From watching the video, it looked like he was looking around for anything he could grab to cover the camera. He looks at the gravel first then sees the flowers. It’s literally the first thing he sees that could be used. Don’t think there was much thought behind it except “🤬🤬🤬🤬
It's Lantana. He sees the Lantana and quickly utilizes its rarely-known powers to disable door cameras.

(I'm sorry. I'm not over this yet.)

That's how it looks to me, too. I am baffled by his approach to the camera. The plant, the lack of having some duct tape, but mostly when he covered it he used the side of his hand.

I've tried it myself, as if I was going to cover the camera and it's a very unnatural movement. You naturally want to use the palm of your hand. The way he did that was so awkward. I'm sure it means nothing but it's just bugging me as I can't even come up with a theory why he wouldn't cover palm first.

Anybody else sort of disgusted watching the media circus? Like tuning into a live stream all you see is people following cops around and harassing people leaving flowers at Nancy’s house. Not sure I have ever seen a crime scene like this
Yeah. It is kind of ridiculous. Let LE do their job.

Not gonna lie, you really had me there for a minute!!!

I believe it’s more about finances. Walmart is generally not expensive. Someone may come along and correct me though
Yes to inexpensive but Ozark Trail gear isn’t particularly high quality or technical. So doesn’t scream someone experienced with particularly complex stealth missions, but may indicate something you’d be willing to toss in the first dumpster you see after fleeing.

Was looking at older articles today, and this one was interesting mostly as to insight into what NG was like. (I don’t have FB, so if she posted there, I can’t see that.)

(LINK)

Four years ago, she asked on the neighborhood Nextdoor app for recommendations on doorbell cameras. (So maybe that’s around when she bought the Google Nest system?)

What was interesting was why she wanted it. She didn’t say it was to feel safe; she wanted to see “animal activity at night”. 🥹 I thought that was so sweet.

Just this little thing told me she was proficient enough at social media to make posts like this.
And that she was interested in the world around her.
Sometimes some older people turn inward and lose interest in life outside of themselves, but not NG.

Just my observation and musing.

(Oh, and I blocked out names of replies she got.)

I put up cameras for the same reason.

Would a family have to wait for someone to be declared dead before selling a home, or is the years-long wait just for things like life insurance?
Arizona has a 5 year rule, most states take 5-7 years

Or mentally ill/Schizophrenic
they may have some type of mental health disorder but I don’t think this is all the result of active psychosis, if that’s what you mean. It’s too well thought out and not erratic enough.

Bitcoin wallets are pseudonymous, not anonymous. Every transaction is recorded on the blockchain. A sophisticated actor might swap the “dirty” bitcoin for monero, which, if used correctly, is essentially anonymous because its blockchain record hides key details like sender, receiver, and amount. Monero makes it much harder to attribute a dirty past to specific coins.

Most criminals want to turn crypto into dollars they can use in the real world. The easiest way of doing that is through a regulated exchange connected to a bank account. Many get caught because they attempt to obfuscate the flow of funds, eventually depositing the coins to their crypto exchange, but a blockchain analytic firm is still able to track the funds to the exchange which often has the customer's personal info.

There are ways of cashing out crypto without going through a regulated exchange, but these are higher friction and slower.
This is why I'm also skeptical of the ransom angle... $6m in crypto from one wallet is going to be difficult to launder around without attracting attention to it. There's next to no chance you get that liquid without setting off all sorts of flags quickly. It's almost like an afterthought that seems superficially plausible, but is fraught with issues when you dive into how this would actually be accomplished.

Brian Entin was talking to someone and asked the guy if people in Tucson knew that Nancy had a famous daughter. The guy said yes, most people involved in community life do. But then he made a good point that SG herself is from this area. She grew up here. Most people there know she grew up there. Local kid who made it big, hometown pride.

I hadn't really thought about it like that. I had been thinking who goes after a news anchor's mom. Who even knows she has a big star daughter. But someone local from that area may have been aware of the family for years.

No real theory, just broadened my thinking of this being related to SG.
Maybe even a kid who went to school with her (aka middle school/High school)

How did Nancy get her meds? Were they delivered by Amazon?
Lots of people get their meds by mail, but it's possible she just got them at her local pharmacy drive-through.

In that case could the perp receive some form of sexual gratification from receiving large amounts of money?

My maybe silly idea (I posted this before) was that a bug like a black widow spider was there, so he needed something to brush it away. 🤷‍♀️

Except all over Great Britain
And Australia. I grew up with that word, and still use it since long after I left.

This case....I wish we had a Chief Longo on it, from the beginning. He was relentless, persistent and committed. The way he involved the public, etc. Very difficult case, and it was because of him and his tactics that the monster Jesse Matthew was caught. Ended up solving Morgan Harrington's case too.

If the backpack is truly from Walmart, that would be something. How many times have we seen footage of criminals buying their gear at Walmart?

  • #23,458
Thank you, I had not seen that. I've had to skip some posts in this fast moving thread.
CNN today wrote, “The backpack appears to be an Ozark Trail Hiker Pack, according to a CNN analysis. Ozark Trail is Walmart's private-label outdoor brand.”

It looks like the same backpack manufactured under different labels. Here’s the Walmart version, sold for $10.88.

Good find!

Four years ago, she did not seem to be worried about break ins etc.
Seems like the area was safe or safe enough for her (Which I thought, just by looking at it)
