It seems that the only individuals who could possibly know this information would be 1.) the perp, 2.) those who first came to the house to check on NG, and 3.) LE investigators (incl forensics, photographer, etc) at the crime scene

Jmo
If the location of the smartwatch was habitual and if the floodlight was damaged days prior to the abduction, there also are 4) people who work at the house.

And anyone to whom any of the four categories of people could've leaked the info.

I think it is most likely a plea for that person to come forward - if they are innocent then it would be in their best interest.
I hope that’s what it is

An earlier email sent to the outlet Wednesday demanded one bitcoin in exchange for information on Guthrie’s suspected kidnappers. A single bitcoin is worth roughly $65,000.

There do not appear to have been any deposits sent to the bitcoin account in the email.

Nancy Guthrie crime scene perimeter ‘not big enough’: Tracy Walder
The latest email contained what TMZ described as “ominous” remarks, with the sender complaining they were not being taken seriously. In the initial note, they stated they had tried to contact Guthrie’s children but had failed.

The website did not describe the remarks in detail but said it is working with law enforcement.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office also sent an alert to those living in a two-mile area around Guthrie’s home, asking for video footage — including that of vehicles, vehicle traffic, people, pedestrians or anything else out of the ordinary — going all the way back to Jan. 1.

Yeah. Not much seems normal in this case unfortunately.
LOTS of financial motives.....and a world of scammers out there....very few considering the tragedy and trying to be helpful

If this person truely knows who the kidnapper is (which I doubt) and isn't telling LE, then they absolutely will be incriminated. Most likely an accessory after the fact.
They’ve also offered a $50k reward. One bitcoin is roughly $67k. They aren’t going to do the right thing over $17k?! Honestly, tell what you know and then get a reward, period. If they start giving money to any random person, who claims they know something about a case, it will set a huge precedent for the future.

Also, I’m somewhat surprised that the family hasn’t added to the reward. It’s only at $50k. You would think they would, but that’s just my two cents.

NBC says these were found in the home today:

Posted by NBC news today at 2:15pm EST

Gloves found at Guthrie's house are being sent out for testing, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a statement this afternoon.
The department said "several items of evidence" were found at the residence, but provided no details beyond the gloves.
The news comes after multiple reports that a nylon glove was found at the home.

This is crazy to me. They have searched her place multiple times including the surrounding brush, how could they have only discovered a glove yesterday.

In the past I would have agreed that FBI agents are consummate professionals. They brought expertise and resources to major investigations like the Boston Marathon bombing. Not so any more. The agency has been hollowed out over the past year in my opinion and as widely reported in MSM. Two cites among the widespread coverage from major media outlets:

The FBI still brings resources and manpower. But that's not enough. The FBI supports local law enforcement by developing leads from raw information, organizing the investigation efficiently and effectively. It no longer brings the level of expertise and professionalism it was famous for.

If BE's anonymous source is accurate, it came from or is about the federal side, in my opinion based on recent high-profile crimes. In the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the mass shooting at Brown University, premature leaks from federal investigators mischaracterized the status of the investigation, leading to public statements by federal officeholders and reporting by the media that the culprit was in custody. The misinformation had to be walked back shortly after when the individual being questioned was released without charges. With Brown, federal authorities gave the all-clear twice while the shooter was at large.
This has been on my mind a lot but could not figure out how to express that. Thank you.

Well I believe they are real notes sent to local news stations and TMZ. We don't know if they truly are from the kidnapper.

Same. It's can't listen to some of these people on other topics or my head explodes. But when they are talking about true crime, victims, timelines, bringing on intelligent guests, and asking good questions, I think coverage has actually been very good.
At least one note was from the kidnapper(s) because it gave very specific information about NG's room and items in that room (like the location of her Apple watch). Unless that info was leaked in the press earlier, I don't see how anyone who had never been in that room before could have known that.
I think LE has a list of suspects at this point - but they need DNA to tie them to the crime scene. My suspect list would include all the delivery guys and service people who had been at the house in the past few months. Their associations to NG are transient and they might have thought it couldn't be traced back to them. As opposed to her family or regular household help who would be the obvious suspects. JMO.

Clearly he's not the same man. But if there were more than 1 person involved, maybe he is just 1 of the guys who had a part in it.
If it's not the same man, then NG's neighborhood is not very safe. Both suspicious persons seen within miles on the same date, and approximately the same time. JMO

Bumping (my own post... sorry) as relevant re: update on FBI and PC Sheriffs trying to question the man on the Ring camera video per @MassGuy's post.

See original post for:
1. screenshot map of likely location of that Ring camera route to NG's home
2. TMZ article (with video of that man)
3. location of gloves found which would match said route as well as where they are seeking camera footage now (or at least part of the route)

I also talk about how there may have been multiple people involved and there could have been a backpack "handoff" at some point given the Nest footage includes the man both with and without the backpack.

Right. The difference between a misdemeanor (peeping tom) or possibly the death penalty.

TMZ reported that the person requesting 1 bitcoin says it’s because they will be a “nationwide rat” and they don’t want to publicity. The money will go to him “laying low”. I live in Ca and $67k won’t get you more than a year or two with our COL. Also, anyone can remain anonymous when leaving a tip. Levin doesn’t release the entirety of the letter, but says it’s “chilling”. Honestly, this emailer needs to play by the dang rules and either give up what he knows or be charged with hindering an active investigation. (link added by mod)

It hasn't been confirmed that the information they provided was in fact accurate though. I do find it strange that once the deadline passed, there have been no more videos from the family directed to the kidnapper. This has me wondering if they no longer believe those notes to be real

is 5+ miles away considered the same neighborhood?

The quote here does not indicate the gloves were found today. The department said items were found (including gloves) and sent out for testing, but does not give timeframe. Is there another story that says the gloves were found today?

It's my recollection that last week the sheriff said unless there were new developments, he wouldn't hold another press conference until Thursday (today). But I've also seen a tweet that the sheriff is not planning to do any interviews/updates today. Is that correct?
I think your probably heard him at the beginning of last week and he was referring to last Thursday (Feb. 5).

The white tent was erected hastily and stayed up for about an hour as investigators gathered evidence in secret. The only discernible difference when the tent came down was the missing bracket that once held a Nest camera a masked suspect was caught tampering with, according to footage released earlier this week.
Assuming LE gleaned some info., wondering what it was, just the bracket ?
This all feels like too little, too late.
Hope I'm wrong.
Omo.

I don't think the man in the TMZ video is the same as the man in Nancy's camera video because even though Nancy's camera video is in black and white, you can tell the backpack is a lighter color than the coat. And in TMZ's video, it's the opposite. The backpack is black and the coat is a lighter color.
I doubt that it's the same guy, partly because of my understanding of the distance between the two locations and the time that the Nest camera was removed and the time that the guy with the two backpacks was videotaped. (Of course, my understanding or the timestamps could be wrong.)

That said, apparently NG's Nest camera is infrared and changes the apparent colors of objects. The guy with the two backpacks may have been photographed with a conventional camera, which shows the true (or almost true) colors of objects.
