The more I think about some of those [imo, disingenuous] remarks Shields made yesterday, the more I would like to see some action taken if this thing derails. It just makes me madder than a Hatter. Grrrrrrr. She should be ashamed of herself, IMO -- she was fighting the good fight for a while, and I was okay with that, but then she turned left, and went down a crooked road.
I know it's uncommon for objections during closing arguments, but I was
waiting for the State to object. I'm obviously not a lawyer, but felt it was warranted, and needed, at at least one point. Now the jurors are confused, as though all the linkages covered during the trial (Carson, Mahato, "the Hispanic guy", the various guns and crimes, multiple trials and interviews) weren't confusing enough. These peeps heard this stuff
one time, and it has to be confusing to them. Then BS brings in extraneous, unsupported bull**** to add to the confusion.
I was going "huh???" myself. Raising reasonable doubt is one thing; bringing in bull**** to raise
unreasonable doubt is another. It probably wouldn't have mattered since bells can't be un-rung, but I wish the state had objected.
BS certainly played the
"going last" card to the hilt. Great strategy for a defense attorney to attempt to get murderer off; bad strategy for truth and real justice.
That said, I still have faith. Crossing fingers that they all have sense and can see through the manipulation.
