I could have googled, so thank you! Just seemed weird to term it differently than dna to me. Maybe he was thinking, a source other than the blood. It does make me wonder if he was thinking of specific evidence.

For a family member who would already be in the line of an inheritance, or whose spouse would be, this IMO would be a reckless way to get the money sooner.

Nancy is 84. Even if she lived ten more years, a family member doing this is on a high-wire act. So much can go wrong and you’ll never see the money if you get caught.

Which I fervently hope will be the case, no matter who did this.

I don't know that NG was rolling in money? The implication would be that if this was a kidnapping/ransom the money would come from SG's income. Otherwise yes, like you would think if NG wasn't in excellent health, why go through all this trouble.

I think it's either going to be an inside job and the ransom letter is not serious. Or, it is a true kidnapping and ransom and not a crime by family. Immediate family setting up an entire ransom scenario while the FBI is literally hanging out at their house would actually be insane. If the ransom letter is real and someone has her, I don't think it's family related.

It hasn't been, but in the press conference earlier the FBI agent present mentioned a 5pm (no timezone provided) deadline for today. There's a second deadline for sometime on Monday, but they didn't give a specific time for that one.

Edit: They're being pretty vague about what they think happened inside the house, sheriff's admitted he shouldn't have said 'taken from her bed'.

I wonder if LE was able to pinpoint where NG sustained the injury that resulted in the blood by the door. And from that surmise how the injury happened. Was she assailed? Was she forced to move faster than she could and tripped? Was anything missing and whom could they ask? Did they let her out shoes on? It had to be utterly terrifying.

They really haven’t spoken as to what was found inside the house, i.e. signs of a struggle. We might guess that there was evidence of something in the bedroom-maybe sheets were on the floor or a blanket in a twist, with the way the Sheriff talked about Nancy being abducted from her bed. We have no information.

The information that they waited an hour has now been corrected. They waited only a short time before calling LE.

Another scenario that happens in families (not saying this one) is the parents will equally split the estate amongst their children, and occasionally a child will cry foul because one sibling already has plenty of money, and try and make a case for "needing more" than their more successful sibling.

Was thinking the same thing about all the comments on the price of their house. Our 1800 sq ft house is worth $650, my husband has a very normal job and I am a SAHM. We live in the northeast and that’s just what you have to spend to be in a decent school district here.

Exactly. I now live in a $1M home. When we built it at the end of 2019, it cost us half of that. Then EVERYONE started moving to my city when Covid hit and the home values sky-rocketed. At the height of the mania, my house was worth around $1.3M. It's a nice home with a beautiful view, but home prices can be crazy in much sought after areas.

I do not see anyone in the family being involved whatsoever, JMO. NG is 84 and I hate to say this but life doesn’t last forever. If this was a family member who was after inheritance, why do all of this and risk their whole life, when realistically NG isn’t going to live forever? What would the benefit be in staging this crime against someone whose time is already somewhat limited? Additionally, her health wasn’t great to begin with. If it was someone close to her, I’d imagine the “easier” and less risky route would be poisoning her. Not only would it draw far less attention, but it’s possible nobody would even question it given her health and age. There would just be no reason for any of them to do all of this if their goal was to harm NG and collect inheritance. JMO.

If a member of the family is involved, then perhaps the motive isn't money at all but anger/punishment (either anger aimed directly at NG herself or trying to punish AG via hurting her mother). If this was triggered by something that happened during the dinner (though I'd expect there to be underlying prior feelings to that effect then), the planning time may have only been a couple of hours so not very thorough.

Yeah, I don't think she is, either. She's lived in the home since the 1970's , so that is a very old home. The value is likely in the land, more so than the structure. For example, if someone had a cool million to spend on a home in the Tucson area, they probably would build something new vs. buying a house like NG's.

It has not been published. The FBI released the deadline time (5pm) during today’s 11am press conference.

On the Nest Cameras I am shocked to hear that they only store footage for 3 hours if you don’t have a subscription - that’s absolute madness imo.

They should have some back up that law enforcement can access for a period of time at least - quite a few crimes / POIs have been solved/found with the help of doorbell footage.

I'm all for art but in most cases this isn't a source of income, more likely the exact opposite. If they live within a 10 minutes drive of NG it's pretty much the same area, so very nice suburban Tucson. From what I've learned here the about the price of real estate out there, admittedly know knowing that much about the details and so forth and so on (I'm not from the USA), a teacher and a poet (without some additional source of income) would be out of their league a bit out there, wouldn't they?

I have wondered maybe her mom gave it them.

my opinion is she knew she would be going back home in the dark and does not drive at night by choice.

sure... she could have driven herself then left her car and family drive her home... but she needed her car to go to church in the morning.. thus... uber.

Yes, as an elderly person I choose not to drive at night. The new headlights on vehicles are glaringly bright in my eyes. I don't see a problem with someone who recognizes their ability to drive in certain situations.
