I don’t doubt that the items can be, and probably were, bought at Walmart, but I wouldn’t put any creedence into what the DM has reported. The gloves they pictured are not the same as what was used, the jacket the perp was wearing was a fleece zip up with no hood. Not a windbreaker with elastic cuffs and a hood like the article pictured, and if it was an Ozark Trail backpack I’m almost certain you’d be able to see the logo in the photos and videos. The logo on my son’s backpack (which isn’t an OT, but has a similar screen printed logo on it) glows on our cameras at night with the IR lights.
You also cannot tell colors based on night vision cameras. My black shoes look white and some of my black yoga pants can’t even be seen which makes for some pretty funny videos, and makes me feel like I should apologize to all my neighbors for appearing to be half naked on their cameras at night. 😂

i find it hard to say whether the dark lines we're seeing are eyebrows, as opposed to a seam or even a shadow. and if they are eyebrows, i don't think we can say how thin or thick they are, or how groomed. too dark and blurry to see how sharp the lower edge is, and the top edge is obscured.

Same. I think it is hard to tell i.e. eyebrows versus seam.

Brian Entin interviewed a retired Sheriff’s Dept officer. He felt the case has been botched from the beginning and blamed the Sheriff’s huge ego. He said the Sheriff would not relinquish much of the investigation to the FBI; the Sheriff’s investigators have only been hired in the last few years and limited expertise; stated it was laughable that the Sheriff rushed out to Rio Rico to be out front if they made an arrest of the Door Dash guy - said Sheriff should remain in the office to coordinate the investigation, etc. Obviously the retired officer had nothing good to say about Sheriff Nanos.

Agreed, I think the retired officer also said that many people left because of ineptitude, (my memory only). So the best people didn’t want to work there…sounds pretty bad.
But, I do think, because of DNA collection, (just now doing it😡), that the perp will be matched with it. Maybe some defense motions to exclude because of sloppiness🥲.

But why the white tent though? I’ve usually only seen this in cases where they are trying to hide remains or protect from the elements (which doesn’t seem to be an issue today).

Maybe a recreation of the video to attempt to get height or other things they may have missed?
Maybe they're hiding themselves from cameras while they work. Perhaps they're not taking any chance that the perps are watching and they don't want them to see the area(s) under scrutiny.

Question: In this video from the FBI, what's the guy doing with his left hand as he first reaches up with his right hand to block the camera?
Good points in your post.

I don’t say this with high confidence but it looks like he’s trying to lift the base of the camera with his left hand, to see if it’s securely mounted. Attempting to slide it upward. The wide-angle view makes his hand look further from the lens than it is. He realises the Nest camera is secure, then goes to pull up the foliage. (This decision still seems anomalous to me.)

Also, Nest footage would usually have audio, as others have pointed out. If it has been recovered, it has been withheld.

TMZ is reporting that the video of the guy dismantling NG's Nest camera took place at 2:12 a.m.

"The man in the new video is trying to enter a locked gate, to no avail. He was recorded on a resident's Ring camera at 1:52 AM. Now, when law enforcement held a news conference last week, they said Nancy's Nest camera disconnected at 1:47 AM ... and, at 2:12 AM, the camera software detected a person. The video the FBI released of the man approaching Nancy's door does not have a time stamp. Sources directly connected to the investigation tell TMZ ... that video of the man at Nancy's door was recorded at 2:12 AM -- in other words, he's the person the software detected."

Ah, ok, well, we will see, I guess. I still do not think it's the same person, JMO.

To me, the body and movements are distinctly male. The suspect has a square head, wider shoulders with straight hips. The ski mask lays tight against the skull, indicating short or close cropped hair. I also think he's possibly wearing a mask inside the ski mask, which is why so many are thrown off with the eyebrows. JMO.

LOL, yeah, he probably took a selfie before he headed off to his mission.
Maybe so. Brian Kohberger sure enjoyed taking some selfies, didn't he?

No direct sources on why they think these items are the brand listed, but grabbed larger images for anyone that wants them.

