But I am also thinking of how many persons' DNA could be in my house, just under ordinary circumstances. Even if they tested routine service providers, friends and family, there is still probably plenty of DNA here from delivery drivers, handymen my family doesn't know I employed, recently purchased groceries and merchandise, etc.

My thought on this is they found it somewhere either inside or out that they could tell was connected to the crime, maybe where there was obvious evidence of a struggle. JMO of course.

AFAIK they haven't even confirmed it was IN the house vs on the property. I may have missed something on that though. It seems to be all over the place with where DNA was found. JMO

It does not seem logical to me that he would try to still remove her if she was deceased.

If ransom was the objective, I think he would remove her regardless of whether she was dead. If the objective was to extort money from the family, that would presumably remain the objective even if she died accidentally in the home.

IMO so far, ransom is still the motive, though I tend not to believe the TMZ letters are from the actual kidnapper.

Leaving Nancy’s dead body in her home would have ended that in minutes, as it would obviate the need for ransom at all.

If ransom was the objective, I think he would remove her regardless of whether she was dead. If the objective was to extort money from the family, that would presumably remain the objective even if she died accidentally in the home.

This crime bears the hallmarks of a burglary gone bad and escalated, rather than a kidnapping. There was no planning, a single offender who knew that she lived alone, and haphazard efforts at covering his tracks.

A kidnapper smart enough to demand bitcoin, which is largely untraceable, would surely be smart enough to avoid a doorbell camera and putting a flashlight in his mouth to illuminate the scene even brighter.

Sheriff's motivation is going after the bad guy(s). IMO organized searches around Tucson would be helpful - nothing planned.

Forgive me if I am not up to speed but how on earth do they find 'unknown' DNA in a large house like that?

I guess if there were bodily fluids left in the bathroom, it would be spotted and tested. But elsewhere - a hair? A used tissue? A used glass or cup? Surely they aren't just swabbing random surfaces? That would be like finding a needle in a haystack. It's hard to imagine that a fully-dressed, possibly masked intruder would leave much of anything behind, let alone leave behind something that could be noticed, tested and identified.

The video posted a few pages back with BE interviewing the retired female FBI investigator along with another lady investigator (sorry don't know their names) explain how they go about collecting evidence. Essentially, they look for areas that are out of place like something knocked over, or obvious places a perp would touch/use and work systematically through the home to collect it.

Was something stolen from the home, other than NG? Why would he take her if it was a burglary gone wrong (assuming going wrong was that she was killed)? If I recall, she had a hearing impairment; if that's true, it seems as though it would be relatively easy to break in to the home and take whatever without even rousing her.

They can absolutely get the IP address that an email was sent from. But most likely, if the person who sent it has any idea what they're doing at all, that IP address will dead end at something like a compromised computer on some innocent person's home internet connection. Or, at best, a VPN in a country where they are either slow to respond or just don't respond to requests from US law enforcement.

BTW, If anyone reading has one of those "free TV" boxes like Superbox or Vsee, it may very well be part of a botnet that allows criminals to obscure the origin of their internet traffic. Cleared by Sherriff, not by FBI. If new evidence is found, new ballgame. For now, they are considered cleared. jmo

JMO, re outside gloves

I think they are “single” use nitrile gloves, no one tries on ahead in store, bought in boxes with several inside. Very stretchy, so they fit snugly when on.

If you are talking about the bulky, under gloves, not sure what type, if people try on in store.

These are not like buying leather Carhartt or Ugg gloves, $80-100, so the person wants the right size, fit, will wear a lot, keep a while.
