I’ve been wondering that same thing for a while.
NG entered her home through the garage. The garage is located on the right side of the front door (side of house). Out of this particular cameras view.

If the backpack is truly from Walmart, that would be something. How many times have we seen footage of criminals buying their gear at Walmart?

A lot. Angela Wagner (Pike County OH Rhoden family massacre) and her shoes purchase comes to mind. They have great record keeping and surveillance cameras.

Well he didn’t do a good job did he!
My guess is not a professional. Someone the murderer knew and willing to do it. Mistakes were made. Never said they did a good job.

Also, IMO, even if the perp doesn't have a good plan for cashing it out, I don't think this definitively means it's not real. I am sure there have been criminals who have used bitcoin without a complete understanding of how to launder it. Being bad at cryptocurrency does not immediately imply hoax to me, IMHO.
Initially TMZ was saying LE was taking it seriously due to the reference of the location of her Apple watch. HL said it was not in a location you'd intuitively jump to. If not for that I'd write it off as a hoax, but if they really did have inside info I'm back to square one.

I'm not sleuthing anyone in particular. I'm trying to get a handle on all the adults in this family. For instance, does NG have brothers and sisters? Nieces, nephews? Adult grandchildren?

LE is intensely focused on AG/TCs house. If they are not interested specifically in AG/TC are there other adult relatives that come and go from there? They are interested in that house for a reason. IMO
Oh you're going to have me adding yet another tree to my online family tree collection at this rate (and I have already run out of fingers and toes to count them!).

Also, where is the footage of Nancy arriving to her home from earlier in the evening???
If they had this video, why would they release it? They released the videos they did because they contained images of an alleged perpetrator. They're not going to release every video they have; only the ones that have information they want the public to get. I don't think any conclusions at all can be drawn from videos that we don't know if they have, and they probably wouldn't release if they did.

Or mentally ill/Schizophrenic
I don't think we can rule out some type of mental illness. A person who has some form of mental illness might live on the streets or in the wilderness or wherever, or might be transient. Such a person might carry a backpack, and might keep gloves/mask for committing crimes of opportunity.
This type of person might not have a phone or vehicle -- two of the items that often lead to suspects. He's off-grid, and maybe a little lucky.
Maybe something goes wrong during a break-in or home invasion and, not thinking clearly, he removes the body or walks her a short distance. Might be why LE continues searching the immediate area.
The whole kidnapping thing just seems too exotic and uncommon. It's so incredibly rare. The ransom business, I suspect, may be the work of an opportunist. This theory, or some variation, might explain why a ransom hasn't been paid, as far as we know.

IMO

Is it possible this is just a random crime. All siblings saw the video and didn't recognize the person. Of course it's not a great video but enough to recognize I think. They are not getting caught because everyone is looking in the wrong direction because of SG. CNN said backpack was identified.
But maybe they did recognize the person…

Looks like too many people on here are overly tired at this point and some continue to post gibberish. Pleading with the Mods to shutdown this feed overnight to let folks settle down for a few hours.

They don't send a SWAT team or get a warrant to search a house because of a tip of the person apprehended last night looking similar to this person. IMO LE had to have had other convincing concerns and information about this person (e.g. their movements, their vehicles, their cell phone activity, pings by NG's house while delivering packages, relative saying they were acting suspicious, etc) for a judge to okay the warrant and for the SWAT team to be deployed. JMHO
I agree. He's connected somehow.

I’m still not 100% convinced the SIL dropped her off at her home. Wondering if he has an alibi from the time he allegedly dropped her off until the next day when it was reported.

Do you mind posting a link to LE stating he's been cleared?

I read it here earlier today, which is why I said it was my understanding. If he wasn't cleared then I suppose that technically leaves him in the game, but now he's just one of those old guys who comes off the bench from time to time to light it up until the next timeout, but he's not a franchise player anymore.

The same guy who didn’t anticipate the door cam and was grabbing shrubs to cover it up.
A-m-a-t-e-u-r.

The shrub pulling made me think “gardener/landscaper”.

Amateur opinion and speculation only
I thought the same thing about landscaper.

From watching the video, it looked like he was looking around for anything he could grab to cover the camera. He looks at the gravel first then sees the flowers. It’s literally the first thing he sees that could be used. Don’t think there was much thought behind it except “🤬🤬🤬🤬

Yes, the apparent lantana improvisation suggests the intruder is someone who did NOT know there was a security camera at the entry; otherwise, why not come prepared with something to mask it? I mean, he had a backpack.

So there is that to consider.

The presence of the camera did nothing to deter this perp, clearly.
It did not give him pause when he spotted it. He did not get panicked, he did not turn tail and run.
His movements were not hurried or twitchy. He looked almost nonchalant perusing the yard for suitable ground cover.
He didn't appear to be under the influence of anything to me.
He looked deliberate and decisive.

Not his first rodeo vis-a-vis home invasion.

Which is why I brought up that package at the front door, could his phone have pinged during the time of that package. That was his job according to news reports. He still could have just delivered that package and that was it. IMO

It wasn’t a rumor. Someone in a white vehicle went to the house today and put up signs and said they were hired in some capacity (perhaps misstated) by the family. It’s on video.
Wow!! I wonder if he could get in trouble for that?
