Personally I feel it’s irrelevant to Nancy’s case unless the victim is elderly. Not to minimize the awful nature of assault, but this looks more like your standard grab and rape attempt.

Here in the US people 1. kidnapped, 2. out of their homes, 3. (possibly) for ransom, 4. and an elderly woman is off-the-chart rare. Women being grabbed off the street and dragged or driven off to be assaulted is unfortunately not. I want to say the majority of kidnappings here are for rape or custodial issues.

Nancy’s could be sexual in nature assuming the ransom notes are fake. Elderly sex assault is typically a weird fetish or an inexperienced criminal, however, even those are in-house events as far as I can remember.

Regardless, surely LE has looked this other crime. Better to leave no stone unturned.

I don't think the man resembles Lantana man but I just want to point out that Marc O'Leary assaulted women in a wide age range from a teenager to women in their 60's.

We've never heard about (AFAIK) the state of the inside of Nancy's house, and particularly her bedroom. Possibly there was so much blood (sorry) that medical people said she couldn't have survived it.

In this scenario, would the ransom note a day or two after her disappearance have given the family a shred of hope that perhaps she did survive it? I need to find the link*, but IIRC, Nanos mentioned calling in homicide.

Not necessarily. There is not a lot of blood on her porch and the further you go past the nook onto the walkway the more spaced out her blood drops get.

I thought about it, if Nancy had stayed overnight at AG's house that night, how would the story have turned out? I wonder if Nancy was being followed or if they didn't need to, because they had the information themselves or someone else provided it. I still hope that the car will be recorded somewhere, because that's the key to the answer. I also thought about the fact that it could have been the work of a neighbor or someone nearby.

This article is from February 3, 2026 and there's quite a big of early-days info, including mention of homicide detectives taking over and a kind of conflicted statement/mention of forced entry.

This would be kind of a backhanded comfort for her kids. As awful as that would be they’d at least have the sparse comfort that it’s all over and she’s not out there suffering and afraid.

Excellent info, thanks. Sounds like it'd be important to know whether Nancy has an ICD or pacemaker. The only reason I can think of for someone wanting to put her's device into magnet mode is if it was be important to the crime, e.g., to prevent event reporting or otherwise disrupt the remote connection.

Her kids won’t be able to resist believing she’s out there somewhere at least not for the time being. The first stage of grief is denial, even in a face of overwhelming evidence. Denial happens to the best of us.

In this case, maybe she has survived relatively unharmed. We can continue to hold onto that hope. For now.

There is apparently a pattern of demotion or retaliation against officers who disagree with him at all. Mr. Cross is able to speak more freely as union rep, which protects him in the cast of information for the public good, so he is speaking up for his union members. It’s been alledged since the beginning that she took an Uber to her daughter’s house so she would have been seen by the driver if that information is true. Edited to add around 5:30 Saturday evening.
