AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

White holster: Nah, colors look different on IR camera footage.
2 pairs gloves: a thicker glove under a nitrile glove almost removes all the risk of a print transfer through a thin/tight glove, not to mention if you ditch the outer gloves, you're not leaving a print or DNA inside.
Why do you think s/he turned around to grab the flowers/plant and used those to cover? To help with no DNA touch? Maybe that's why they fist-bumped the camera at first?

I know experts are saying this person doesn’t seem professional or intelligent based on some of the things that were done (picking flowers, trying to hide from the camera, etc.). But if this person is truly that ‘stupid,’ then how have they managed to avoid being caught this long? IMO, they don’t seem as dumb as people are making them out to be, this could be far more organized and professional than assumed. Unless that’s exactly the point? …maybe they’re downplaying this person publicly to provoke a reaction or get them to make a mistake.
Someone posted earlier that they thought there was someone else inside while this guy was on the front porch. Interesting idea. Might explain his sauntering if he’s just there to see what can be seen through the camera (eg on NGs phone). Maybe some one said “go pick flowers” to see what he could hear through the door..idk that part is weird… but if he removes the camera at the end of the clip maybe they are making sure you can’t see anything before they take her out the door..and they confirm they have destroyed the camera and erase the images from her phone. Grasping at straws…. Remember the back door was supposedly opened-and there was supposedly force entry-maybe they entered in back but had to take her out the front door and needed to make sure the doorbell camera was destroyed.

My thinking too, I'm trying to imagine why the perp would walk up with no backpack and no gun, see the camera ad then go put on the (stuffed full) backpack and weapon to return and disable the camera. IMO everything about this case is weird including this part.
Your post prompted a question for me - what he was looking for ANY house that he thought he could access. Something at her door made him think "this one." Then he went to get his gear (whatever that was for) before actually entering.

Maybe it wasn't targeted at all, but just he thought he could get in.

I sometimes wonder if we’re making this mystery more complicated than it ought to be, that we’re treating the perp as some sort of criminal mastermind and overlooking something so obvious because that would be “just too easy.” The clues may be staring us right in the face. I hope this crime doesn’t go cold. I wonder at what point, time wise, a case is considered to be heading in that direction. It would have been better if we hadn’t heard that a person was brought in. Now, we know that they truly don’t have a prime suspect. Had things gone quiet we would have thought that maybe they had someone under surveillance. Their suspect has now been let go.

Hate being a Debbie Downer, but those are my thoughts right now. I wonder if the family will end up hiring their own private investigator.
I agree . I know of several cases I’ve followed over the years that the suspects have gotten away with murder. They aren’t very bright at all, they just had luck and circumstances on their side.

I hope they looked at her wifi router to see if his phone tried to sync. There woukd have been some type of data packets they might could recover.

No idea but same. Maybe a storage shed for yard tools? NG has such a beautiful home. You can tell just by the upkeep and landscaping and clear pool how much it meant to her. Everything looks so well manicured and maintained.
Ah yes, and maybe pool stuff? I'm familiar with desert swimming pools - so presumably it could have 50 lb containers of chlorine tablets in there. Just hoping they peeked inside.

Given that up until yesterday, we didn't know there was a blood trail going beyond the initial spot on NG's porch that we had seen from the beginning, I would wonder what else has been known from the beginning that we don't know about yet.
Frankly, I'm not sure LE knows the blood trail goes beyond the initial spot on the porch. IMO

We've had decades of domestic terrorism risk from white nationalists and neo-nazis. If you want to examine the terrorism angle, you can add them to the list too.
So much so, the FBI needed to update the definition of certain aspects of domestic terror lest people get the idea the real boogeymen have been in the house the whole time.

Not to mention, I'm old enough to remember when it was Al Qaeda sleeper cells. "Foreign terrorists at the souther border" is a tale as old as time.

Nuttin new under the sun...

Yeah. It’s super easy to find phone numbers for the entire family, with the exception of Savannah.

No surprise.
And I was shocked to find the address for Nancy very easily publicly available, still! The Today Show featured an 8-minute segment in November, showing her going back to Tucson. It included her mom on camera, and the information that she still lived in Tucson. That, coupled with her very easily available online street address, could've encouraged some criminal opportunists...

Far, far back in this ginormous thread, it was stated and sourced many times that the dried blood spots identified by LE as NG DNA began at the front door and continued along the driveway.

It does seem strange that many of their lights are on at such a late hour. The lights stand out.
For me it's not that strange tbh. The xmas lights in my garden are there all yr around. In summertime they are just renamed as fairy lights 😅
Also have a lot of solar powered lights that automatically turn on at night and at the front door a light because there are cameras and nightvision on them isn't always a good view incase someone is at the door.

I think it’s a casita/guest house for family members or guests to stay in. I hope they looked in it too, I’m sure they did.

Bringing your own phone along to commit burglary would be foolish.
