VOH could you run Kellie's poster up to waffle house and post it there? If it isnt out of the way or anything.

I'll stop by when I head in that direction later today.

I wish I knew if they are searching today, or are they putting all their eggs in one basket?

  • #623
Well smeone just said this bar was very close to I95 and if thats correct there is probably a wafflehouse and many other places.

295. However 295 leads to 95. In fact, just past the exit (going away from the bar) is another Waffle house. However, I believe 295 turns into another road at that point.

Seems LE is off to a busy start this morning. I'm wondering about the outcome of the hearing for NH. Wondering whether that phone was found and where. Wondering where her car was found and whether it held any evidence. Wondering whether LE is going to have any type media conference to update. Wondering where KB is.

Also did the bar owner ever send Nick to buy alcohol?

Probably not, you have to order ahead of time and pay in person with a check to pick up liquor the proper NC ABC law way.

YES, Where is KELLI??

  • #627
I've been following since Kelli went missing. Praying daily for her safe return. I know the area where she went missing very well. There should be several businesses that would possibly have cameras in either direction NH might take after leaving Froggy Bottoms. There is a Credit Union - although the ATM isn't facing Ramsey Street there might be a parking lot camera. Previous mentioned Kangaroo - Mart. In the other direction (which is in the opposite direction from apt. complex where Kelli lives) a couple of fast food places (Hardees and McDonalds, I think) and a little farther down is an electric company.

Welcome!!! ur my neighbor! :seeya:

I must know nothing, because how does a man remain free for 11 years after not showing up in court for a DUI charge? Let alone all the child support he owed. It's not like he was living a low profile existence. He owned bars.

VOH, thank you for your input.

I understand the bond with bar people. I know this must be very hard for you. You're certainly in my prayers (and if you don't believe in that, in my good wishes).

  • #630
VOH have you been called to search yet?

I have no authority on that, but my personal opinion would lean toward yes.

In a way I think its bad news if they shut down the bar right now. People talk and I think the regulars of the bar are probably the best people to get any new information from. If the bar closes now, I worry about Kelli's case fading away. Another thing I was thinking is that if Nick ends up innocent in Kelli's disappearance, it's likely that the perp could be another regular from the bar. Many of the reported rapes have been near the bar which is what makes me believe the rapist may also have ties to froggies. I just hope if they close that bar the police will continue to interview the regulars.

You'd be astonished at how many folks move from other places here and are never found.

Apologies if I havent read far back enough. Where were the bloody clothes first mentioned and where were they found? Thanks.

Suchanovice, from my understanding - the clothes were mentioned in an interview media did with NH (that seems to have been subsequently pulled or edited). NH brought up the clothes. No mention of where they were found. We really do not know if this was something fabricated by NH, a strategy by LE, or whether the items even exist.

Just In: Steven Cantrell, the owner of Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville where a missing Fort Bragg soldier was last seen, has been arrested on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court on a 2001 DWI charge and for failing to pay child support in Boston.
Keep up with breaking news at http://www.wral.com/

I had a feeling that this case was going to wind up like dominoes and others would fall too.

So now I am more confused that ever? Steven Cantrell is the owner of the bar? Sheesh I am having a hard time keeping up with who really owns the bar.

I suspect now the government is going to get involved and see if he was keeping his accounting records up to date too.

Also did the bar owner ever send Nick to buy alcohol?

Don't know about the laws in N.C but in Georgia I know that all beer, wine and liquor purchased for resale has to be purchased from an authorized distributor who delivers it directly to the bar or restaurant. The bottles purchased from a distributor has a different tax stamp on it then liquor purchased at retail beer, wine, or liquor stores. A bar can get in a lot of trouble, like losing their license, if they come in to check and find even one bottle not purchased from an authorized distributor. I don't know if the same holds true in NC for private club but I don't see the owner sending NH to buy liquor.

On another subject, when NH started coming to Froggy's did anyone ever ask him about his past or where he came from? If so, what did he say?

VOH, I'm sorry that you have to go through this. I'm not sure (and I'm not asking) if you work at Froggies but if you do, I'm sorry that you have to deal with all this crap on top of your friend Kelli's disappearance.

My question is "Why now" arrest him?

Surely one of those 3 women would have know where he has been.

Where is Kelli?

I guess so. I can see that if someone is laying low. However it is hard to own a bar or two and lay low. I guess since the liquor license was in other names it didn't raise as many red flags though.

http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=news/local&id=8632176

warning this is a semi-rant...: why in the hello do they have the picture of the bar owner's (arrest not related to Kelli) picture front and center on the front page? Really? Is he missing? I think they know where HE is.

okay rant off...

Its a way to attract more viewers, imo.

But how in the heck did this man get a business license? Here in my state a background check has to be run before anyone can obtain a business license.

How did the DUI get by the courts all this time and how did the child support get to be so high before they even arrested him? I have read in my local paper people have been locked up for owing much less child support than this man owes.

IMO
