I'm curious about the whereabouts of the three detained people during their detention (NY Post is saying 4 people, but they were also saying a person shot themself in the head, so I don't trust them to be up to date).

The man in the traffic stop was detained at least temporarily by Marana PD (that's the vehicle he's pictured in above) in the Culver's parking lot. A Fox stream I watched last night had obtained video of this interaction, but the video was of the upper half of LE and they didn't realize that there was someone sitting in the vehicle. That's the only video I've seen, and it's not clear what happens to this man after.
Fox10 Phoenix’s feed. From this, I gather:
  • At 23:53 LE put a yellow sheet up on the right rear of the Range Rover, covering as they opened the trunk. Fox 11 isn’t sure how they accessed the car, but a few minutes earlier the lights were flashing so I believe LE has the key fob
  • At 23:55 they put up a sheet on the left rear side. It was uncovered for 2 minutes while the trunk was open
  • At 23:57 they close the trunk and fold up the sheets
  • At 00:00 Fox 11 believes LE is wrapping up in the Culver’s parking lot
  • 00:09 the FBI tech is wiping then applying something to the seams of the car. I’m guessing he’s essentially “sealing” the doors
  • 00:34 a tow truck pulls into the lot
  • 00:53 tow truck drives away with the Range Rover and the LE vehicles all leave
From Fox 11's feed that I watched last night, it was clear that the detained Range Rover driver was no longer in the Culver's parking lot. Where was he at that point? Did they let him go or did they transport him to an office/station? And, since he was not arrested, under what grounds did they stop and detain him and search his vehicle? We haven't heard of a search warrant being executed on the vehicle, but without that they'd need either permission from the driver or probable cause (right?).

David C., who lives next door to the home that investigators searched overnight, said the home’s owner told him that her son had been questioned and released and was now with friends.

The woman was home by herself when investigators showed up at about 6 p.m. Friday with a search warrant, Mr. C. said in an interview on his back patio on Saturday morning. She was not allowed to be inside her home as investigators searched, Mr. C. said, so the woman instead spent the night at Mr. C’s house.

It is unclear what drew dozens of law enforcement officials to the home late Friday, and the authorities said on Saturday that no one had been arrested.

Were the people detained at the home ever transported anywhere, or were they just detained for the execution of the search warrant and told they couldn't re-enter the home?

I've been thinking about how this old lady could have opened her door to let the kidnappers in.

Was she a religious lady? I think maybe she thought she "heard" a voice beckoning her to "the other side" (aka heaven!) and to "open the door" to let the Holy Spirit in.

I know of a number of the older members of the Congregation at my church have had similar out of body experiences. I wonder if this happened to Nancy.
The sheriff stated NG to be "sharp as a tack", so no mental deterioration. Man accused of sending fake ransom note to Nancy Guthrie’s family released before trial

This does look accurate. If you can get past the night vision camera shadings of color and linings.

You're right. I just zoomed in and I can see the area protruding where the snap is now.

The only thing that is throwing me - The lining of the holster is not the same color as the holster itself.
Would the holster being white in the footage mean it would actually be black and if so, would the lining of the holster then be white/lighter in color because it is black on the footage?

Hey Hon, can you elaborate on this please for those of us who didn't go to medical school ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
As our organs shut down, they start to break down, resulting in a certain smell. Have you ever smelled a dead deer?

ETA: trying to put this in simple terms btw, figured no one really wants to discuss the in-depth reasons haha.

I'm about ready to DoorDash some extra-strength iced coffee to the evidence testers, in hopes that it speeds things up.
I know we're all anxious and on edge waiting for definite news.
I can't imagine how the family is feeling after last nights chaos.
IMO.
Hopefully your DoorDash driver won't get pulled over.

Brian Entin had the former Pima County sheriff employee Rick Castagar back on his show. Nothing really new here, just more endless commentary, but interesting background. Obviously this guy has an ax to grind with this sheriff and is not a fan so that likely colors his opinion of him, but it does seem, at least to an outsider, like the investigation has been disjointed.

Starts about the 11:18 mark.

BE: I spoke to the former under sheriff Rick Castagar. I've spoken to him before. He was with the sheriff's office for 40 years. He worked with the sheriff for a long time. He's not happy with the sheriff now and the way that the investigation has been handled. Um, and I wanted to play for you what um, what Rick told me. First of all, what is your reaction to this new reporting that the sheriff withheld critical evidence from the FBI?

RC: I have a one-word answer. That's outrageous. And it's outrageous for a number of reasons. The FBI is the entity that certifies those for-profit organizations of which the sheriff's department here has a contract with to analyze uh trace evidence, DNA, hair, you know, anything. And to, in my opinion, to not include the FBI in that analysis is absolutely outrageous. But it's rooted in this sheriff's disdain for the FBI and it's rooted in back when I was a member of the organization and working uh an investigation that erupted.

My gut still says she's alive, but you know, as we go by more and more time and there's no uh evidence of life with Nancy, it becomes more and more concerning and heavy in this case. And time is of the essence in this regard.

