But then why hasn’t the family already pay this if they have received proof of life? It doesn’t make sense to me."Guthrie family may have gotten ‘proof of life’: Mark Geragos "

Hmmmm. Not so sure. If they are indeed having multiple water line, pressure issues, septic, backup ,etc could it point to something discarded in the toilet causing an issue? I am a no stone unturned kinda gal. And a nothing is necessarily random in a crime scene kinda gal. Just me.Agreed, but there needs to be some more sensible judgment. A burst water pipe, as an example, clearly has nothing whatsoever to do with the investigation.
Pretty sure they also have a 9 a.m. service. JMOChurch usually begins at 11:00 am. The friend didn't wait very long to contact NG's family.
No, not the usual targets. But their targets are anyone they can get money for.Cartels being on this would be very far outside the norm, I think it's unlikely. Doesn't fit their usual targets for kidnapping. JMO.
The Sheriff originally said that, yes.
But I don't believe that call was ever received.
STRICTLY MY OWN SPECULATION!
This makes sense to me. I know that at the churches I’ve gone to, the early service skews older and is sometimes more traditional in terms of hymns etc, and usually has a smaller attendance where someone missing would stand out because it’s kind of a core group of participants whether in person or online. Church ends at 10-ish, people chat after service, friend calls when they get home, tries calling or texting NG a couple of times without an answer, now it is 11:15 or so, they call family to check in (which is where that initial “around 11 am” timeframe for family to check from the first press conference could come in - it was conflating two events), and then family tries calling or texting around 11:15 and then goes over when they don’t get a response either. If they left around 11:40-11:45 that would put them at her house a little before noon.I feel like the only way this could work with the given timeline is if Nancy was supposed to attend the 9:00 service, which would have concluded around 10:00 or so. The notification could have occurred between 10 and 11ish, perhaps even after the parishioner got home. I can't imagine that someone would contact NG's family in the middle of the service. If so, that seems weird to me. I know she's elderly, but you'd think the friend would just figure she slept in or changed her mind. He/she might call NG after the service was over to check on her. If she didn't answer or it went to straight to voicemail, that might be cause to notify the family. This scenario doesn't work with the 10:45 am service because the family was already at her house a little before noon (unless the parishioner actually notified her family during the service, which is bizarre imo. She could have just been a little late and don't people generally put their phones away during a service?).
"had not attended church that morning" would imply that notification was AFTER the services, not during. Otherwise the notification would be more like, NG hasn't shown up for church yet, is she okay?
I'm not sure if you are aware that Fox News is not a credible source, so I want to let you know. The Express is not independently reporting. It's simply reporting what aired on Fox News with no value added. That may violate TOS and be removed.
They doPretty sure they also have a 9 a.m. service. JMO
And we've went from "friend" to "church lady". JMOI believe this is what people are talking about. The family was contacted by a friend when Ms Guthrie was missed at church that morning. https://www.justice.gov/usao-az/media/1426976/dl?inline

That's 7pm EST. Arizona is on MST and the East Coast is only 2 hours ahead.
Agree about the cartels. The cartel angle has never made any sense to me. Why would a cartel that brings in $100s of millions to billions selling drugs travel to the USA to kidnap/disappear a random grandmother for a $million or even $6 million? It makes no sense. Plus, let's say it was the cartel. Those guys are criminal pro's. They would be in and out of that house in 5 minutes. They wouldn't stick around for 40 minutes or whatever it was. On top of that, let's say the cartel did it and got caught. Trump has already declared the cartels a terrorist organization and he is going to eliminate them. Why give POTUS one more reason to go after them? They aren't idiots.
What does make sense is the SIL. He was with her that night. Dropped her off. I think there is a strong possibility he discussed $$$ with her. She said no to his request. He dropped her off. Stewed about it for a few hours. Maybe had some drinks. Went back to her place to try and change her mind and things got out of control. Or he could even have went back to her place later on to end her so that he and his wife would get their share of the inheritance. To me that makes the most sense to me, and the simplest explanation.
The ransom is either him trying to buy time and give a fake narrative of what happened, or just some idiots who are trying to take advantage of the situation.
Hmmmm. Also I read that AG attendance church elsewhere. If be interested to know if she went. The timeline on reporting someone missing from church seems like it would be around 1pm at the earliest. Its just odd to me personally..knowing how church services routinely run from 11am to 12:15ish pm.Church usually begins at 11:00 am. The friend didn't wait very long to contact NG's family.
I have been wondering if the videos from the family, spread out like they are in time, is a delay tactic to keep the kidnapper occupied while they do the needed legwork on the messages.Yes, but LE has to work backwards to get to that and I suspect that's exactly what's taking them so long. If they're starting from TMZ's server and working backwards for the IP of the original sender they're going to need a lot of warrants in a lot of countries to track IPs from node to node.
If they have a suspect starting point then yes, a warrant to that suspect's ISP will show an initial request to TOR but nothing after that. The ISP has no means to track through the nodes as the query travels world-wide. It's kind of the whole point of TOR nodes.
Having said that it would definitely be a red flag if someone under investigation was using TOR browser at the time the ransom note was received.
My opinion only.
Just protocol. What do you make of the FBI basically confirming the contact in DC's complaint?
Would the FBI include it in a criminal complaint (against the hoaxer) if it was false?
I saw this. I wonder what the abductors think now that everyone is watching the bitcoin account.
