The clothing could have been bought in a niche store which is only within a certain town this narrows down the area a perp frequents or lives . So clothing speculation is highly important imo

I agree that could be true! But I also think, per my original post, it's JUST as likely not from a local store or even recently purchased. I just wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket. I do hope LE is looking into it as part of the investigation for sure though

Brian did ask the MIL her SIL's name and she blurted out her SIL's full name. She kind of said the last name quickly and (from the clips I saw), Brian did not actually ask how do you spell that. I think if she had just said the first name, he may not have asked for a last name. In the interview with the guy himself, Brian said he just wants to go by his first name. MIL was flustered and rambling. I thought he was actually pretty respectful toward her. I think he's pretty earnest and does a nice job of coverage.

I felt bad for the family. The adrenaline and shock and fear. I think they spoke freely because they had nothing to hide. They looked like people feeling like is this for real?? Seriously?? Rather than smooth or coy. What a mess.

And I get why someone called in a tip. The guy's basic eye spacing, lips, mustache fall into the ok, hmmm. Then add in what I think was a white vehicle and he does deliveries in Tucson, and yeah, someone likely called in exactly the kind of tip LE wants to hear. It was just a mess from there. Also, the guy clearly having no idea, immediately offers up something like, "I don't know her but I may have delivered something to her." Which on its face sounds like wait what, whoa. But sounds more like him trying to figure out how who the hell this lady was and why they were asking him.


I think he was in stunned shock, adrenaline, and that it was all surreal. One minute you're doing a door dash delivery, the next you have the FBI pulling you over for one of the biggest kidnapping cases in decades and reporters putting microphones in your faces.

I hope they pay for the freaking door to be fixed. But if he was the bad guy, we would have all been glad they barged on in. Tough night.

It was all so distressing wasn't it. The MIL was clearly in a state of shock - I think going back a step, BE should have made the decision at that point to avoid the temptation of getting the interview and just backing away. Or if she really was wanting to just talk to someone, they should have turned the camera off.

There's times when there's a story and this just wasn't one of them IMO

Disagree, why would there be a glove on the side of the road? Explain to me how it would get there, specifically relating it to this case.

People throw evidence out of their vehicles all the time. If the perpetrator is leaving the scene they may no longer feel the need to wear the glove and want to get rid of evidence so out the window it goes. Generally speaking people throw trash out the windows of vehicles without ever giving it a second thought, imo this is no different. Likely nothing in this case but you never know.

I just posted that I saw 15 gloves (yes, I count things as I am diagnosed as OCD) by the side of the road in a one mile stretch alongside the parkway near our house.

I assumed they were discarded by workers or perhaps blew off the backs of trucks of lawn maintenance workers.

I’m kinda getting the impression (IMO) that the FBI has taken over and maybe pushing Pima County off to the side? If that’s actually happened, would there be any circumstance that the FBI could be at a AG‘s house picking up personal items needed by AG? My point is has anyone here covered a case where family members of a missing person have had to leave their home for privacy, but LE will act as a “courier service” if there’s things needed from the home?

LE seem to be returning to the daughter and SIL's home, and as far as the b&w pics and the security footage -- if the family or some of the family recognize the person and IF they were involved, they're not going to come out and say they know who that is !

Not saying it was one of them in the footage, but maybe someone hired by AG or SIL ?

No, it was within the last year. I think it's because there are so many people doing work in this area - building/lawn maintenance/pest control, etc. But yes, during Covid - masks everywhere.

Still seems vague. It's possible he did actually deliver a package to the home recently for his job. FBI probably has gotten records from all recent deliveries and drivers. They may have already been pursuing leads of anyone who has been at the home recently.

IMO, he may have just been delivering in the area and add that with him having a presumably white van and that's all they needed. Ironically, it may have been his side husting with Doordash which provided him with an alibi the night of the kidnapping lead to him not graduating from POI to suspect.

It's not easy to tie some random discarded item of clothing to the crime. I think it would need to have DNA from victim of some sort and DNA from another person to establish a connection. Maybe the FBI can tell exactly what the item of clothing is in the video too to help make a potential match.

I’m stumped trying to think of any cases similar to this one. Going through possible options for motives.

Motive doesn’t appear to be a robbery. If that was the case, the perpetrators would usually break in when they assume the place is empty or they’d tie up occupants, potentially physically assault them to get them comply, take valuables and leave. Or in worst case, murder and leave the bodies behind. Based on those things, and the full backpack/nothing being reported missing, robbery is 99% ruled out for me as a theory.

If it was a motive of SA, again I’d expect her to be left behind either deceased or injured and/or bound. Taking her from the scene to assault elsewhere is a risky move and would be unnecessary as she lived alone, it was the night time, nobody is likely to drop by and interrupt an attack.

If it was a motive to murder, why remove her from the scene and create more work for yourself?

If the motive was a ransom, I’d have expected there to be instructions not to involve police, specific times and dates, and some proof of life that they had her. Ransoms in general seem far fetched in this day and age. Can’t be ruled out but usually the perpetrator would get increasingly agitated with demands not being met and would become more threatening or send proof of the hostage being injured as a result of demands not being met.

That for me leaves a more personal motive. Someone who knew her or someone close to her directly or indirectly and wanted to either hurt them, or get their attention in some twisted way. She was absolutely an intended target, but why?

This is an excellent summary. Like the Ramsay case, the potential motives seem at odds with the actions of the perps.

Also, in this day and age, it's nearly impossible to think of a scenario where the ransom recipient couldn't be traced. Not like the olden days of "put it in a locker at Grand Central Station" or "meet our agent in the rest area off Highway 66 at 3am." Whether physically or digitally, the handoff of ransom funds is just too easily surveiled or traced, by satellite, CCTV, drone, electronic markers, body cams, whatever.

I would think if someone wanted to extort money from SG, a threat would work better than an actual kidnapping. But still, the handoff is a problem.

Which brings it back to a personal motive, or something like inheritance or life insurance. Again, though - there are easier ways than staging an internationally gripping crime charade. Pool. Go for a nature walk, get "lost" and "separated." Go on a lovely vacation and fall off a cliff. How hard would cops investigate the tragic fall by the elderly mom of benign, famous TV star?

Do we know what type of car the person detained yesterday had?

I am behind, but thought I read initially he was detained with a traffic stop. I'm wondering if they looked at other security cameras in the neighborhood and were able to identify a make and model of a car that the suspect used. Surely some other security camera must be pointed towards road and can't imagine there were too many cars traveling at that time.

I could be wrong, memory only, I think they said he had a white van, and at one point the neighbor mentioned a white van. The guy was a private contractor delivering for UPS.

I think he did deliver a package, not sure if to NGs or the neighbor.

He was not involved, someone thought he looked like the images, but he is not the perp.

The point I'm making is if this was a kidnap for ransom ,the kidnapper would not wait 24 hours to lodge demand . They would want a payment within 24/48 hours

We don't know that they didn't leave a ransom note at the crime scene. Perhaps they did and it wasn't made public.

You'll get no disagreement from me on that. I'm in the camp that the glove is just a glove by the side of the road. I hope it leads somewhere and the lead should be followed and had I not seen so many gloves by the side of the road I might be more encouraged by this new development.
