I think the main reason that some people are assuming that they do have the phone is because her phone was turned off and then a few days later it was turned on. But it is only a guess. Not a fact.:please:

It could have been a fluke in the carrier's system as well.

I do not think we are allowed to post blog links here, but I found an interesting article about statement analysis of the interviews Nick gave.

I've read this too and I agree. They did this with the Sierra LaMar case as well. I don't think we can post it either but not sure. Nurse??

I can't help but think that time is being wasted...I just don't understand why the police aren't searching anymore. You would think that they would at least spend more time going over the same areas that they have already checked. I am also concerned about that pond they jumped on right away. I remember them saying it was hard to see and murky. I just hope they didn't give up to quickly.

Actually calls went straight to VM and then later the calls rang and then went to VM. People are assuming it means KB's phone was turned off then back on. And that is speculation because there has been no official word on what that means or why that occurred.

I'm guessing this is your first missing persons case to follow.

I had just read that same blog, VOH. Very interesting, eh? I would love to see more of his statements analysed by someone adept at 'reading' statements, voice inflection, body language. Interesting, indeed.

My first missing persons case was Elizabeth Smart. I knew she was alive. I just knew. Ever since her case, I have had a heart for all the cases I learn about. This is the first case that I have actually become obsessed with. You know like, being online all day looking for updates when I should be doing my school work and paying attention to my husband. LOL! There are just certain story's that grab me and this happens to be one of them. I think it's because I can see her bright spirit through her eyes and smile in the photographs and it's heartbreaking to know what might have happened.

Thank you. The phone initially going straight to VM could mean several things, a) phone is shut off b) battery is dead c) the cell itself is physically without signal. (if you think about this, that can vary quite a bit. I know in my own home, if I go into my back hallway I lose my signal until I move about a foot either direction).

That said, it IS interesting that the phone went direct to vm for, iirc, a couple days? then, the phone started ringing, then going to vm with no answer. Curious, yes, but we don't really know what it means for certain.

statement analysis can be very helpful.
I read a ton of them when they were doing statement analysis on Casey Anthony.
They were very interesting.

Well this is not going to have a very good outcome!

I think Nick and Kelli were seen leaving and anyone could have followed there has to be others from her apt complex that go to Froggies also.

LE
Tom Bergamine - Fayetteville Police Chief - stated they had reason to believe Kelli was in grave danger

PERSONS MENTIONED IN MSM

Nick Holbert - RSO (crimes against a child) - last person seen with Kelli alive. Police questioned Nick twice in relation to Kelli's disappearance. Nick has since been arrested for violating the state's Sex Offender Registry by failing to register a change of address at the Sheriff's Office and is being held on $100,000 bond.

Nick was known to hang around the bar, reported to live behind it in a tent or lean-to. Nick states that he met Kelli and her friend Justin at the bar several weeks before her disappearance. He asked if he could play pool with them. Holbert states that on the day of her disappearance, he picked Kelli up, they went to Froggy's, then later she asked him to drive her home to her appartment.
"Around one, one-thirty, she told me 'I'm tired. I want to go home.' I said 'Okay,' so we got in the car and as soon as I pulled into Meadowbrook, she said 'You stop right here and let me out. I'll walk,'" said Holbert.

The spot Holbert said he dropped off Bordeaux is about a quarter mile from her apartment on Water Trail Drive. He told ABC11 he figured there might be someone at the apartment she didn't want him to see, so he left.

Steven Cantrell - owner of Froggy Bottoms bar - arrested Monday, April 23 on unrelated charges. Failure to appear for DUI and outstanding child support. Cantrell was not present at the bar the night Kelli went missing.

Well the searching will continue with the public's help, and police have certainly not given up, and while there may not be "news" about what's going on inside the investigation, the investigation is active and ongoing.

This is not going to have a happy ending like the E. Smart case. That rarely happens and that case was an anomaly. LE knows they are looking for a body. KB is not being held somewhere by a kidnapper. Nor was Caylee, nor was Etan Patz, nor is Kyron.
