Imo, the Sheriff is trying to address, satisfy, his public with what little information that’s suitable to reveal while still an active investigation.

The misunderstandings that I see are from a lacking of understanding that investigative conclusions are lead by science which changes as more results are analyzed and applied.

For example the guy that was briefly detained had science on his side so although he was upset feeling that it had diminished him in his community he wasn’t jailed and taken to trial to defend his innocence.

That the investigation is evolving, that LE is eliminating, going back to the scene to test their their theories, is good, imo.

I ask some to consider that NG’s home has been released to not any ordinary family but one with a multimillionaire with a crime and law background. Not a inner city slum rental turned vacant meth house.

I’ve seen no evidence or seen comments that there has been trespassing in the home, the site of the crime scene, by anyone.

I believe not even the family has been inside instead, possibly it seems to appear, having LE give their representative some small items.

All imo

ABC News has previously reported investigators are leaning away from both men as possible suspects
Snipped for focus:

Disheartening to say the least.
Always back to square one.

I think it's the last seen date and just looks out of place. I really don't think much of it but in a case with so much controversy I can understand people wanting to highlight it so see how much attention it gets. MOO
Yeah it’s just odd that it would be filed as the date of the actual report.

I’m not sure i’ve ever seen it done that way before.

I believe it’s video they requested from a much earlier timeframe, much earlier than they originally focused on.

Not unusual in a case like this imo

At the February 2nd presser Nanos requested neighbors to please go through their cameras, ring cameras, etc.

That neighbors camera that they recently reported about may have caught something early on that we are not aware of yet and they went back to either collect that camera for evidence or for measurements etc. We are in the dark about a lot of things to protect the integrity of the investigation.

It is weird. Like a lot of things in this case.

Although not tresspasing, someone left an APS card in the front door. No one stopped or saw this. Who is to say there weren't tresspassers if this can happen?

No not lovesick. Money to be had is all imo
So why wasn't it paid? Various amounts in bitcoin were asked for by ransom notes. Then , recently in crypto currency. Perp had the control. No one paid the ransom. Family and LE may have gambled and lost. Then you think the perp and ransom note writer are the same? I think they are. If they are not, then the perp wanted a trophy,NG. The mother of his love interest. JMO

Ok, I buy the last seen date. However the time is incorrect. She was last seen around 10pm NOT 6 pm

Investigation IMO has been problematic.

Cessna aircraft is outfitted with high-resolution thermal imaging cameras capable of detecting heat signatures in rugged terrain. After argument, sheriff had re-assigned pilot to ground duty. No one else could fly plane. Valuable time lost.
NG home area searched, then left. Neighbor alerted missed roof cameras.
Home area not off limits yet revisited by investigators.
Pizza delivery guy walked right into investigation.
Rio Rico man detained because of Door Dash/door broken down. Nothing.
Nearby mother/son home searched. Why? Nothing.
Man/home searched wth no evidence except he was previously in prison.
Found glove revealed no results.
Backpack currently no evidence.
APS left card left in door.
No requests for "people" organized searches for NG.
No ground searches of desert near Tucson.
Reward has not yet worked.
NG not found. Criminal(s) not found. Bitcoin continual demanders not found.
What has a search with no results cost so far?

At the February 2nd presser Nanos described all the resources that had been helping.
He mentioned that Canines from Border Patrol had worked tirelessly all day Sunday and Sunday night.
He mentioned their air assets had been helping - infrared, heat sensors, drones, aircraft etc. had all been utilized.

Sorry if already posted. But in case not...

This ties to my personal reaction. I've put my seat belt on for a very long ride. I continue to wonder if both the perp and NG are deceased never to be found. Perhaps at the bottom of a lake or cliff.

The Guthrie family is aware the probe might need to be modified, sources said

The thing that bothers me in this case is that it had a high likelihood of a quick resolution.

She was reported missing extremely early, much earlier than we see in many cases.

The resources that were offered and made available were much greater than most cases.

Yet here we are and their seems to be very little traction in finding Nancy.

I hope dna can solve this case bc I think it’s the best hope.

The only other way I can see a resolution happening is someone turning the perp in, but a lot of times that can take years. Usually turned in by a spurned lover, former friend etc.

I really feel for the Guthrie family
how many missing persons cases have the support of the federal government assured by the president? And still nothing.

Snipped for emphasis:

I've been wondering the very same.

What has always worried me is the blood on the porch. If perp had gun, and intended to kidnap for ransom, WHY injure Nancy and complicate things? She was not strong, so should have been easily controlled by a stronger person. Then add the threat of a gun, I don't see Nancy fighting, so why was she injured? If they were really kidnapping her, they wouldn't want an old injured abductee that might need medical help, or supplies, and leave lot's of DNA/blood behind to connect cars and places to the crime?

I knew one of you would bring that up! The time is wrong. Yep wrong time, wrong report date. Are we having fun yet? 🫠

BBM.

While SG is well known, I wouldn’t say she’s a household name (like Taylor Swift, etc). If you’re not someone who watches NBC regularly, you may not even recognize the name.

I wonder if the perp knew NG had a RICH daughter but didn’t realize how FAMOUS SG was. Maybe he wasn’t expecting this much heat?

In this scenario, I think the ransom notes are either a hoax or maybe a last ditch effort to cash in.

Maybe seeing the SWAT raids made things a little too real….

I agree with all this except the family not being inside. AG and maybe her husband were definitely inside the home and called 911 within 6 minutes of being there.

The criticism of the Law Enforcement unit is nothing new we see it in every high profile case because their tiniest actions and/or inactions are under a microscope for the world to inspect.

No investigation is perfect.
