I thought they asked for proof of life first.Would you pay ransom without "proof of life"?

What makes you think they haven’t?What I don't understand is that even without a subscription to the ring camera the FBI was able to work with a tech company to unearth the video of the suspect at her door at 2 am. If they could do that why can't they unearth a video of when she was dropped off at her home around 9:45 pm Jan 31st.
locals said lantanaI don't typically post so I apologize in advance if this question has been asked and answered... Is anyone familiar with the type of vegetation the perp pulled out and whether or not it has any prickles on it? I ask because I'm curious if the gloves worn by the perp may have been punctured. Thank you.
....or they suspect a potential POI in that area.Investigators keep going back to AGs house i would think bc that is the last known place she was alive.
Maybe Saturday nights are game/dinner nights for them, someone near their house could have known this and then went to NG's house later that night. Just a thought. IMOInvestigators keep going back to AGs house i would think bc that is the last known place she was alive.
How far away does a pacemaker need to be for it not to link to the phone? No one can track a pacemaker. It doesn't ping off of anything. It's only job is to collect info from the heart and transmit to doctor. Transmitting device was left at her home.
Do we know for sure that they couldn't get that footage? IMO, there's a high likelihood they have other footage they haven't released. What I don't understand is that even without a subscription to the ring camera the FBI was able to work with a tech company to unearth the video of the suspect at her door at 2 am. If they could do that why can't they unearth a video of when she was dropped off at her home around 9:45 pm Jan 31st.
They didn't. The deposit was reported less than $300.Would you pay ransom without "proof of life"?
And with all the prep/outfitting done, you would think it would have occurred to him to come prepared for the possibility of encountering a doorbell cameraIt just looks more like an offering to me, not like he's using the flowers to shield his face.
All I know is if I was trying to hid my face... 1) I would have done it BEFORE walking up to where there was likely a camera, and 2) I'd do a lot better job than this. My face wouldn't be seen unlike this guy's face.
I saw the photos released this afternoon but just got a chance to watch this video. I had a WOW moment when I heard some of the comments about how the FBI was able to recover the images - especially "The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems." So maybe I wasn't too far off in my Friday post below. I am hoping that they have also been able to recover the images of the person whose movement was captured IN the home!!Surveillance photo coming!

Live updates: Photos show armed potential subject on Nancy Guthrie's door camera
Follow live updates as the search for Nancy Guthrie, mother of "TODAY" show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, continues into its second week.www.nbcnews.com
Question about NG’s cameras -
It has been said that the doorbell camera was a Nest camera. Were the interior cameras also Nest cameras?
The timeline said -
“2:12 a.m. — The camera's software detects movement, but there is no video available since Guthrie did not have an active subscription with the company, meaning the footage was not saved.” (pbs.org)
Does anyone know if the camera company (i.e. Nest) can retrieve the video from this timeframe even if NG didn’t have a subscription? I can see that IF this is possible that the company may not want the general public to know this. I can also see where LE may also not want the public to know this - especially right now with this case.
It wasn’t a ring camera - it was a nest - a google nest - and google is the “tech” company that helped - make sense they could help with their own equipment. As for not finding her being dropped off - she entered via garage and nest camera on front door couldn’t see the garage door..What I don't understand is that even without a subscription to the ring camera the FBI was able to work with a tech company to unearth the video of the suspect at her door at 2 am. If they could do that why can't they unearth a video of when she was dropped off at her home around 9:45 pm Jan 31st.
Ugh. That thumbnail is disturbing to have NG's face next to that scary perp. I wish the media didn't do that.
Maybe a test deposit? They didn't. The deposit was reported less than $300.
If a family doesn’t have the money, they just can’t. The person who took her had to know the family could pay it. For that reason alone, if it was my mother and I had the money, i would pay it without proof of life. Money can be replaced. It’s always the right thing to try to get your relative back.Would you pay ransom without "proof of life"?
Wasn't there an earlier news clip with neighbors being interviewed and stating they were asked for.m camera footage closer to midnight? Is it possible that's why there is a discrepancy. The no gun footage from close to midnight, the other from 1:47?And we know they removed the nest camera. Which appears to be what’s happening towards the end of those videos. The camera is disconnected at 1:47am. Which would mean the picture of him without the backpack, IMO, happened first. Which doesn’t really make sense for a variety of reasons but who knows
Did she have a garage camera? If she was dropped and went in through the garage, there may not be any footage to unearth. We don’t know that they didn’t. Why would they give that info to the public?
Thank you!!She walked with a cane. You can see it in the pic with SG: Nancy Guthrie abduction timeline: Photos, video of armed individual released in disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mom
