They were in NG's backyard and the guy dressed casually with a cap pointed out something back behind the gate. The casual guy seemed to be the guide. Just casual looking at and pointing at various things. They were careful to cover their mouths in front of the garage but when they were on the front porch, they were speaking more freely.

Maybe they took the family in on the White SUV that went in garage. Maybe to let them look again to see if anything seemed out of the ordinary, missing or jogged their memory of something they did not notice before and to possibly ask them things to help in the investigation?

The vast majority of criminals show both organised and disorganised traits to varying degrees.

It's less useful as a predictor of who a perpetrator is than you might think.

People just don't fit neatly into boxes. They're not designed to fit the binary. Behaviour is so much more complicated and unless we ask someone, we don't know why they did a certain behaviour.

For example, the lantana. The most inexplicable behaviour we have on here. Is it evidence of panic? Clever improvisation? Laughably ineffective coverup? Mental illness? Something else altogether that only has meaning to the perpetrator? It's an ink blot of a thing. People can read it as organised or disorganised depending on what they are expecting or hoping to see, to fit their idea of the crime. Which is all about the person theorising, and probably has little to nothing to do with what the actual person was thinking or trying to achieve at the time.

once an arrest is made the media will flee from NG property to the police station where perp is arrested, then follow the case through courts, NG property will hold no interest as there wont be anything happening there

I honestly think they are just taking in the scene maybe even turning some information over to the federal side of things. I think pcso will step back and a small group of fbi will keep working behind the scenes. I don’t see this as a ramp up but rather a different approach. We saw something similar in the Delphi case where the local sheriffs office and state police asked for outside agencies to reevaluate the evidence.

That turned out to be a very long and winding road, i wouldn’t be surprised if we are headed in that same direction moo

LE can't really "prevent" her from offering a reward. They can advise against it, and the siblings may have discussed it and agreed to go with their advise. Unfortunately, this case seems to break a lot of "rules".

Watch Jennifer Coffindaffer's Youtube from last night where she interviews a former FBI CSI person "Mac McCollugh." She says in a high profile case they would often stash evidence in the tub (in bags of course) and take it out discreetly because they don't want the media and family to see what they are removing. She also said that how they poked around in the septic tank was terrible, terrible because family was watching and what if she had actually been in there and the septic tank guy turned to the other guys with a thumbs up and family saw that... she had a lot of interesting things to say about crime scene management.

Whoever was there today covered their mouths, used the garage, etc, so obviously they didn’t want everyone to know what they were doing.

Why not wait until tomorrow? With the no parking zones, there would be less media (or at least maybe not as many people all day).

Similar to all the searches and canvassing at AG’s and NG’s, and everything that’s been “leaked” (DNA results, etc) today is something else that seems performative (not WHAT they were doing, but WHEN - making sure the media/public knew)

One way would be to use an attorney as an intermediary. Law enforcement could not make any effort to find out who that attorney's clients are. Attorney-client privilege is sacred, even more so than doctor-patient.