Um, you know, one possible scenario is, and it's horrific to think this way, but perhaps he took her and she succumbed to because of age and lack of medicine. We don't we don't know that. And now he's got a problem. That the intent wasn't to kill her, but that she passed away. I think I think this was still a kidnapping. And I think his motive was money. That's my opinion.

BE: One thing I keep getting asked is like what do people in Tucson think? How are people feeling? What's the mood on the ground? I mean, you've lived here pretty much your whole adult life, right?

RC: Yes. Yeah.

BE: So, you know a lot of people. I mean, what is the mood? How would you describe it?

RC: Actually, the mood is um supportive of the Guthrie family and as I've mentioned to you, this is a a hometown gal who did well, uh Savannah. And so, there's a huge outpouring of support for her. But just the same, a lot of folks are taking a step back and watching the antics and the interaction between the local law enforcement agency, who has had a proud tradition of being progressive and professional, fight with their federal uh partners. And it's nothing but territoriality and somebody holding a grudge in my opinion. And the public sees it and the public is in my opinion seeing what I hear from my associates still there.

There are similar holsters with slight differences from other companies. Probably find a bunch on ebay and Temu, AliEx etc.
Correct. This is what we call a "universal" holster. It is generally profiled for a long pistol frame. This is not a specific model holster, nor does it match the apparent semi-auto that was seen on the Nest cam footage. It is cheap and often found collecting dust in the $5 sale bins of gun stores. It also does not clip on like many belt/waist holsters but has a longer belt loop on it which explains the low handing front and center, dangling "appendix carry" that the suspect displayed.

Observations on it: - cheap, - mismatched so it did not come w/ the gun (maybe it wasn't a live firearm, or a cheap one on the black market) - mismatched, snaggable vinyl material so poor performance if the suspect needed to draw and use it (though I wouldn't count my life handling a firearm in those bulky gloves). It was also off color (minor detail, but black is more common and more useful).

Essentially nothing about it was good or efficient. I carry a custom profiled kydex holster that clips into the waistline/belt. It's the complete opposite of the features I described above in performance and use.

If the focus for LE has again become the ransom messages, I’m curious what everyone’s thoughts are in regards to the first two being from one individual and the next three (from someone claiming they’ll give the name of the main individual for one bitcoin) being a different person? Is it possible all five are from the same person/group?

I don’t know if it was ever stated whether the bitcoin account was the same account in all communications or was there another account used/set up just for the newer communications?

Yes, and I’ll never forget that smell.

This is from Megyn Kelly on youtube. Apparently a neighbor saw a guy on her ring camera snooping around on her porch looking suspicious. Please look and tell me this is not the exact man who was seen on Nancy’s porch and why hasn’t the sheriff released this picture to the public to warn them?
Only difference I can see is that Nancy’s kidnapper wore an outfit to cover who he is and the guy on this video did not. there is a clear picture of his face.
When he turns to walk away, his gait is the same and his hips are wider than his legs. Very same. And he has that look of the dark eyebrows, mustache and goatee. There is a profiler discussed here who drew a picture of what she thinks the masked man looks like. This video looks like a cross between DE and the picture the woman drew.

The butt of the mis-holstered pistol looked a bit like a Ruger SR22 to me.

All four people questioned last night have been released

edit: that's the actual headline, article like other sources says "3 people"

No one shot themselves in the head. There was a fatal deputy-involved shooting in a domestic that night.

Looks like Nanos is using the ole' map on the dartboard and detain 'em tactic. Bold move.
The video attached “Video from fatal deputy-involved shooting in Vail released” is NOT about the NG kidnapping.

The shooting referenced in the article / video occurred November 28, 2025, after multiple reports of domestic violence. Unfortunately the video of DV incident was released last night and is confusing some.

Please delete it from your post, Thank you.

Hopefully the perp purchased the holster and the backpack recently at a local Walmart and perhaps LE can locate receipts with both items and track down the purchaser. However, there's no way of knowing whether they were purchased locally or at the same time or just something he found around the house that he'd had for years. I'm not sure whether this one is the actual holster or not; but I am sure that the perp put a semi-automatic weapon in a holster designed as a hip holster for a revolver and wore it in front of him. I've been around guns all my life and I have never seen anyone do that. They do make holsters to be worn in front - appendix holsters - but none of them would be worn dangling down in front of him like that - they are designed to be worn where the bottom of the weapon is above the pelvic area to allow for walking, running, sitting. If I hadn't seen the way this guy was wearing his I never would have believed anyone would do that. It has to tell LE something - I'm just not sure what!

This article says the fatal shooting was last year not last night.
I will edit thanks.

The local station reported an interviewed person mentioning the "someone shot themselves rumor last night" but there is no follow up mention on their page.

Hey! I'm new here. Is anyone able to tell me if Nancy has been found yet?
Welcome! 🤗
Sadly, Nancy is still missing. It’s probably best to dive in and start reading you’ll get caught up. Also check the media post for this case.

I'm not really sure how the this man gained entry to the residence but I don't think it had anything to do with the Holy Spirit or an out of body experience.
Also did you take a look at him? Ain't no one opening the door for that.

Perhaps he just broke a window pane like a regular burglar.
