you guys, I don't think it matters if they used something with wheels to remove Nancy.

but:

maybe 1 or 2 other perps were in the house and waiting for drugs to affect Nancy. the guy at the door has a tarp and stuff in his back pack.. they let him in and while they are removing Nancy they hit her head on the side of the door..and carried her to a vehicle.

if they did this there has to be a vehicle in order to remove her.

if no vehicle then she may be on the property this whole time. the perp or perps walked home. mOO

I only watched CNN last night and it was an interviewed expert who showed a picture of what appeared to be a partial tatoo. I wish I had taken a picture of the tv screen, but I assumed this was going to be widely mentioned beyond this one expert’s remark. The image the news showed was much more detailed than the only one I can find online now. You’ll just have to take my word for it. I’m a long time WS member and I would never comment on a news report if it didn’t happen. There was a part of Carlos’s tattoo that looked very similar to the image they showed on the news last night. I sure wish I could provide a link. The photo I’m providing is not from a MSM source, but all I could find.

I will keep trying to find a link to the interview, but many experts weighed in last night on CNN’s live broadcast.

I suspect it is because the reward would only be distributed to them if their tip turned out to be accurate. This way someone can get the coin first and THEN divulge their alleged info on the perp.

Burying her in that terrain would take hours. Dogs have already been there a few times and did not find anything. IMO, they are simply looking for things the kidnapped may have dropped like the door camera that was removed.

Seemed to me esp with the septic tank searches that they are looking for a body. Look I personally think someone took her, but to me they should have been using K9s to see if they picked up smell of her dead at both the daughter and her house the cars etc, early in the investigation to eliminate that possibility and then move on.

I hate thinking it too, but I think you're right. There's a reason LE keeps searching around both residences/neighborhoods over and over. They seem to think she's nearby and so do I. IMO

I'm not sure she's nearby as I'd be shocked that they hadn't found her by now.

But what it tells me is that investigators have been unable to verify that she left the area.

They can't identify a suspicious vehicle from cameras in the aprox vicinity, ie local businesses etc that fit their timeline.

Therefore they keep going back to square one

I don't think this was a kidnapping per se , I think it was a robbery resulting in a death of home owner

Perp may have previous for breaking and entering but manslaughter/ homicide wasn't on his bingo card of charges he was willing to take .so he concealed her body

The desert is expansive so plenty of area in which to conceal

This was not a kidnapping done with military precision, with a fine tuned operation from kidnap to demand , perp had to improvise , flowers/ plants from scene used , torch was held in his mouth ,which then transfers spittle onto glove when placing it back in a pocket

The bulk in his backpack could very well be a larger hold all for the loot he expected to gain

It’s too bad that we don’t know what the scene inside the house looked like. Theories as to what the motivation was could change over that.

I agree that we are missing big pieces of the puzzle. I thought I read here that LE did not reveal the crime scene evidence out of respect for the family. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that point.

Also LE routinely holds back info as part of the investigation.

ETA: PS What kind of info would LE keep secret out of respect for the family?

I don't know. The likelihood of someone burying a body "nearby" seems to be a bit of a stretch. How does someone do that in the dead of night without being detected? I would venture to guess at night out there, one can hear a pin drop. It strikes me as a very quiet neighborhood. We all know the sound of a shovel as it pierces the ground when someone is digging a hole. Couple that with the sandy terrain which would likely produce a noticeable ringing sound. You know, the metal shovel against the sand, which is basically just a bunch of tiny stones. Besides, we've heard that the ground is just too dense. It would take someone a good long while to dig a hole big enough to bury a body. IMO

I live in Las Vegas and the dirt is so compacted it is like concrete. My neighbors four houses down recently had their front landscape redone and I could hear the activity like the workers were in my living room. You're right that it would be nearly impossible to dig a hole in the middle of the night without attracting attention.

Could that be because the terrain is so hostile with the prickly plants ,snakes , other wild animals ,heat etc

There are searches in the desert in Pima County all the time for any number of reasons - elderly people wandering off, missing hikers, fugitives, etc. The terrain is hardly a barrier. Frankly I think it may even make searching easier than many places because you can see long distances.

I think it is unlikely anyone felt they had to go to the level of trying to figure out how to drug an 84 year old woman who used a cane. IMO if someone took her it is because she is 84 years old and would be unlikely to be able to resist much so need to sedate her.