They think the jacket is 2XU brand, the gun holster Uncle Mike's, the nitrite gloves Hyper Tough, and the backpack Ozark Trail. I know there's been some chatter about Ozark Trail. All four of the items I just listed appear to be sold at Walmart. They think the ski mask is Rothco, which they've found online.
That's not the same jacket as that worn by the perp. The perp's jacket has contrast colour zip, narrow band contrast-colour non-ribbed cuffs, and appears to be made of a wool or fleece fabric, IMO.

I ask again, could it be that the back pack(s) were brought to store their own evidence, like cameras they remove, etc..... Not necessarily for stolen goods
That's assuming the newest video on TMZ with the blurred faces is tied to Nancy's kidnapping. In the videos released by the FBI the other day of the suspects, the backpack was already packed full. Assuming the video was captured as they walked up to the front door, it would suggest that the backpack was full of belongings meant to carry off the kidnapping. That they hadn't taken anything yet. If they had already stolen things, I can't imagine why they would come mess with the cameras after. Even if they were successful in taking or breaking it, they would have to assume video was already stored in a cloud, even if the hard physical device was destroyed. I think their goal was to stop it from capturing anything.

Going back to that Sheriff's timeline, when the camera simply detected motion, but they couldn't view it. Do we think that motion was the suspect, what they eventually recovered from the camera data?

View attachment 644195

Going to make a guess here based on those tiles being 12"x12". He's 5'10"- 6'1". Closer to 5'10" IMO.

Going off of:
Door slab width: approximately 36 inches
Door height: approximately 80 inches (6’8”)
Full door opening including sidelights: approximately 60–66 inches (5–5.5 feet)
Arch peak height: approximately 84–90 inches (7–7.5 feet)
Porch tile size: approximately 12” × 12
Porch depth (front to back): approximately 26–30 inches (about 2–2.5 feet)
Concrete sidewalk width: approximately 3.5–4 feet
Estimated individual height: approximately 5’10” to 6’1”
And this, kids, is why we should have all paid attention in Algebra and Geometry class.

And this is a really big county! I heard on one of the news shows (no link but you can confirm the info) that Pima County is over 9,000 sq miles. That is HUGE. This is not some little town. I think they said one area from another can be 150 miles apart. That means that Pima County is larger in area than the states of New Jersey or New Hampshire, and is also larger than the states of Delaware, Connecticut, and Rhode Island combined.
True but you really need to factor in that much of the county is part of the Goldwater (bombing) range. But you're right, it's still a big county. But having lived there for 40+ years, in my experience the Sheriff's Office does a pretty good job most of the time.

Agree, when I look at the full body pics, I see a man. He has a big head, broad shoulders, no breasts, stands and walks like a man. We don't see the top of his eyebrows because of the mask. MOO

Lol these reporters zooming in for clues on a luggage tag

They’re finally not answering questions and waited 12 days to set up a tent for analyzing? They didn’t even have the scene taped off for this long. It’s wild. When I first noticed this case, I saw that PCSO brought in homicide, because the scene warranted it. I don’t understand why it’s taken this long to process the entire area. Think of how many people have contaminated the scene already.

And when I look at it I just keep seeing that it appears the upper part of the eyebrows are covered by the mask.

I'm surprised by how much conviction people have that these are thin eyebrows.
If you blow the photo up as far as you can, they look thin to me. Science tells us that all people see things the same way based on brain patterns. A case in point would be optical illusions. So the way I see it might not be the same way you see it and that is okay.

I don't know but I think it is important to keep an open mind and to be able to ponder if this could really be a woman culprit. I'm sure the FBI with all the AI technology have a definite profile but they are keeping it under wraps. JMO

according to the FBI website, arrests for robbery and murder are over 80% male.

the odds of it being a woman are astronomically low. the build does not suggest woman at all, nor does the gait. not to mention the height, you can tell from the video he's tall. there was a great post a few pages back estimating the height to be between 5'10"-6' of course there are women who are that tall but the odds of it being a woman at all, let alone one over 5'10" are just... so extremely low.

i can't understand why so many people always speculate it's a woman in these types of crimes. i know this crime is already extremely unusual and weird, but it being committed by a woman on top of all that... i have a better chance of winning the lottery.

In the close up picture it really looks to be the seam and I see nothing unusual about the eyes to indicate mascara - looks like my lashes without mascara.. plenty of men I know have thick eyelashses. The mustache in the close up looks legit to me too in that frame ...jmo
