The mouth looks extremely off. I don’t think this is the perpetrators actual mouth. There is a further level of concealment going on.

Carrying a flashlight in his mouth makes me hopeful he might have dribbled a bit of saliva around the porch.

My thoughts/observations. Perp walks up to door, no visible gun--turns around to what would then be the left (if your standing in the doorway looking out). Has an awkward bend, where the right hand is not visible, then proceeds back to where the flowers are and reemerges with the gun showing.

My question is, when he/she did that awkward bend, were they pulling the gun out from under the jacket?

As MassGuy said above, do not post alterations of official images. Enlargements of official images are okay, but no other changes.

Also, side by sides are not allowed. There may be many people who have similar features and we can't have them being displayed to compare with images of a killer. That's just wrong.

He must have come up to the house twice. Assuming the one of the right occurred first, where was his backpack and gun/holster at that time? Did he have a vehicle?

Could there be 2 people dressed alike? Crazy idea? But why do we not see the gun and backpack in one photo..

Why wait a week to release these photos?

Nancy didn't have a Nest subscription so video/images weren't instantly available and would have been overwritten after 3 hours of continuous footage. Also, investigators on NBC stated the decision to release the video/images could have been left up to the family. Guthries could have waited till post ransom letter deadline.

The camera has an IR illuminator that is bathing the area in invisible IR light. You can tell things about the chemistry of objects by the way they reflect or absorb light...

And why is he playing with the plants and the camera before he destroys it?

Clip-on light makes sense. They are small and he could also remove it quickly, but when it's clipped to something, you have your hands free.

I think the backpack has 2 built in lights, at the top of each strap. When he turns them off, it looks like he's not wearing a backpack anymore because it blends with clothing on the camera. But if you look closely you can see the tension of the straps still there against clothing.

Wait I think they may be clip on lights on the backpack straps. Not sure if built in.
