Updated from WRAL article:

"Tests have determined that remains discovered late Tuesday at Fort Bragg are animal and not human, investigators said Wednesday.

The confirmation by the Army's Criminal Investigation Command in Quantico, Va., ends speculation that the bones could have belonged to missing Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Bordeaux."

(Told ya the news would report any "remains" called into 911 or that they hear on their police scanner. It's their S.O.P. in case it is something newsworthy).

While I'm glad that it isn't Kelli I wonder where on earth she is. :(

Yes where are you kelli :rose: Somebody knows :furious: I keep checking here every few days. Hoping of some news. Certain cases just steal a piece of your heart. This is one of them. Heartbreaking for her Family and Friends :rose:

Frustrating. It's tough because we don't know whether to be happy or sad that this is not her. I'm beginning to wonder if she joined some deep black project or something (half serious).

No, she's not sitting in a cave somewhere hiding out, and she's not gone AWOL and escaped to some far flung beach to sip mai-tai's for the last 7 months (while worrying her beloved sister, brother, and mother to death).

Whatever happened to her happened that night in April and she is deceased and her body was discarded or buried somewhere, obviously not intended to be found easily. There are a lot of places one can hide remains so that they are not found for a long time, if ever, if the perp has enough time. In this case since Kelli disappeared around 1:30am on a Saturday morning and there was a weekend before work started, that gives a perp a lot of time to take her remains somewhere outside the vicinity of FB and her apartment.

I am sad that this was not Kelli; she needs to be found and she is not alive, in my opinion.

Well, everyday i lose hope she'll be found alive. It's we're so conditioned to the long drawn out cold cases and they rarely have a happy ending as much as we'd all hope it would...

I believe IMHO she's buried somewhere far away from NC, maybe further South

I doubt the perp has a typical daily schedule of work, probably had some considerable free time and can drive a long distance on the highways & off roads..

I think the perp's local and also probably knows Kelli. IMO She was "ambushed" on her home turf near her complex and if she was spooked as her Mom said could've happened, that's sounds like she likely confronted someone she knew but did'nt expect to see after Nick left dropping her off home..

Every time a body, or partial skeletal remains are found anywhere around Fayetteville, I get these mixed feelings, praying that Kelli has been finally found, and at the same time hoping in a way that it isn't her, because if it is her, what most of us have pretty much suspected since early on has become a reality. At this point, I don't think anyone will ever be charged in her disappearance and demise unless and until her body is found. If NH is the perp (and despite being voted most likely, I have just never been able to buy it), he obviously isn't talking, and if he isn't the perp, her remains could be in a location nowhere close to Fayetteville, for example, anywhere along I-95, and unless LE has lots they aren't sharing, their sights don't seem to be on other possible suspects. Whatever LE may have or not have, it is abundantly clear that they do not feel they have enough evidence to charge anyone at this point, and short of a sudden confession from someone, I don't see that changing, absent her body. JMO

STEVE P--- With All due Respect, I agree with how you're thinking.

I'm speculating with my hunches. I really believe the perp will get caught. I've really good suspicions the perp is local and can easily be avaialble for more LE interviews, questioning.

All the local NC LE has to do is re arrange how they're thinking, exclude Nick for the moment, and focus on the other suspect.

I think this perp knew Kelli, where she would be, who she was out with the night she went missing. And then he ambushed her when she was alone and defenseless.

And now the perp's putting on a cool, casual, concerned "front" to mask his guilt and keep all the attention on others like Nick.

Does anyone know if LE has checked the suspects for guns, knives, other weapons during their searches?

My impression is the perp knew how to conceal himself, stealth like when he ambushed Kelli. I think the perp was cunning, clever enough and had a history /pattern of knowing how to try to "get away" with things and not get caught.

If my theory is correct on the perp's profile, he's fairly sophisticated and knows how to use guns, knives, maybe had a silencer ...IMO he used a hunting/combat type of knife to abduct her and stabbed her. This would avoid the loud gunshot sounds lin the early morning to avoid waking people up. The perp probably knew hand to hand combat techniques and was familiar with combat or martial arts.

And bear in mind folks, young Kelli was a very small, petite sized woman.

And he probably did'nt stab her in his car because of the clean up of evidence.

I think he ambushed her at night near the apartment complex. Beat her up pretty good, maybe unconscious. And maybe since she had been drinking ALOT made it easier to make her unconscious. The bar keep said she consume 4 shots and 4 beers. If I drank that much, I'd be fairly "comfortably numb", hammered.

The perp then carried her to his car, drove a long time, found a quiet wooded area, maybe even a lake or river since Alligators do live in those NC area waters, it could've been easiet to dispose of Kelli this way.

Not to sound too graphic or insentive, but my limited experience with Alligators is Alligators do not leave much or anything left of their victims. Everything gets eaten.

I found this post on WS earlier in April, 2012 on the day of Kelli's disappearance.

This is why I believe Kelli knew the perp and was startled to see him, not really wanting a confrontation, but decided to get out of the car.

Kelli's sister Olivia Cox was asked if Kelli lived with her husband. Cox said I can't answer that question.
She said she found out her sister was missing when she got a call from Kelli's husband who said Fort Bragg officials called him and said she did not showup on Monday.

Kelli's mom said the guy who took her home was just a friend. The friend told mom that she got spooked and did not want to get out of the car but then she did. Mom says if someone spooked her why did she get out of the car then? Friend said that she told him "no, let me get out here.

And then friend does what - drive away? It's that part that bugs me. Wouldn't a friend watch to see she was safe?

STEVE-- Remember LE has cleared nick so far, there was no compelling evidence and his statement jived so far to satisfy LE.

Yeah, Nick's suspicious.

But, alot of times with new friendships, out of respect, maybe Nick just wanted to please Kelli's wishes when said she will get out of the car and go.

If Nick's telling the truth, he saw Kelli was anxious about the person she saw or spooked her, so he trusted her instincts.

I'm wondering if noticing something, why did'nt Nick sort of just sit tight in the car and wait for Kelli to see if she was OK?

Then again, I'm thinking with Nick's shady past, he's probably not someone who really thinks about the safety or concerns of his "friends"

The comments made by lead detective Jeff Locklear, broadcast on the Today show in June, surely sounded like Nick is still the focus of the investigation. He said Nick has valuable information about where she is (pretty incriminating that Nick isn't divulging this) and that the texts and calls she made after leaving the bar weighed heavily on what happened and how she felt about who she was with (sounds like Nick's behavior after they left the bar was worrying her).

The 2 underlined phrases show that she was not afraid of who she was IN the car with. IMHO

She chose to stay IN the car and then got OUT. IMHO

But to believe that, you have to believe Nick (instead of Detective Locklear, who seems to have said otherwise).

1. Nick Holbert has not been taken off any POI list by the police.

2. Nick's story of the ride home may not be truthful. Kelli was last seen with Nick and now she's missing.
