to rule someone out. My opinion.

But, time will tell. I hope it's not family as that would be absolutely torture on top of the heartbreak.

jmopinion
Agree. I hope it's not family but I've it felt from the beginning it is. It does not make logical sense that LE would spend this much time over the last week at AG's house, getting a search warrant and impounding their car, taking evidence from the garage, etc. if they weren't serious suspects. They haven't given this much time or attention to any other location aside from NG's house.

They are not doing all this just to rule them out. Ruling out would have been done within a day of just looking at AG's house's Ring cam footage, license plate readers and traffic cameras along the route between houses, and phone/watch data. Obviously whatever they have said for timeline and whereabouts isn't matching with that technical data and could explain why the car is being looked at, if the car was seen outside of their supposed timeline. I also believe AB and her source didn't pull this info out of thin air and she is a reliable crime journalist with sources she trusts. JMO!

Is it true that the media has discovered how much the ransom amount was or is that news untrustworthy? Opened up an article believe it was from Fox and it said the ransom amount was for six million.

I am about 30 pages behind here but at this point what is striking to me all the concentration at AG's house both inside and out. While AB may have gone out on a limb with her tip I am now thinking LE is focusing on Annie and her husband.. If AG or/and her husband are involved I don't know how SG will make it thru this. All those photos being taken are not of the mahjong game!

From what I’ve heard it was only sheriff not FBI searching AG’s house last night.. it’s strange to me that it would be Pima co. and not the FBI searching.

We never use the front door at my parent’s house. If they know we’re coming over they will open the garage door in advance. If they don’t, we’ll open it ourselves because we know the code (and I’m pretty certain we’ve also had our car buttons hooked up to open it as well in cars past). The garage has light, it goes directly into the spaces where we hang out. The front door, like NG’s has a security door, will be locked, and nobody wants to be disturbed by the doorbell.

I have had to go to mom's this past week early in the morning (to give her dang cat his insulin lol) I have been parking out front and have had to ask her to unlock the front door for me because... I have NEVER used it and don't even have a key for it. We usually use the backdoor and it has a keypad. I was thinking I should probably have a key for that door lol

I don't think it would be odd at all if the family also used the garage to enter the home. I think it is quite normal for everyone to have their preferred entrance into their home and family follows suit.

It might be easier for her to go in through the garage than navigate the front walkway in the dark. If there are any small steps or turned in the walkway I could see wanting to avoid that when it’s not light out. I only go in and out through the garage because I am lazy and don’t feel like using my front door key. My car has a push button start so I have my keys tucked away in my purse and never physically touch them.

I don't know. I'm baffled by the timeline, but it is possible the phone and the body were together until they weren't. Someone can carry a phone back to the house in the middle of the night and place it somewhere distinctive that the ransom-note writer knew about.

jmo
But wouldn’t the phone record that?

Honestly, there has been so much happening on this case and so many twists and turns it's easy to get lost.

If we zoom out, I feel Occam's Razor leads us to the solution. What is the probability an 84 year old is randomly kidnapped and held ransom? What is the probability someone is kidnapped or murdered by someone known to them?

I feel the detail about NG being the mother of a famous morning show anchor is interesting / coincidental but not actually relevant at all to what happened.
I don’t think it is coincidental that NG is the mother of SG, a famous and successful and rich TV host. Even if NG was kidnapped by someone known to her, I think it is related to that fact. Think about this - AG and SG are siblings and very close in age. I saw it mentioned somewhere that AG considered her and her sister to be close like the sun and the moon. That is an odd comparison but telling because the sun always overshadows the moon. The moon is seen only when the sun goes down. Anyway, not a stretch to think AG is resentful that her sister is very successful but has no ongoing responsibility to their mom other than showing up for photo ops or featuring NG on her show. AG on the other hand was stuck caring for the mom even if the mom lived independently. I am sure she couldn’t travel whenever she pleased without making sure someone was available to help the mom in an emergency. In such a scenario, what if she thought a “harmless kidnapping” would make SG cough up a few millions as ransom? It may not have seemed like a crime in her mind. Just payout for bearing the brunt of the elderly parent care. MOO. Hope NG is found safe.

Your assuming it was a premeditated murder. I'm thinking it was a manslaughter/2nd degree murder type situation.
Yes, that's the only way I can see him involved. But then you have to consider him transporting the body. LE would be all over that with vehicle and phone etc evidence, and he'd likely be in custody by now. And then there's his wife. Is she involved? Honestly her demeanor in the videos makes me believe if she knew anything, she'd crack in a heartbeat. I just can't see it.

I'm an old person. I never use the front door because of the steps, plus I have a ramp in the garage, plus the mud room is by the inside door in the garage. It's just easier.
