I don’t doubt that the items can be, and probably were, bought at Walmart, but I wouldn’t put any creedence into what the DM has reported. The gloves they pictured are not the same as what was used, the jacket the perp was wearing was a fleece zip up with no hood. Not a windbreaker with elastic cuffs and a hood like the article pictured, and if it was an Ozark Trail backpack I’m almost certain you’d be able to see the logo in the photos and videos. The logo on my son’s backpack (which isn’t an OT, but has a similar screen printed logo on it) glows on our cameras at night with the IR lights.
You also cannot tell colors based on night vision cameras. My black shoes look white and some of my black yoga pants can’t even be seen which makes for some pretty funny videos, and makes me feel like I should apologize to all my neighbors for appearing to be half naked on their cameras at night.
