Sorta off-topic

BBM:

NO!!!!! I sent your link to my granddaughter. She was USAF Special Forces, but is now attending Methodist University. I told her to be super vigilant even though she can protect herself in normal situations. These rapes are too serious to not know about.

ETA: I had already told her about them and she already knew, BUT I did not have your link. She needs to read this, IMO.

Good, thank you, and hopefully she will pass it on.

Tell me something, can we find all the articles where it says that Mike has been ruled out? I would really like to read them. TYIA

What are the odds that KB went out with a convicted pedophile on Friday the 13th,... only to get killed walking into her apartment by a serial rapist?!

NH or a mystery male who she may have been texting most likely did this,... as long has husband ruled out.

That just makes me sad...:(

I will tell her to pass it on. Her husband is deployed right now and she hangs with a group of female friends whose husbands or boyfriends are right over there with him. They have endless support of each other.

Thank you again!

Not to say this should be done, but I prefer the eyes and hands were taken out of commission!!!!

tell me how you really feel...

I have never heard any say he has been cleared...

it was like pulling teeth for them to confirm he was in Florida when she went missing :moo:

Based on the number I have counted, as I said, everyone there was a regular, it is through the night. There are early regulars, late regulars, and all nighters. Have you ever heard the song, "I love this bar" That is the perfect description of Froggys. I cannot answer how many people were actually at the bar, nor how many when it closed. I can say that it was less than half the people who were there that entire night.

Nope, had never heard it...but I have now...isn't Youtube a wonderful thing. Managed to get a dirty look from my son too, he saw me watching a country video....lol (not that there is anything wrong with that)...:)

I wondered about that too, what he does for a living that he couldn't do in NC, but we haven't heard a thing about that. I attempted to look at his FB to get an idea but that didn't work either.

I am going to rip my hair out....

So Nick was her ride that night.
Not a date.
But she was on his tab or they had a mixed tab at the bar.
She did shoot pool with him.
He was her designated ride home that night.
If she felt that she owed for the drinks and it was payday, I think she would have paid before leaving, tired or not.
Hmmmm......perplexed

Tell me about it. She wanted to be with him that evening for some reason.

I'm not a country person at all... but I don't mind that song.

this is just slightly off topic: I heard on NPR a few weeks ago that Michelle Obama is working on making it easier for military spouses to relocate with their professions including letting licenses carry with them (re: teachers, nurses, other licensed professionals).. We are retiring soon from the Army but I tell you, this would have come in handy over the last 20 years!

Back on topic: no it is not easy to always be moving every three or so years and find a job, transfer your credentials if you have to, over and over and over again (and then try to keep up with them when you move and boom you end back up in the same state all over again and have to start all over again if you let it lapse). No, it is a complete sacrifice to be a military family member in my military family member opinion.

I completely agree that Mike may have had a hard time finding a job especially since he had just arrived there in December.

It was my understanding from some of the earlier articles that it was not easy on their (very new) marriage when Kelli went off to basic and AIT.. Separation is never easy but especially when you are newly married. Mister Nurse deployed to Bosnia for 17 months when we were newly married and it nearly broke us (no internet... no phone until 6 months in)...

Just to give a little perspective on why Mike may have been having a rough time... I think back to those days when we were their age and I can understand it completely.

I personally don't think Mike had a thing to do with this... but that is just MOO :moo:

eta: one more thing about getting jobs near a post: employers are not supposed to ask you where you live or use that against you... but I can say with certainty that I did not get several jobs I applied for in a mall when we were newly married because they sensed I was connected to the post (and I was too dumb at that time to say yes when they asked me if I was at the fort!).... so, from that angle it is also hard to find local jobs as well imhoo

Let me ask this, in general. If Nick isn't arrested for this crime, then what?

  • #476
Nurse, What is AIT?

Also, does anyone know if Kelli was going to be in this area for long or if it was a stopping point prior to deployment?

My sons best friend is Army, his wife stayed here when he was deployed to Korea, then he was back no time and off to Afghanistan. Sadly, their new marriage did not and could not take it. They are separated.

I think that since Nick looks like a nice trusting guy (from the interviews that I've seen), I could easily understand why she went with him to the bar. He doesn't look dangerous or like a pervert. He looks normal. If she is the kind of girl that gets along with both girls and guys it doesn't seem that off to me that they planned to hang out together that night. I have been in that situation many times in my life. At least I did before I was married. They were strictly platonic relationships. My husband wouldn't allow it now but I just have an easy time getting along with guys. Most predators end up being the ones people trusted.

Mama can you explain your question? It could be taken two ways.

He could be arrested right now for him to stay put, while they work out what they need to formally charge him.

But if you mean if they end up letting him go? Then what?

Yes lol, I didn't state that very well. If they finally let him go.

If he is not charged with this crime, he will do his time on what the other charges are, which I feel won't amount to much. Then he will be cut loose and live his life, probably not in Fayetteville though, I would assume he would want to go where his status is unknown again. IMHO

If he is off paper, the world is his oyster...
