Police have said they will give an update on Thursday. I wonder if they are wrapping things up
Interesting that they give this as the day for an update and its also the day the “kidnappers” want the money by.
I think LE has reason to believe she was alive as she left the house (actively bleeding speaks to that, evidenced by the blood by the door). IMO there are reasons why someone might abduct someone -- versus killing them on-site --

Taken to assault them at a secondary location (I'd say, low probability in this case).
Assaulted at this location, removed to another to hide the body, to hide DMA, to delay discovery, etc.
Taken alive for because they need to be alive, as in the case of ransom

The $64,000 question: why did the perpetrator/s leave with a live victim?

There are a limited number of answers to the question.

JMO
Agree. Also, If she is no longer w us and it was some sort of accident due to negligent or reckless behavior, and the person responsible has something to lose by admitting it, they would also take the victim…and perhaps say she was kidnapped…

Hmmmmmm….sounds familiar

I’m surprised that we haven’t heard about a suspicious vehicle etc seen on neighbors security cameras etc. Seems like the type of neighborhood that would have plenty of cameras. I would have suspected to have heard about that within a few days. Perhaps authorities are still working on what vehicles seen on cameras have reasons to be in that area etc etc. I just really thought when the story first broke we’d have a make and model of vehicle very quickly. Not sure what to think at this point tbh. Only thing I can figure is that investigators know who owns the vehicles seen in the neighborhood and or have suspicion of someone close to the victim. moo

There was a reporter on CNN yesterday who showed a video he took of him driving and walking all around NG’s neighborhood at night to give viewers an idea of the area.

When he turned off his flashlight it was so dark, pitch black, that you wouldn’t be able to see your hand put up in front of your face.

He said the homes there are all located on large 1+ acre lots and the way the homes are situated on those lots makes each home isolated from the next. He said there are also some slight hills in the neighborhood which makes it difficult to have a straight, clear view from one house to the next. He commented that he doubted that home video or Ring doorbell cameras would be able to capture anything from their neighbors homes due to the way the homes were situated.

It was very informative and I looked all over for the video online last night but I wasn’t able to locate it.

See, this is part of what makes me think they know she was alive when she left the house. Stopped synching is a totally different thing to 'indicated cardiac arrest', which would surely have alerted someone or show up on the records.

Stopped synching suggests (or doesn't it?) that it went out of range. Suggesting that she travelled out of range of the phone (which we know was left in the house).

Edited to add: Admittedly I know nothing about pacemakers! I'm just inferring from what I'm reading on this thread so far.
Excellent points @Cardgame .

A lot to consider ... did someone close to her know that if the pacemaker synched to her watch would not 'alert' if she was just out of range, as opposed to stopping suddenly within her home that indicated an emergency-- maybe not a home intruder but where she had a heart attack, stroke, etc.
Something that would send a message to emergency services.

It appears that planning and premeditation went into Nancy's disappearance ?

I don’t fully understand either. According to this post, they don’t stop after you die immediately,

A little google on Pacemakers. My mom had one for years ,when she passed away it was turned off.
I'm sure by now they have a close time of when she passed .

A pacemaker does not automatically stop when you die; it will continue to send electrical signals until its battery dies, which can last for several days or even years. Although the device remains active, it cannot keep a person alive or prevent death from terminal illness or heart failure.
Key Details About Pacemakers and Death:
  • Continued Operation: The device keeps pacing, but the heart muscles become too weak (acidotic) to respond to the signals.
  • Deactivation: While not required, pacemakers can be turned off by a doctor, nurse, or technician using a special magnet or programmer to allow a natural death.
  • ICDs vs. Pacemakers:While a pacemaker just paces, an Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) might deliver uncomfortable shocks at the end of life, so deactivating ICDs is common in hospice care
    .
    • Cremation Warning: If the body is being cremated, the pacemaker must be removed beforehand because the intense heat can cause it to explode.
A pacemaker is not designed to recognize death; therefore, it continues to function mechanically until it is manually turned off or the battery fails.

It was about 11pm mountain time I believe, and it was her “ drop dead serious” channel”
At the time of watching it last night, I was thinking that AB should be concerned about being sued.

Too bad NG did not have one of those devices that alert for help when "you've fallen and can't get up". She could have pressed it for help with the intruder, maybe.

A dog like a Pitt Bull could have been helpful, unless of course, the dog knew and liked whom ever was coming through the door.

Wow she is making the rounds and sticking with it.

“They now believe the SIL may be the prime suspect”
Yes, AB is very confident in her source that is a "very high level LE". If the FBI did indeed seize, tow and impound Savannah's sisters car yesterday, that does speak loud volumes. My question is, how did not a single news reporter at their house not a get a photo of the car being towed?

Right. She might find herself facing major litigation for libel.
Pretty sure she would win that litigation as she was reporting what her source told her - if that source was inaccurate she might lose credibility for reporting it but I don’t think she could be held libel. Note I am not an attorney and this is only my own understanding of the libel laws regarding the press.

Her apple watch would have done that in an actual fall with no button pushing needed. there is also a way to activate an emergency yourself... but my understanding is the watch was on the charger.

It’s going to be a problem for her with backlash.just even for possibly risking the investigation?? but I think that’s how she is, she says stuff that can get her into a little trouble. She is a little defiant and she is going to speak her mind no matter what. I wonder where she is getting her info from?.

That's an excellent point. Makes you wonder if the watch was a consideration for the perp or if they just got lucky.

Hey Everyone.
In case you didn't see my post about the Banfield video and her naming of a suspect here it is.

  • #2,815
Even if her cameras were not recording, wouldn’t they be able to tell what time they were disconnected from the server?

Inquiring minds want to know...

I'm thinking that at this point do we really even believe the timeline about dropping Mrs. Guthrie off at 9:30 or 9:45.
This is something that would be easily verified from phone downloads, surveillance, and witness statements.

Lie about this and you're going to be caught quick.

I believe this is going to be true, and the attack happened hours later. This really throws a wrench in that angle, as I see it.

I still think this is likely to be either random, or someone who has some sort of low level connection to Nancy.

Outside of the daughter and son in law, I wonder who saw her last, and when. We only have their word that she was dropped off and at what time.

Also, after watching Ashleigh Banfield both on her podcast and on Megan Kelly’s I totally believe her. She is very precise in her wording and makes sure to say whether something is a quote or a thought.

Waiting for the voice of reason all day...

Its very complicated if the SIL did this- he drops her off, then comes home, then goes back out for an extended period of time undetected. Or, they are both involved and lying. By now the FBI would know if there were holes in this story.

We would be seeing a different posture.

maybe they want her to leak it.
Given the apparent super close relationship between SG and AB, one does have to wonder.

On one hand, if AB is wrong... both her career and her close relationship with SG are so damaged.
And on that one hand---I really do dread for AB here.
And hope of all hope that no close family IS connected.

SG is a lawyer, and both AB and SG have strong journalistic background. They know how long this type of case, when/if they do end up with a prime suspect to be charged--a case like this can drag on and on and on in the courts.

What IF there is such evidence to have a prime suspect.... would family want to wait to "see you in court" or would they want to force a hand more quickly, before one prime suspect is totally lawyered up.

I dunno of course. And all Moo...
But I just cannot come up with anything else that would let AB jeapordize all.....
