I still suspect that either he deleted it just before the 'turn in' (the timing did seem to coincide with his arrest) or his parole officer got on his arse about it.

Todd - I'm wondering if you know, are their any other people, such as in other states doing what you are, monitoring FB's of sex offenders? I am in Pennsylvania and if no one has yet to begin here, then I certainly will.

I know this question wasn't for me but I know the answer. Yes there are and they need as many volunteers as possible trying to get predators off the social media sites.

If that was the case it makes NO sense that she would ask him to drop her off where he says he did! What is he saying? Do you really think she would let him take off with her car and just walk home...pick up her car from him at another time? Really doesn't make sense to me. Do we even know what car was used?

I think that is a very good question! I don't think we absolutely know. From what NH implied sounds like he was saying they were in his car...but it's good to question everything he has said!

I am a firm believer that as they used to put children missing on milk cartons, I think they should put Sex Offenders that have failed to Register on them now.... There is no real database or group to track these absconders and its a BIG FLAW in our system...

I wish we would hear something about their searches today, cannot find any media on this what so ever today thus far....urgh

We have no confirmation of anything that was driven. Reports have been He picked her up and dropped her off, He could have picked her up from the mall We dunno..

Where her car was. Where nicked picked her up from ,if he dropped her off. All we know for fact is
NH is the last one to admit seeing Kelli and he was in her company that night.

Um...my point was...it would have been nice to have known she was missing before 2 days had passed. I don't need to watch Forensic Files to know that. Simply, it would have been nice if there had not been a chance to destroy, hide or burn evidence. IMO

Quite stupid to burn the body in one of those barrels. DNA extraction is quite routine nowadays for identification purposes of burnt victims.

I questioned why Nick/someone wouldn't have burned any clothes (versus throwing them where they could be found). That's when VOH told us about the barrels.

A girl, her name was Kelli too I think, from Northern Illinois University was killed and then burned right in the wooded area adjacent the school. It took some time but they were able to confirm that's what happened.

I think they wanted to wait until they knew he wouldnt get out of Jail.As long as he is charged with the a crime relating to the car fraud then his lawyer is not representing him on any other charges once he gets one.

So I think he is headed for a grand jury indictment before charges are laid. MOO

You dont get lawyers for crimes you might be charged with appointed to you. He will be required to answer questions even if they have to call him in as a witness to a grand jury to decide if they are going to charge him. I dont believe he gets an appointed lawyer for that grand jury ,unless he hires one.

Maybe the laws in NC are different but in my state once the police are made aware you have legal representation they must consult your attorney before any questioning.Also since he is claiming he gave her a ride home in his car I do not see how the police could question him about one without the other.As far as the grand jury the prosecutor can not require you to answer questions unless he gives you immunity.He will simply invoke his fifth amendment right.

yeah no kidding! on his records that someone posted it said his last check in was on 8 april..... he was living in the tent at the time. Wonder when their last "visit" to him was...

also.. if he was squatting out in that house by the pond obviously the guy has been living all over the place and not reporting it and no one is noticing.

Holbert was not on parole; that was terminated April 2009. He was arrested because he failed to notify the State that he had changed his address, which is required of all sex offenders.

also.. if he was squatting out in that house by the pond obviously the guy has been living all over the place and not reporting it and no one is noticing.

And that is very scary. Why would he do that? So he can commit crimes and have them not point back to him? Very possible since he was purposely misleading his PO by giving a faulty address. It also explains the car registration and lack of insurance. He just may be responsible for more than we already know.

VOH lead us to believe that they know each other from the bar and they came together that night. I'm guessing Kelli assumed it was a friend thing but Nick had other plans. Just a guess.
