Does anyone know if it's common for these cameras to not record? I assumed they'd at least keep a small amount of recording, but I really have no idea. Surprising to me that so many of these don't record at all. JMO.
I wonder what kind of traffic camera they are talking about, and why any jurisdiction would not want them to record. The interstate camera here don't record, but we have intersection camera that take pictures and send you tickets for infractions. Even if you don't use video for traffic enforcement, wouldn't citizens want them to record evidence of a hit and run, or the cause of a horrible accident, or a different crime?

Yeah i get where you are coming from and as someone who lives in a city with a very active homeless population near my home incan say most all of them suffer from mental illness. And it makes perfect sense for them to hpp my fence either my cameras pointed at the fence with the spotlight on them to steal stuff from my shed. They sleep behind my fence. Sherrif says nothing they can do, the fence backs up to a public alley,. I think at any moment I could be a victim of a violent crime. I stand by my only a lunatic would hop a fence with a visible camera and spotlight on them them. Sorry, just my experience and you have your as a professional. Im living my experience. Not trying to put down people with mental health issues.
I definitely can appreciate how that is difficult and I’m sorry you are experiencing that! That sounds very stressful. My comment is mostly to say that, yes; I would agree that someone who robs someone else/abducts another person is acting in a ‘crazy (in the sense that a rationale person would not consider doing this)’ manner, just not necessarily someone who has schizophrenia or a mental illness

Edited post for clarity because I typed too fast and accidentally contradicted myself. Sorry!!

IMO TC is much taller than this person
I'm going to correct myself here!

I had always seen SIL as quite tall, like 6 foot or taller, but since reviewing that family photo (which we can't show here as it contains children) I can see that he is actually similar height to Savannah, and I believe she's around 5 foot 9 from what I have found online

Wouldn't it be better from a research perspective to use actual night time to replicate night time?
Yes, but in the case of an abduction, you don't want to wait 10 hours for actual night time.

You would think the law enforcement/ FBI would be searching for a phone ping from the kidnapper

If the phone is turned off, law enforcement can access the last known location, which is the last cell tower the phone connected to before being powered down.

There are numerous cell towers and small cell poles in Tucson, Arizona, operated by major providers like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

The City of Tucson maps small cell pole locations for both 4G and 5G upgrades, and T-Mobile specifically offers 5G home internet in the area.

I think this kidnapper had someone else waiting in a vehicle in the street.

He seems to be looking around when he pulls the bush out,

and might have had a phone on him to communicate with someone else to help get Nancy into the vehicle, most likely covered up with a blanket.

Showing the outside onto the road from the video, when it's done more clearly, could show something interesting as well

You probably don't want to wait 12 days after the abduction either.

Why would a family member need a gun to take Nancy?
Or need one to stage a scene?

I didn't see the topic but speculating that nobody can really fathom a person walking right up to a front door of what's been stated to be a "million dollar home" without the assumption that cameras could be everywhere. The basic commonality of thr Ring camera and other basic home security being around now for decades. I guess someone just posed the idea maybe thisnguy is nuts, you know? Maybe its not a planned intentional crime, but just some rando lunatic. So, maybe thats the idea. Thsts youd have to be schitzo to walk up like that to a front door these days. Its a solid assumption in my opinion.

As someone who works in healthcare and is very familiar with active psychosis, the perp does not seem to display signs associated with that. MOO of course and everyone is welcome to their interpretation!

As for schizophrenia specifically, people with mental illnesses are actually more likely to be the victims of crimes rather than the perpetrators. I just don’t want to vilify an already stigmatized group when there don’t seem to be obvious signs pointing to that.

ETA: my thesis in undergrad was actually about how the media uses terms that make “mental illness” and “crazy” interchangeable and how that is harmful for furthering the stigmas with mental illness, so this topic specifically is a bit of a passion of mine hence my responses!

I'm not sure if you are repeating what other people said, but 'nuts', 'rando lunatic', 'schitzo', and 'crazy' are really offensive to people with mental illness (and should be offensive to those without mental illness). These terms have no place in any conversation about someone's behaviour. I won't say anymore

New here so still understanding the rules. Why deleted?
It's just a way to say, "Deleted by me" in case you double post, or realize someone just posted the link you were about to post, etc.

Interesting is that a far-back ear? I said in the ski mask photo that the person's ear was far back on the head.
The person in that video has a large dark neck tattoo. I think that is making the back of the head look odd here.

Is this investigation turning into a p!ssing contest???
I suspect that everything is a pissing contest for Nanos. Unfortunately, that kind of contest doesn't always require more than one contestant. Sigh.

As it should. In hindsight this is lunacy
Respectfully, since we don't yet know the actual motive of the crime, I don't think we are at the hindsight phase yet. SG may or may not come to regret her openness, but I think this is dangerous close to victim blaming.

I don't know who ski-mask guy looks like because I can't see his face! The mask looks tight and it's distorting his features. But grubby porch guy looks taller than the guy at NG's house.
Yes, looks taller and thinner.

If you’re referring to my post with saying “crazy”, yes, I was referring to what others have said! I edited my post some for clarity. I’m sorry about that! Trying to type while getting ready for work = bad posts and late to work lol

The gloves were found approximately 1 and 1/2 miles from the house, to they were just 'thrown', so that gives clues to the direction the suspect went. Not exactly, that maybe a 'false' trail laid by the 'person' who turned around and went in the opposite direction.

I’m curious if this sketch was drawn before or after the video of the break-in down the road was released

ETA: I apologize, there is a video that I saw on X of someone on another porch that looks similar to the sketch. It was NOT released by FBI/official sources so I don’t mean to cause confusion if this is not allowed

I was looking at that too, then comparing to the prowler video posted, of the guy prowling in a nearby area, in reflective clothing about a month ago.
