family of a celebrity, confusing clues. early hopes the victim might be recovered alive gave it a sense of urgency.
Fair enough. I think the "hope" in the situation has kept me following. At this point I just hope the family gets answers and some closure soon.

This has been so intense the entire time. Someone give insight to why we are so gripped by this story? My husband thinks I'm nuts and my children are like mom please give me your attention! Just so many crazy ups and downs
I think the ransom notes, whether legit or not, give the possibility that she is still alive out there. And at the same time the story keeps changing and I honestly have no idea or intuition about what happened. And just when I feel resigned or move on something will break through again.

Does anyone know who dropped her off, and why so late? I wonder if it was a special celebration. Usually elderly people don’t stay up that late.
I thought she went home in an Uber??? Did I miss something???

Its a weird way of doing it as it is giving the person to be arrested a lot of warning and chance to escape knowing they are coming for them.
That's why I wondered if they could be negotiating over the phone or something... jmo

Well if the person doesn't know now they wouldn't have known if they were secretly doing it.

Why didn't they get the warrants before they left the building?
Pretty sure the warrant thing is unconfirmed rumor at this point, so let's not dwell too much on it unless someone has confirmation from a reliable source.

My guess is because NG reminds a lot of folks of a mother or grandmother they are fond of. My grandmother is her age and if she were in this situation I would be beside myself.

Also, apologies for my prior post about that non approved source. Still learning the rules.

Yes to your second question. She was reported to have been driven home by TC.

Do we know that it’s an arrest warrant that is being sought? Could it just be a search warrant for a property?

We don't know what kind of warrant it is as far as I'm aware.

There could be many reasons. The main one I can think of at the moment is it lets everyone get staged so when the warrants are sworn out, they can execute immediately. Otherwise you’re looking at even more delay.

Sheriff previously stated SIL brought her home. She went to their house in an Uber. Also according to sheriff.

If she was carried out in something like a fireman's carry, her head would be behind the kidnapper's feet as he walked away. The drops would fall behind him, if they were falling from her face.

MOO
But why carry her out? Most criminals just kill and run out leaving the body. Why take the extra time risking getting caught to remove a body? Then do what? Drive down the road with it?

Probably not a ton of judges within earshot on a late Friday afternoon. If it's a federal judge it may take even longer to facilitate.

JMO.

Intellectually interesting because none of it makes sense. She had such a low risk lifestyle it's madness what happened to her, people want the solution to what seems like an impossible to solve puzzle.

A lot of times with crime we make ourselves feel better by thinking it couldn't happen to us because we'd never do X, or go to Y, or marry Z like the victim did. NG reminds us you can do everything right and evil can still find you.

Emotionally, it's hard not to picture your mom or grandma in her position. It's scary enough when those we love are older and struggling with the normal downsides of advanced age but something like this just takes the turn to nightmare fuel. I think this is touching the heart of a lot of people.

I bet a lot of people are having talks with their elderly parents about security and making sure their camera subscriptions don't lapse.
