I don't they would have sealed it up and towed it over a simple item. IMO
They are likely getting a search warrant to process the vehicle regardless of what they found. (They can search vehicle if you are detained. Once you are arrested, I think they then can get a warrant to process vehicle.)

Loading up the Range Rover now. For anyone who wants to watch.
Crazy question:

If there was a body in the Range Rover, would they have transported it like that?

I'm really trying to follow along but how did the traffic stop go from a supposed white van to a grey SUV? Was the white van inaccurate online reporting? Were two cars stopped? It seems like all the LE guarding + evidence + towing is focused on the SUV and I'm not seeing van follow up. Did I miss something?
I think that because there was a white van in the first live shots from the traffic stop, everyone just assumed it was related since there had been discussion about a white van. Even though other vehicles were in the shot as well.

It's always a white van........

So, the license plate was covered with a piece of paper by LE, but you can see that it's a temporary paper license plate underneath.

Who are these perps?

Is that a temporary plate under the yellow paper? Or a dealer plate?

Would someone please point me to a reliable news source that has a story about the person who supposedly unalived themselve.

Thank you

This story is getting more and more bizarre. The suspects drive a luxury SUV and live in an upper middle class neighborhood near Nancy??? Were they scammers? Did they try to hustle Nancy out of her retirement and she reported them or threatened to? There has to be some connection.

I'm still so confused. Trying to sort this all out. So there is a gray Range Rover they found something in. And there was a medical examiner van on scene? Which scene? The traffic stop or the house with the warrant for the same person at the traffic spot?

Do we think an ME truck was for the person / suspect who shot himself in the head? Is the person who shot themselves in the head a confirmed report in MSM? Or do we think Nancy could have been found? Or that's still unknown? I did read the sheriff wouldn't answer but I know reporters sometimes tip their hand. I know everyone here is posting links left and right. (Thank you.) I normally follow Brian Entin and Michael Ruiz and Mary Coleman who haven't updated too much except for a ton of LE vehicles and this written statement that just says what reporters have already been reporting for hours. And that it's still a joint investigation. (Or...."joint" as in the Sheriff's wife probably woke him up to show him the latest videos on Facebook...ah, I'm just frustrated.)

Is this still ongoing coverage throughout the night? It's almost 3am and I'm fading fast. But hard to sleep thinking about this stuff. (If I missed things I should know, just ignore me, I'll read up and catch up. Just wondered if anyone else who usually pays close attention was still trying to tune out noise and get this straight.)

The Daily Mail reports 2 people have been detained at a house being searched in Marana.
The Pima Co Sheriff's office announced it's executing a search in Tucson overnight.
Other MSM report major LE activity at a house in Tucson 2 people have been detained at the house and 1 at a traffic stop.

If the Daily Mail reporting is accurate, it means 2 different houses are being searched overnight and 5 people total have been detained. Since the DM is the only one reporting a search in Marana, I'm pretty sure they are reporting on the search in Tucson but got the location wrong.

Something connected to Marana is going on. They were in the parking lot with the FBI and Sheriff Department when the business with the Range Rover started.

At this stage we don’t really know. There are various reports and we’re all confused.

Marana and other local LE have been helping out PCSD.

Trying hard to catch up on the last few hours by speed watching Fox10 Phoenix’s feed. From this, I gather:

  • at 20:30 the sheriff’s office told media to go to a staging area to a press briefing but by 23:00 they were told they’d only be getting a written statement, and sources said that they were waiting for FBI approval of a statement
  • Fox News reported two men and one of their mom’s were detained not arrested in connection to a search warrant, and reminded that while a search warrant is executed, it’s typical for residents to be detained for the duration
  • The Range Rover has a yellow piece of paper (looks like from a legal pad) covering the license plate, under an MG Motors plastic license plate frame. No front license plate.
  • Looks like the FBI is collecting the evidence (vs. sheriff)
  • The way they’re talking about the three people detained, it seems like they’re saying they were all at the home where the warrant was being executed. There is, obviously, a vehicle (the Range Rover), and I’m aware of a guy with white pant legs who was obviously being detained in some way, so maybe that’s a source of confusion on the numbers? Possibly one of them (I’d guess the mother) wasn’t a target and was only detained for warrant execution?
  • At 23:40 they show sheriff’s vehicles pulling out of their parking spots and pulling back in closer to the Range Rover
  • At 23:53 they share the Sheriffs statement, which they apparently learned from twitter.
  • At 23:53 LE put a yellow sheet up on the right rear of the Range Rover, covering as they opened the trunk. Fox 11 isn’t sure how they accessed the car, but a few minutes earlier the lights were flashing so I believe LE has the key fob
  • At 23:55 they put up a sheet on the left rear side. It was uncovered for 2 minutes while the trunk was open
  • At 23:57 they close the trunk and fold up the sheets
  • At 00:00 Fox 11 believes LE is wrapping up in the Culver’s parking lot
  • 00:09 the FBI tech is wiping then applying something to the seams of the car. I’m guessing he’s essentially “sealing” the doors
  • 00:34 a tow truck pulls into the lot
  • Camera zooms back in on the paper over the license plate. Looking at how wet that paper is now, I doubt it has been on there for very long. Driving with that in any sort of rain, it would disintegrate
  • FBI takes pictures of the side of the vehicle up on the truck bed
  • 00:53 tow truck drives away with the Range Rover and the LE vehicles all leave
  • And with that, I’m back to present time

Sorry to those for who this is redundant info, but hopefully this helps others catch up. Still don’t know much about the warrant and residence though…

A criminal heart can reside in a wealthy person, as well.

We’ve all read about cases that surprise us, and not every crime is committed by the poor seeking money.

We still don’t know why NG was kidnapped, nor the validity of the ransom notes.

It may well be someone with a record, or someone committing a first crime. It may be someone poor, or someone for whom this is just some kind of thrill.

Rob Reiner’s son was rich; the man who recently killed his former wife (Tepe case) was a heart doctor, to mention two recent cases. Those were motivated by hatred, not by money. Or you get a Murdaugh, or a Mangione. Money without morals.

Yes, it may well be someone poor, desperate, on drugs or anything else at this point. And yes, statistically it’s more likely to have crime in a “bad” neighborhood.

But IMO nothing can ever be ruled out just based on probability, as well as the preconceived notions we all harbor, consciously or not.

In my opinion.
Crime knows no financial boundaries.
