It is the cold, calculated killers that always seem to take our best and brightest. Maybe it is because they represent the very part of themselves they know they could never be. Their failure in society and in humanity is wrapped into that one moment when all the hatred, resentment, and evils are thrust upon the innocent as they are truly loved for being noble, kind, and good. It is so ironic.

Just the huge contrast of the paths in life each one chose.
It is ironic.

So very sad.
I can not imagine being Eve's parents and receiving that phone call that they got a few days ago.

It breaks my heart.

No, I don't even want to imagine a phone call like that one. It gives me a knot in the pit of my stomach every day when my child goes to classes on campus. I don't rest easy until I know she is home again.

And what's even worse is that, when this 🤬🤬🤬🤬 is brought to trial, there will be a whole slew of people and organizations supporting him, fighting for his "rights" and taking his side, while the victim's family will have next to no support. Girls will write him in jail, want to marry him, put up myspace pages to sing his praises, etc.

That's what really makes me sick.

I know, adnoid. Don't even get me started on that.:furious: Something needs to change in our legal system, that's for sure!

I can't understand what makes these thugs believe they have a right to do these acts upon others.
Where does it come from?

Why does the creep get all of the rights?
The pig didn't allow Eve any rights or choices. He made the calls!
Yes, it really is infuriating.
We need a change !

Me too. I have 2 that are away in college now. I miss them, but they are sooo happy in their lives, so I'm happy.

I love them so much, if something horrific happened to one of them, well, I'd be on my way to the loony bin for sure!

God bless Eve's family. And all of the many families dealing with tragedies tonight.

This is a question you should ask the defense Attorneys who get all these laws passed to give those rights to people like that! They will probably get the perp's photo thrown out because it is too prejudicial for the jury to see or it has already tainted the jury pool...some nonsense like that! The victims have no rights because we have to cater to the creeps so not to step on their toes.

Actually, my son is also in grad school in Raleigh, NC. This case hit very close to home for me. He is married and expecting a child, but I still worry. He tells me it is my job! (Wait until his baby girl is born and he finds himself in my role! He will have a whole new respect for "my job" then.)

Rats may get killed but one of his crew or someone in the gang unit of the police will have info on him if he is really in a gang.

Gang members rat each other out over far less than $25,000.
Someone will get in trouble and try to make a deal or they will just want the money.

I've spent the better part of this morning catching up on this - reading this thread and the posted links - what a huge, huge loss this is - she seems to have positively affected everyone she came in contact with - the kind of person we need more of - not less. Heartbreaking. I hope they catch this 🤬🤬🤬 and that he suffers every day for the rest of his miserable life. RIP dear Eve...

I was thinking that they could even give his name anonymously. Doesn't Crimestoppers assign numbers to tipsters to keep their names anonymous? The photos are so clear. Someone must recognize this guy.

 Well said adnoid.
I agree 100%.

It's so depressing to think that the evil is winning in this world. If someone as wonderful as Eve could be brought down by such evil...you can't help but think we are losing the battle.

  • #174
Yes, so why deny it?!

I've got a bad feeling that since they didn't immediately pinpoint this guy that it's gonna take a while to find him. I have no idea why they would deny another person involved, except for tactical reasons or someone high-tech magged the photos and the object was a duffel bag, or something we are mistaking for a person. The fact that they haven't released the time stamp plus denying others involvement makes me believe they are tring to play the perps off against each other and that Eve was alive at the ATM.

mrsmush: good idea re: perp keeping her around to ensure the PIN worked. Also she could have refused to give it until the ATM to buy more time.

Let's have some more news on this, LE!

I respect your perspective english, really I do, but I worry about chalking up all that is bad in the world to "evil". While I consider myself a spiritual person, I am not a religious one. We all need guidance to get through life and whatever works for people personally is great. The thing is, people end up in gangs as a result of complex factors, people turn "bad" for complex reasons, biological, sociological etc. I fear that when we simplify it as good vs. evil, we give away our control to do anything about it. We need to understand what goes on and why bad things happen in order to understand how we as individuals can make a difference. Participation in WS is one way we do that with our discussion of such things. Am I making any sense?

I don't see another person. I see the passenger seat headrest and lights and shadows from the bank area, but try as I may I don't see anything to suggest another person.

Look at the backseat between the two headrests. Do you see what looks like an arm in a black sweatshrt resting against the passenger side back door?

There is also in the backseat of the drivers side (through the drivers side back window) in better uncropped pics what looks like the left chest of someone wearing something that has an N, M, H type of letter.

ETA: maybe someone could post the pics with the areas cirlced?

Any locals watching WTVD - apparently there is a report that a woman has come forward and identified the "person of interest" in the photo released.

Anyone see the broadcast ?
