Regarding potentially the same intruder being seen at another property, at 3.30am and 5.00am, I'd just like to say, I can understand an intruder at 3.30am, but 5.00am is risking it! People are up and about by that time, going to work, going jogging or to the gym before work, or walking the dog etc. especially in a warm area of the country.

Either the intruder is stupid.....or fearless!

View attachment 644471I think it’s SIL. The outline around the eyes on the mask is covering the top portion of the eyebrows. But you can see that the brows are nearly a unibrow. You can also see the shape of the head is very similar. The eyes are spaced apart the same. And the gray beard hairs are sticking out of the mask, indicating this is a long, full beard. You can also see the wrinkles under the eye indicating this is not a young man.

I took screenshots from the January 23rd doorbell cam in Tucson that was linked to a few posts ago. Who knows if it’s related, but the guy really could match the NG abductor images quite well. I hope he’s being ruled in or out.

Anyone else just feeling extra on edge because of this case? I live in a neighborhood where the houses are so close I can literally hear the kids playing inside the house nextdoor from inside my house. Safe street, safe neighborhood. But my dog just started barking from inside and it literally made me feel more panicked than usual. It was our neighborhood suburban raccoons wandering from there nest in the tree line lol.
I can't even imagine how Nancy's family and community feel though Praying for safety for each of you and for the hearts of criminals to be softened and for people to genuinely value the lives of others.
In the midst of all the sleuthing, we must never lose sight of the humanity of everyone.

100 percent. Just due to some things that happened in my own life 25+ years ago. Since the video of the perp came out I’ve been leaving my TV on at night to make it look like I’m awake. I’m triple checking my doors, triple locking my cars, triple checking that ring cameras are on, etc. Seeing the image of that Lantana demon at her door brought up a lot of things for me I thought I had worked through. I truly do understand the incredible fear that Nancy felt and the sheer emotional horror the family is currently experiencing. Their sense of safety has been shattered. The feelings of fear are intense and that has carried over into her neighborhood and the rest of the world watching this play out. I joined here recently because something about her disappearance triggered me to want to know and understand more about what happened. But as time goes on I find it harder and harder to keep reading here and watching the news. I can’t look at pictures of the perp anymore without feeling a level of anxiety and dread, so I scroll by as fast as possible. I can’t look at his eyes in the pictures. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. It’s triggering some PTSD. However, there is a need for me to understand the “why” so I keep reading and watching. Her disappearance is horrifying and shocking, and extremely scary. Knowing this happened to someone so vulnerable is extremely disturbing and sad. I and most likely many others just can’t make it make sense.
Yes, it’s affecting many people in a visceral and emotional way. Also I know there’s awful crimes happening somewhere as I’m typing this. It’s overwhelming. I have prayed for NG and her family many times and will continue to do so. I pray for safety and strength for all of us this morning. Hug your family, be with them and enjoy every moment you have together. Life is a blessing and may we all live it to the fullest.

Also the SIL would already immediately know if there are any plants or flowers on Nancy's porch. In the video before he goes to grab the lantana you can see him turn away from the door and look down to the ground toward the left of the porch as if he is looking for something he then goes and grabs the lantana.

Sorry, very VERY late to responding. Someone else mentioned that maybe mental illness or schizophrenia was the reason for the ‘bizarre’ behavior of the perp on the nest camera and I was sharing that I did not believe that accounted for what we saw on camera.

Possible explanation for bizarre behavior on camera:
1) Perp is startled by camera
2) knows someone might get an alert and look at the camera feed
3) has to think fast; blocks camera with hand (back of hand because he was grasping something?)
4) realizes anyone looking will still see a hand
5) decides to use flowers so that if someone looks, it looks natural

That's still not a good or likely explanation, but it's all I've got. Other idea is a calling card or it was meaningful to the perp (mentally ill?).

Perp may also have been on drugs.

Most of the news is designed to make you angry or afraid. This is a tempest in a teapot.

How the story has been characterized and actual reality might not be aligned.

I seriously doubt that the FBI won't have access to any results, and if there are no results, a second crack at the gloves. That sample will not be completely exhausted.

There are hundreds of labs out there in the US, Canada, and UK that are equal to or better than the FBI for low copy number DNA analysis and forensics.

LCN analysis is a big business now and there are "kits" that make sample extraction, amplification, and analysis much more routine.

The limitations now are not the skills gap at the lab, its statistics and chemistry: stochastic effects, sample binding to the consumables, and allele dropout.

Hi All, this is my first time posting here so apologies in advance if I mess up. Not sure if this topic is okay to share but wanted to discuss the clues I see that indicate a possible motive.

I think the motive for the abduction of NG is indicated by the placement of the holstered gun over the groin of the perpetrator as per the released NEST doorbell camera footage.

The placement of the holstered weapon is deliberate and overt, meant to draw the attention of the intended viewer to the genital area. It could indicate that the perpetrator equates the weapon with his sexual potency and possibly fetishizes sexual violence.

The perpetrator also had no hesitation in performing an act of violence on NG to force submission prior to exiting the residence as indicated by the trail of her blood on the front porch. He could have compelled NG, an 84 year old mobility challenged person, to leave with him without resorting to violence and yet violence was the action of first resort.

Lastly, the perpetrator did not take any of NG's personal possessions which would increase her levels of comfort (such as glasses or hearing aid) or ensure her health conditions were treated (medications). This indicates that the perpetrator had no interest in NG's comfort or concern for her health. If the objective was to seek ransom for NG's safe return, the perpetrator would be taking the medications essential for her survival.

As such, I don't think that the perpetrator abducted NG for ransom and fear that he had no intention of NG surviving their encounter.

The relative that keeps being mentioned has been questioned by the 'authorities', he and his electronic communications are under surveillance 24 / 7 (literally), so that's almost from day one.
I'm not saying he should be excluded. But for him to monitor Nancy, her daily needs, etc and negotiate with the authorities. I just can't see it unless there are 'multiple' parties involved in this.

I haven't fully thought this through, but is there a possibility that these are two separate incidents? Could guy on camera be an opportunist criminal? Did NG wake, see what had happened or heard something and gone to check, hence no signs of forced entry. Then as she opened the door, she may have walked away from the door and someone was waiting?
Highly unlikely I know, but trying to think of any possible alternative scenarios

I didn't see the topic but speculating that nobody can really fathom a person walking right up to a front door of what's been stated to be a "million dollar home" without the assumption that cameras could be everywhere. Hence, crazy.
