It's not! It was reported by a CourtTV reporter on February 5th-- I was watching the livestream and heard him say he was talking to one of her neighbors whose cameras also cut out on the night she was kidnapped. Then I couldn't find video of the livestream anywhere and no other reporters mentioned it since then. I think LE has known about this but they are finally running it down in more detail after exhausting other leads that they may have thought more promising.

True, but it isn't like you can go to Temu or any other supplier and buy military grade equipment. My comment was directed at the claim that a wifi jammer could jam all radio communications, gps, cellular, wifi.... The small jammers people are calling Temu jammers don't have near this capability and are directed specifically at wifi. Any jammer capable of jamming all radio communications is way beyond the scope of what LG may have had and would be huge, heavy and military grade....think electronics warfare.

Ours has a lock on it (I think put there by the utility). Our actual breaker panel is inside the house.

I guess the idea would be that by the time the video was captured and uploaded the jammer had stopping working, maybe battery died or something

This is why EVERY home security system needs to include a hard wired ethernet component to complement wireless. Criminals are increasingly using jammers, which unfortunately aren't that hard to find if you are truly determined, regardless of the fact that they are strictly illegal.

A camera that is hardwired to the router and goes through a cable is unaffected by any jammer, and will record to the cloud, send notifications to your phone, and continue to operate normally even in the case of a jammer attack. Some even detect jammer attacks (because of a sudden flood of information on 2.4 or 5 GHz bands which can ONLY be a jammer).

Everyone should know this for their own security. ANY wireless camera is pretty easy to take offline by these criminals.

I always recommend POE cameras first, or at least as backups.

Direct-burial rated ethernet cable is affordable these days and easy to work with. Always metal conduit and junction boxes on exposed runs to prevent cutting. Active deterrent cameras are available on these systems as well (siren, lights, strobe). Camera options are superior as well, and Pan-zoom-tilt. I co-witness my cameras with spot lights (commercial output, light up the entire zone, no IR).

Now I get using residential ecosystems like Ring for other product integration, and those can be fine with proper force multipliers and importantly proper use/installation. Don't leave blind spots, get all approach angles, adjust detection zones/sensitivity, etc. etc.

Besides the potential of signal jammers, there's always the potential for a company side wifi outage at night, and then you are dead in the water. Plus not every normie homeowner has their wifi cams or routers optimized, and they do glitch or lag.

Now I will say it is still relatively uncommon to encounter signal jammers based on talking to my colleagues who are still on the job, but sure you see more cases. And I was based in the NYC metro area. But the whole point of proper security is layers and redundancy.

Yes this is very common in the Southwestern US, in my experience.

I’ve always wondered if that was part of the 40 minutes inside — they had her change clothes. I don’t think we’ve had any information on what NG might have been wearing or what was in her hamper, etc. Only my wondering. OMO.

The blue shirt of Nancy’s that was used for scent by the dogs reminded me of a Land’s End nightgown that was available in that same shade. I still think she was taken in whatever she was wearing when she went to bed.

This is the guy seen on camera with two backpacks a few miles from NGs home on the night she went missing. He is using a wifi jammer. That's why he holds the backpack up like he does. They are used and not hard to acquire.

I am hoping that while searching for Nancy they bring others home to their families. It is a shame missing people are out there and it takes another case to happen for them to maybe be stumbled upon, it is so sad.
