Someone knows who the Lantana man is, it’s just a matter of time before they report it. Could be someone he lives with, interacts with etc., as an example. They’re going to think about his height, backpack (maybe) and where he was that night (maybe the next day or two also).
$100K tends to focus the mind.

Oh wow, interesting. I’ve never heard of Google Explore. Does it only capture searches that were specifically made in google? What about other search engines?
I have a friend who works in a professional field that can be contentious at times. She has set a Google alert to notify her if her name is Googled. I didn’t know you could do that.

Not that it's a critical point, and it doesn't narrow down the search that much, but Ozark Trail is a Walmart private label, so I don't think you'll find it on Amazon unless someone is re-selling.

Source, Ozark Trail is a registered trademark of Walmart (my screenshot from uspto.gov):

Not necessarily. I looked earlier, and there are some Ozark Trail items sold on Amazon. I couldn’t find the backpack, but it could have been sold there in the past. Just because it’s a private label under Wal-Mart, and is primarily sold exclusively there, it may be sold in certain markets and through via other sellers.

I found Brian's interview of the retired officers very interesting, but I was surprised the one gentleman said firmly that he believes Nancy is alive. If so, that should mean that the ransom notes are real. If people have been sending real ransom notes and being blown off, I would expect them to be angry, frustrated and very anxious to get her off their hands. I would think that's very dangerous for Nancy.

I’ve been so annoyed by that damn thing. Nothing matched.
Yeah honestly it bothers me that these things keep leaking. These are the type of things that should be quickly investigated and cleared without the general public even knowing about.

Makes me wonder if these leads are the best they have. Which leads me to believe we might be here for a while unfortunately.

I find this strange as well. One the one hand, they're looking at paying a multi-million dollar ransom. On the other, there is a 50K reward on offer for her return. I'd think I'd go with a few hundred thousand as a motivator for info myself.
5 pm news says reward raised to $100K

Sorry if duplicate-

Talks of a 2 am search and his reasoning being they may be tracking a device path.

I think they blurred his face because he has not been identified as having anything to do with the crime. His presence in the area and the backpacks might just be a coincidence.

I find it odd though there just happened to be a guy casually wandering around the area carrying two backpacks at 2 in the morning...

As always, JMO

The face is as clear as day....
this guy is certainly going to be contacted as to his intent at that gate in the early morning hours. ............
moo.

a websleuther determined the height about 200 pages ago so...way to go LE (eye roll).

possibly a stupid question but why hasn't the family thrown money into the 'ransom/bitcoin' ask? we know SG at least has the money. and she herself two/three videos ago said "we will pay"...so why not throw some spaghetti money on the wall and see what sticks?

another websleuther said we would all do ANYTHING to get our loved one saved/home/discovered. so why hasn't the guthrie family thrown so much as a dollar at bitcoin/offshore account?/anything these alleged kidnappers have asked for?

my answer - because these are bogus claims/distractions. curious as to what others think.
I wondered the same for the "golden tip" reward money.
Now i understand it may be too much to handle for LE to go through all those tips flooding in already. Imagine if the reward is 1mil 😅

The only problem there is that the Zodiac Killer provided proof of not only who they were but what they had done. This just seems like more scammers and trolls.
Or of BTK and his correspondence with media outlets.

So I just did a google explore search. I did custom dates from 1/1/25 until 1/30/26. The only time her home was searched for was on January 18th, and it was searched 29 times. I am hoping that they were able to find out from where and maybe that is pushing the dates.
In 13 months, her home was only searched for on 1 day - Jan 18th - and it was searched 29 times. Seems quite significant for LE and this case. MOO

Hope Savannah is covering that and not the tax payer. Nothing against NG, but if this had been any average missing person, how much effort would have gone into finding them I wonder.

I said something similar upthread. I shouldn't judge because I'm sure the Guthries are following the directives of the FBI, but I'm surprised they aren't a little more proactive. When I think of famous cases like Laci Peterson and Elizabeth Smart, the families were front and center. Searching, organizing, doing interviews, press conferences, etc. At this point the ransom demands and threats are irrelevant. Nancy is likely dead and this is a murder case. There's nothing to be lost from being more aggressive. So like you said, why not throw a big sum out there and see what happens?

I still cannot get past the question of WHY? If nothing was stolen; ransom messages probably fake;
then someone or some persons went to a LOT of trouble to kidnap an 84-year old woman with health issues. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?
Practice run for a harder crime?

The Today Show page is reporting that LE is asking neighbors for doorbell cam footage for the first time. Just now? Really?

The description of the suspect just released by the FBI is pretty vague. Almost a "why bother?"

Feels like a botched investigation.

In the video, did we ever see the person try the doorknob? I don't think so. Word has it that she didn't lock the door. Perp likely knew that.

So many mixed signals. Gloves looked layered and padded. Seems that would be difficult to operate a gun, rob a house, manhandle or kill someone. This person couldn't have acted alone.

Seems that consensus is that the video perp is a novice. I'm not so sure. The impression of layered clothing, gloves, and masks to hide persona seems to have been pretty effective. I also think that the person played with their gait to try to disguise it. Sometimes it looks mincing, sometimes rather masculine.

People say that they were surprised by the camera, but it also looks like they were trying to keep their face away from it originally. All mixed signals.
